Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

"All of this because I gave you a pillow?" Sora mumbled, eyes going to the floor. He remembered how things had started, and it seemed pretty random to him. Kairi made the issue a big deal now, but seriously, was this all triggered just because of one kind deed he performed earlier? Or had she been thinking about this for a long time?

 

Kairi closed her eyes at the words, pressing her lips together. That made it sound so wrong to her, with the way Sora said it. She exhaled a breath through her nose and released her lips, but kept her eyes closed. "Now that I think about it, it sounds ridiculous that this whole thing came from that," she admitted softly. "But I guess, at the same time, I know this has been bugging me for a while..."

 

Sora lifted his head and suddenly turned to Kairi. "And you didn't tell me something was bothering you?" he asked, upset because of that. Kairi had always been open and honest with him, and it hurt she didn't tell him if something that was so important to her was upsetting her.

 

Kairi opened her eyes and turned her head to look at Sora. "Nothing really bad has happened lately, so nothing triggered it," she explained. That's why she was bringing it up now, because of the situation over the past couple days and today.

 

Sora held Kairi's gaze. He understood if nothing triggered it, but it was still obviously something she had thought about in the past. And if she pondered it that much, she probably was looking for a time to share her concerns. "I still think you should have come right out and said it before today," he said softly.

 

"I'm sorry," the redhead apologized, turning her head to face forward again, her eyes on the floor once more. She hadn't meant for this to be the turn the conversation took, but she guessed it was destined to happen, so she accepted it, even though she didn't like it.

 

Sora exhaled silently through his nose, looking forward again. He was upset, and if he spoke, that would come through even more. So he stayed silent for a while, not knowing what to do. He did feel like he had to shift his position though; That was something he always did when he was thinking. He leaned forward and placed his elbows on his knees without thought, wincing when pain surged through his arm.

 

Kairi bit her lip at the sound. Not only did that bother her, but so did this feeling in the room. She had the urge to leave, but doing that wouldn't solver her problems, and she knew that.

 

Sora had the urge to sit back the way he was so his shoulder wouldn't hurt so badly, but that would only cause unwanted attention from Kairi. So he toughed it out, locking his muscles in their current positions and riding out the pain.

 

Kairi sat still, tense with uneasiness. She wasn't sure what to say anymore, feeling that the wrong words would come from her mouth. Apparently it wasn't right of her to confess this now, and she supposed that was the case. But she hadn't gotten a good opportunity for it before. Holding it inside must have been backfiring on her now...

 

Sora felt terrible. Not only physically, but emotionally. He was starting to get the gut feeling that Kairi was right...about everything. Was he really causing her a lot of pain when he kept things inside? He was only trying to help. She had to see his good intentions, right?

 

Kairi continued nibbling on her lip, debating on whether she should say something. But still...she didn't want to say the wrong thing and in turn trigger unwanted problems or emotions. At the same time though, she felt Sora deserved something out of her. "...Sorry I brought it up," she said softly. It probably wasn't her best idea.

 

Sora shook his head slightly. He didn't want to hear Kairi apologize...she had made a tiny mistake compared to what he was doing. "You shouldn't be the one apologizing," he insisted softly, looking at the ground. He blinked when he felt his head get heavier, things getting a little fuzzy. I feel awful all of a sudden...

 

Kairi looked up then, her eyes resting on Sora. She wasn't sure what he meant, but she hoped he would elaborate on that. So he felt he should be apologizing? When she brought the subject up, she hadn't been looking for an apology, just acceptance.

 

Sora suddenly rose to his feet, stepped forward two steps, and ran a hand over the back of his hair, feeling like he needed to move. Maybe that would get rid of the sick feeling he had. "Kairi..." he started, turning to face her from his spot. He needed to tell her that she was right; he was being unfair to himself and to his friends by not taking proper care of himself.

 

Kairi let her eyes gaze up at Sora, a questioning look on her face. "Hm?" she hummed, wondering what it was he needed to say. In fact, as she looked at him, he didn't look that good...

 

Sora felt things move--No, it was his imagination. He felt as if he were about to lose his footing he was so dizzy. "You were right," he told her, bringing a hand to his head. "I'm....not alright." His vision suddenly disappeared, along with his senses. He fell to the ground in a faint, sweat coating his forehead.

 

Kairi gasped, immediately rising to her feet. "Sora!" she cried, rushing over to his side. She got down on the ground and put a hand on his shoulder in fear. "Sora?" she called to him, her voice showing her fear and immediate worry.

Roxas sad underneath a tree in his front yard with Namine, taking in the gentle wind of the afternoon. He looked toward the house then, for some reason getting this indescribable feeling. He brushed it off, though, wanting to enjoy the time with Namine.

 

Namine sat forward a little bit, feeling something impact her heart. "Do you..." She trailed off at first, feeling bad about bringing up something that could possibly be bad. But she pushed off that feeling, because it was something she needed to ask. "Do you feel like something is wrong?" she asked, feeling something unexplainable inside her.

 

"Sora!" Kairi said again, her voice growing higher in worry. "Sora, wake up!" She lightly shook his shoulder, noting briefly that this thankfully wasn't his injured shoulder.

Roxas turned his head, giving Namine a look. "You felt it too?" he asked, worry suddenly striking him. The feeling had been in his chest, something impacting his heart. If he felt it...and Namine felt it, something surely had to be wrong...
