Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Namine's eyes widened at the scene in front of her. Sora appeared alright, but since he was in the middle of a battle, that could easily change. She didn't know much about battles, but it looked to her like this one had been going on for a while now. Sora looked exhausted, as did the other man.

Sora grunted at the sound of Kairi's voice, that being the last thing he expected at that moment. He did a back-flip to avoid a fatal blow and then hit Johnis hard while he was vulnerable, sending him flying across the room.

 

Roxas watched as the mysterious man went flying across the room, but then he focused back on Sora, his eyebrows furrowing. He looked exhausted, and Roxas knew that his fight probably wouldn't last much longer unless he had some help. Roxas uncurled his tight fists, preparing to summon his Keyblades.

Kairi took a few steps forward, her eyes on the boy she loved. As far as his appearance, she knew that Sora wasn't in the best of shape. It seemed that he had been fighting for a while now.

 

Sora released a breath and turned to his friends, his eyes immediately landing on Roxas. He saw the look in his friend's eyes and shook his head. "Don't do it, man," he said lowly. "He doesn't know you." If Johnis was being monitored, which wasn't likely, then it would be bad for Roxas to be seen with Keyblades. Even though they were probably alright, it wasn't a risk Sora was willing to take.

 

Roxas saw the look in Sora's eyes and he sucked in a breath through his nose, fighting the urge to do what he wanted. But by the seriousness of Sora's tone, he knew he needed to listen. Roxas's hands balled into fists and he resisted the summoning of his Keyblades, against his own will of course.

"Sora! Are you alright?" Kairi called, taking another step forward. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Roxas step with her, obviously keeping his promise to Sora.

 

Sora had already turned his back to Kairi when she called out to him, but he nodded to answer the question, both for her sake and for his friends' sakes. They deserved to know too, so he was glad she asked aloud. However, he didn't have a chance to stick around for anymore conversation. Johnis was getting back up on his feet. Sora grasped his Keyblade more tightly and ran toward his foe, needing to finish the battle before he was too exhausted to move.

Namine bit her lip, staying back. Sora may have signaled that he was alright, but he still didn't look too good.

 

Roxas walked a few steps forward and stood in front of Kairi, turning to her. "We need to get back," he instructed, and he could see the concern on her face. She obeyed anyway, backing up a few steps to stand next to Namine. He was glad they were staying close; it was easier to watch over them that way.

 

Unfortunately for Sora, Johnis wasn't as ill-prepared as he had hoped. In fact, he nearly lost his balance when Johnis retaliated from Sora's attempt at an attack and swung at him. Sora lifted a Keyblade in defense feeling something in his free palm. It was a charm he had been saving for an emergency, and this was definitely and emergency. He curled his fingers tighter around the charm, a protective shield surrounding him for a second before it exploded. His blue jeans were now black, and his white shirt was now red. And, instead of the charm in his left hand, he now held his Ultimate Weapon. He was in Valor Form now; that would help him out a lot.

Johnis recovered from the blast of the shield and charged forward again, confused by the transformation but not willing to stop his attacks. Sora was coming with him, end of discussion.

 

Kairi watched the transformation with stunned eyes, watching Sora use his power. She was both scared for him and holding hope within her for him. She wished she could help somehow, hating to see him like this. But she knew there was nothing she could do, and what was worse, Roxas couldn't either. He was the only one eligible to fight among the three of them on the sidelines, but Sora told him not to expose himself. This only increased her worry for Sora, the girl watching the battle with alarmed eyes.

 

Not only did Valor Form give Sora the ability to wield two Keyblades, but it also gave him a lot of renewed strength. Well, until he transformed back, anyway. Then he'd be too weak to even lift a finger. He gritted his teeth and attacked again, staying on the offensive. He needed to defeat this guy before he lost all his strength. It was cutting it close, but it was his only choice.

 

Roxas turned back around, standing a few feet in front of the girls. He still had the urge to summon his Keyblades as he watched the fight, not enjoying standing helpless on the sidelines. But he knew there was nothing he could do. Sora told him to lay low about it, but that didn't mean he wanted to do it. But he understood that by doing this, he was protecting Namine and Kairi. He knew that was more important than charging into battle when he shouldn't.

 

The fight for the next few minutes was intense. Sora pretty much was kicking Johnis' butt. In fact, Johnis had only gotten one hit on the brunet while Sora had gotten in too many to count. That was all because of his offensive determination and the power of Valor Form. Sora took one more swing and knocked Johnis back again, the blow being nearly fatal. He was just about to charge forward again when he suddenly felt dizzy. The teen grunted and looked down instinctively, seeing the Keyblade in his left hand fade away while his clothes changed back to normal.

 

Roxas watched from the sidelines, hands balled into tight fists at the tension in the room. His eyes were narrowed as he observed the fight, watching Sora's moves but at the same time paying close attention to his mysterious opponent. He still didn't know who he was, where he came from, and how he acquired a blade like that.

Kairi's forehead creased with worry as her eyes were glued to the flight. Her heart was beating quickly against her chest at the intensity. Sora had been doing well so far, and she watched as his clothes began to change back from his form. She knew that his power was lessening because of it, and she wasn't sure what that kind of impact would have on the fight before her.

 

Sora gasped and felt his knees start to tremble beneath him. He fell down to one knee, the Kingdom Key still loosely in his right hand. I gotta finish it...he thought weakly, lifting his eyes to look for his opponent across the rink.

Johnis, using whatever energy he had left, was already charging forward, seeing Sora severely weakened and vulnerable. He growled and lifted his blade in preparation to hit him.

Sora felt a wave of panic hit his heart, his facial expression reflecting that feeling. He got up off his knee and blocked the blow, but he stumbled back a few steps because of the force behind it.

 

"Sora!" Kairi cried naturally, afraid for the boy she loved. She instinctively took a step forward, even though there was nothing she could do to help him. He appeared to be weaker, just like she had predicted. And now it seemed as if the fight was no longer going to be in his favor. As much as she didn't want to think that, she couldn't help it. Sora's powers were lessening by the second.

Roxas watched with alarmed eyes, itching to summon his Keyblades but knowing he had to listen to Sora and protect the girls. But he couldn't just sit there and watch his friend deal with this guy alone! Roxas hated being in these kinds of positions, but he promised Sora he would watch over Kairi...

 

Namine bit down hard on her lip, bringing a hand to her mouth as she watched the battle. If she thought things were bad when they first arrived, they were terrible now.

As Johnis performed the same attack over and over again, Sora kept having the same response--barely deflecting the sword and being forced back a few steps. One blow, though was too much for him. As he saw the sword come down, he shut his eyes tightly, bracing for the attack. As soon as Johnis' sword impact him, Sora felt himself fly backwards into a wall, hitting his head against the edge of the rink. A soft groan left his lips as he laid face-down on the ground, completely unable to move.

Johnis, a trained killer, actually hesitated because of the look of vulnerability that crossed Sora's facial expression before he hit the ground. He's just a kid...he thought, somewhat sad. But then he shook it off. Oh well, this was his job. He walked forward, blade at his side as he moved into finish off Sora.

 

Roxas watched the scene unfold and he grit his teeth, growling a little as his hands uncurled from their fists. That was it.

Kairi brought a hand to her mouth at the action, one part of the scene playing over and over again in her mind: Sora's face. He had appeared so...weak, and vulnerable. It was something she had never seen before, and the realization impacted her heart a little bit. "Sora!" she hollered, immediately taking a few steps forward. Roxas stopped her, putting his arm out.

"Not yet," he muttered, giving her a look. She nodded in understanding and he glanced at Namine before he summoned his Keyblades, running forward. "Hey!" he cried, his feet now on the rink as he ran forward. He had to act as a distraction, so Sora would be out of the line of fire.

 

Sora heard the sound of his name faintly, but he couldn't respond, verbally or silently. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Johnis approach, but there was absolutely nothing he could do. Unable to keep his focus, he saw everything go fuzzy. And then his eyes shut completely, the teen losing consciousness.

Namine clenched her free hand in a small fist, seeing Roxas run off into battle. Be careful...she thought worriedly. She couldn't bear to see Roxas hurt; she had been in that position way too many times in the past.

Johnis turned around at the call. He had almost forgotten about the presence of the teens from Earth. When he saw the blond boy's weapons, though, he was immediately started. "K-Keyblades?!" he said in awe, totally shocked.

 

Roxas came to a stop in the middle of the rink, his blue eyes piercing the man before him. He flexed his jaw, gripping his Keyblades tightly. "You better believe it," he practically hissed, flipping Oblivion around in his hand before it settled back into its original position in his grasp. "You have to deal with me now."

Kairi looked from Roxas to the man and then to Sora. If she was correct, Roxas had silently told her to approach Sora's form when the man was away from that area. She would wait, but not with patience.

 

Johnis nervously shifted over to the side a few steps, moving away from Sora. "H-how is that possible?!" he thought aloud in wonder. That punk was just an earth kid! There was no way a kid from this lousy planet could wield one Keyblade, let alone two, naturally.

 

Roxas smirked slightly. "I guess you didn't look that much into your target," he said, his grip adjusting on his blades. It seemed that this guy was uneducated on the topic of Nobodies. Maybe Roxas would have to explain it to him, either through words or actions.

Kairi glanced over her shoulder at Namine as she took a few steps over to the direction of Sora's location. She might need her friend's help, but first she needed to make sure that the coast was clear. Even though this guy seemed pretty occupied with Roxas, he wasn't that far away from Sora.
