Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Sora let his eyes fall shut, unable to keep them open at that moment. His thumb stopped stroking Kairi's hand at that moment, but not because he was going to sleep. "Shoulder hurts too bad," he mumbled, tired and sad to say the words aloud. And I want to be with you, he added, only thinking the words to himself.

 

"I'll go get you some medicine, okay?" Kairi offered, her eyes growing with more concern as she gazed at the boy she loved. Sora really was tired, but it was too bad his shoulder was hurting him. That was why she said she would get the medicine; she wanted what was best for him, and right now that was pain relief and sleep.

 

Sora nodded and lifted his head, his blue eyes opening fully again. "Please do," he requested, a weak smile on his lips. He felt that he would only get some rest if his shoulder stopped throbbing, and the only way that was going to happen was with some medicinal help.

 

Kairi offered Sora a small smile as she nodded. She squeezed his hand before slipping hers out of his and standing, heading for Roxas's kitchen so she could get Sora some medicine.

 

Sora let his hands stay at his sides as he leaned his head into the back of the couch again. His eyes fell shut as he released a breath. He felt a bit uncomfortable sitting up, but he couldn't find the strength to move at all. So he sat still, a breath leaving his lips as he allowed himself to sink deeper into the back of the couch.

 

Kairi wasn't sure where the medicine was in Roxas's house, but she remembered seeing him have something in the kitchen once. She went into the room and lucky for her, she saw some aspirin already on the counter. She already knew where the glasses were, so she got everything ready so Sora could take the medicine.

 

Sora was hesitant to lose his grip on reality again, but he knew that whether he liked it or not, he was going to fall asleep. He wasn't even sure he needed the medicine now, actually. He saw a pillow on the couch beside him and he grabbed it, placing it lightly between his injured shoulder and the couch. Surprisingly, he felt much more comfortable.

 

Kairi grabbed the small glass of water and the two pills, holding each in a different hand as she started out of the kitchen. She wasn't even sure if Sora would use the water, considering he didn't usually in the past. But he might have been thirsty or things may have changed this time around, so Kairi took it with her anyway.

 

Sora exhaled a silent breath, his head down and chin on his chest. He wasn't completely asleep, not yet. He was halfway there, though, and he didn't even realize it when Kairi re-entered the room.

 

Kairi stopped just inside the room, a small smile appearing on her lips at the sight of Sora. To her, he appeared asleep. So she walked past him and set the pills and water on the endtable next to the couch.

 

Sora thought he heard some soft footsteps on the carpet in front of him, which was something his ears would only pick up because he was so well trained. But he couldn't respond to it, even if he wanted to. He was pretty much unconscious, and he would be out completely very soon.

 

Kairi bit her lip, careful not to wake Sora. She silently and carefully sat down next to the boy she loved, her eyes staying on him the entire time.

 

Sora took in a breath through his nose and then released it slowly, the teen completely losing his grip on reality and falling into a slumber. Though he didn't know it, Kairi's gentle presence beside him was what allowed him to finally fall asleep. His heart had sensed her presence, and that was good enough for him.

 

Kairi leaned back into the couch quietly, letting the side of her head rest on the back of the sofa. Her eyes, however, stayed glued to the boy next to her. He looked so innocent as he slept, and she found herself smiling in the silence.

 

OOC: I'm ready for a time gap if you are. x3

The only movements Sora made while he rested was the rising and falling of his chest, which was naturally caused by his breathing. Thankfully, he didn't subconsciously move his injured arm; that would have woken him up for sure.

 

OOC: Then let's do it. ;D

After a few minutes, the rhythm of Sora's breathing and his overall presence made Kairi begin to feel tired. She blinked a few times, her eyelids becoming heavy on her as she sat there, next to the boy who had her heart. With him nearby, she was at peace, especially in the silence. The knowledge only provided more support for her to sleep.

 

OOC: I guess you're expecting me to lead. xP

A while later, Sora was still asleep. He was so comfortable that he had forgotten he wasn't even in his own home. It was Roxas', though, so that made it close enough to home for him to relax. He released a breath, unaware of the position of the girl he loved.

 

OOC: Yeah. xDD

Kairi slept on her side, her head resting against Sora's leg. She hadn't been able to stay awake much after Sora fell asleep, so she took a nap as well. She breathed evenly as she slept, comfortable in the presence of Sora.

 

Sora moved his shoulder in his sleep, starting to feel uncomfortable. The moment he did, though, pain shot through his entire arm. He winced faintly and furrowed his brows, a hand moving to the shoulder. He opened his eyes partway and looked at it, a frown evident on his face.

 

Kairi slept peacefully, no nightmares invading in on her sleep. She dreampt of nothing, but that didn't mean her rest wasn't worthwhile.
