Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Sora noticed some medicine on the end-table by him, which made him remember what had happened right before he went to sleep. His eyes wandered the area to see where Kairi was, but he didn't have to look long. His eyes softened when his eyes landed on her form, the girl having fallen asleep as well. A small smile appeared on his face at the peaceful expression she wore, the brunet more thankful that he could possibly show that she was alright and still with him.

 

Kairi continued to sleep, unaware of the gaze that rested on her form. The rhythm of her breathing was normal, regular, showing that she was resting peacefully.

 

Still, though, Sora was a bit concerned for her comfort. After all, falling asleep with her head on his leg probably wasn't the most comfortable position for her. Without thought, he reached for the pillow behind his shoulder and gently worked on getting it on his lap and under Kairi's head.

 

Kairi took in a breath at the slight movement, but other than that, it wasn't any bit of a disturbance to her sleep.

 

After Sora was satisfied Kairi was more comfortable, he turned to the end table beside him. He saw the pills next to the water and he took one pill, then a sip of water, and then did the same with the second pill. After about ten minutes, he fell back asleep, his hand on Kairi's shoulder.

 

OOC: I figured you wanted a time gap. ;D

Kairi heard the slight chirping of birds from the nearby window, the sound faint to her ears as she slowly began to wake up. She opened her eyes a little bit and noticed that by the sunlight it was later in the afternoon. She blinked a few times, but then noticed something was different; what was so soft against her face? She turned her head a little bit and discovered that there was a pillow underneath her head now, and on her shoulder, was Sora's hand.

 

OOC: You were right. ;3

Sora had his chin on his chest as he slept, the teen basically in the same position Kairi had seen him in earlier. There was one difference, though, and that was that his torso was facing a bit more towards Kairi, his injured shoulder not touching the couch at all. The medicine really hadn't helped the pain at all, or at least, if felt that way to him.

 

Kairi turned over a little bit, peering up at Sora. His shoulder no longer had the pillow behind it, and she was sure that was because he put it underneath her head while she was sleeping. Kairi frowned at the idea, her eyebrows furrowing over her blue eyes. He had no reason to do that, even if he thought it would be more comfortable for her. He was the one who needed it more. Didn't he realize that?

 

Sora released a silent breath, feeling some sunlight from the window on his face. It made him feel uncomfortably warm, and once again, he felt himself coming out of his slumber.

 

Kairi let her eyes rest on the hand on her shoulder and she used one of her own to gently lift it off of her. She placed it in Sora's lap as she sat up quietly and carefully, so she wouldn't disturb him. She hadn't expected to wake up in this mood, but Sora's generosity wasn't needed this time. He needed to worry more about himself than her, especially in his condition.

 

Sora exhaled a breath as a sigh, feeling his hand being set in his lap. He was confused by the action, so he wanted to wake up fully to find out what was going on and why it was moved. He lifted his chin off his chest a little bit, eyes opening a crack.

 

Kairi sat up straight, her eyes on Sora's face. She could see he was awake now, for the most part. She hadn't meant for her movement to wake him, but it was too late for that now.

 

Sora brought his hand off his lap and groggily wiped at his eyes, trying to get rid of his sleepiness. He opened his eyes a bit more, blinking when some light from the window shone at his bright blue orbs.

 

Kairi's eyes briefly glanced at the table, seeing that the pills were gone. Obviously Sora had woken up and taken them. At the thought, Kairi figured he must have done that when he gave her the pillow.

 

Sora felt the urge to stretch, which was natural, since he fallen asleep sitting up. He prepared to stretch his arms first, but then he realized that would have been a bad move with his injured shoulder. And did he have the room? He thought he sensed somebody next to him...

 

Kairi still held a frown on her face, still upset that Sora would do that when he was the one in need of comfort. "Sora?" she called from beside him, seeing that he was now wide awake. He had yet to look at her, though. Didn't he noticed she was up?

 

Sora blinked at the voice and quickly realized that, sure enough, somebody was next to him. He turned his head and saw Kairi looking at him, which surprised him in a way. She had really been out last time he woke up, after all. "You're awake," he said softly, sounding a little tired and groggy.

 

Kairi nodded wordlessly, biting her lip a little to hide her frown. She knew Sora wouldn't really like to see her upset as soon as he woke up, especially since he sounded so tired still...

 

Sora brought up his hand again and rubbed his eye, seeing an unpleasant expression on Kairi's face. "You sleep okay?" he asked, confused as to what the expression on her face meant. Was she still tired?

 

Kairi nodded to tell him he was correct. She glanced at the pillow on his lap a second after, the girl continuing to nibble on her lip as she looked back up at Sora. As frustrated as she was at the situation, she didn't like being angry with him...
