Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Namine looked up at Kairi, seeing a look in her eye that she immediately understood. "Through your heart?" Namine guessed aloud. That was the only way she could think of possibly working, anyway.

Sora clenched his fist more tightly. "I'm not going with you," he said evenly, anger rising up inside him. There was no way he'd willingly leave behind his loved ones, ever. He'd fight if he had to, which he was getting a feeling he would. The sense of doom depend in his heart when he saw a dark cloud swirling around the bounty hunter's hand.

Johnis summoned a blade into his right hand, his dark green eyes staring at the bright blue across from him. "You don't have a choice," he said darkly. "I'm taking you."

 

Kairi nodded to Namine. "That's right," she confirmed. "The connection is too strong for just communication. I have a feeling I can find him, and I want you guys to come with me." She looked from Namine to Roxas, and she instantly recognized the look in Roxas's eyes, having seen it many times before in someone else's eyes.

"There's no way we're letting you go alone," Roxas stated, uncrossing his arms. "I was told to look after you, and that's exactly what I'm going to do." He had planned to go with her from the very beginning. This sounded dangerous, even with the little information they had. And if Namine was going, he was going to protect her at all costs as well.

 

Namine nodded in agreement with Roxas. There was no way they would let Kairi walk into a dangerous situation all by herself, especially when Roxas was under orders from Sora to protect her. Before Roxas had even spoken, she had known he would say something like that.

Sora repositioned himself into a battle-stance and summoned the Kingdom Key into his right hand, his eyes never leaving Johnis. "What're you getting out of this?" he questioned, trying to talk the man out of a fight. If he was a bounty hunter, than a fight would be a challenge. Sora was hoping to avoid it completely, if he could.

"Money," Johnis said simply. He smiled for a moment and then frowned, charging at the Keyblade bearer with weapon in hand. Sora deflected the blow and then the battle began.

 

Kairi smiled slightly, grateful. But then that smile faded when she listened to the feeling in her heart. "Something tells me he's somewhere in the city," she started. "I think the feeling will get stronger as we get closer."

Roxas nodded. "Then let's get going," he said. The sooner they got to Sora, the better.

 

Namine stopped leaning on the tree and stood upright, nodding once more. They needed to get a move-on if they were going to find Sora before things got worse.

 

Kairi nodded and turned around, starting out of the backyard immediately. She wanted to get to Sora as soon as possible. The sensation she had received earlier was too deep to avoid, and it gave her a bad impression on what was happening.

Roxas motioned for Namine to go on ahead, wanting to take the rear and let Kairi lead. He trusted her, for she trusted her heart. She would lead them to the right place, he was sure of it.

 

Namine followed Roxas' wishes and walked out behind Kairi. She had no clue where they were going or what was in store for them, but she trusted that things would be alright. They had always turned out okay before, so she doubt this was any exception.

 

Kairi walked along the streets of New York, knowing her two friends were right on her tail. The feeling in her heart was getting stronger, which meant she was getting closer to where Sora was. She stopped at an intersection, wondering which way to go. Instead, she listened to her heart, closing her eyes through all the hustle and bustle. She finally opened them, turning around to her friends. "This way!" she said, turning to her right and continuing down the street.

Roxas nodded and followed without hesitation. Kairi had been leading them for the past ten minutes through the city, but she seemed pretty confident in what she was doing and where they were going.

 

Namine nodded wordlessly and followed Kairi, her eyes naturally wandering. She still didn't know what their destination was, but she trusted that Kairi was leading them in the right direction.

 

As Kairi walked, she noticed they were approaching a more secluded area of the city. It reminded her much of the warehouse she had been held captive in earlier that year. The comparison sent uneasiness through her body, immediately showing her that things were indeed wrong.

 

Namine clasped her hands in front of her, avoiding eye-contact with the few people that were in this area. It wasn't near as busy as the main part of the city. In fact, things just felt...eerie, somehow.

 

Roxas walked behind the girls, his eyes taking in the scenery--as bleak and abandoned as it was. "Are we close?" he asked, looking past Namine and to the girl leading them. Things had changed, and Kairi seemed more urgent.

Kairi focused ahead, a hand on her heart. "Yeah," she confirmed. "Very close." The sensation inside her was almost at its peak, or at least it felt that way. She knew they were closer to Sora's location than before.

 

Namine nervously put a hand in her short's pocket, her blue eyes wandering to the ground as she walked. She wasn't nervous because she felt like they were in danger at that moment, but because they had no clue what to expect. But soon they would have their answers...hopefully.

 

Kairi stopped when she reached a corner and looked around. When her eyes were set in the right direction, a tremendous amount of warmth impacted her heart. Kairi sucked in a breath at the feeling. But then she focused on what was in that direction. An abandoned building was what she saw first, and a tingling sensation went through her.

When they came to a stop, Roxas looked in the direction Kairi was focusing on. He saw what appeared to be an abandoned hang-out. By the old sign above the building that had rollerblades, it was obvious what it was. "Is that where we need to go?" he asked, pointing at the building. He watched as Kairi nodded, and Roxas let his arm fall, his eyebrows furrowing as he stared at the building.

 

Namine followed Roxas' point and looked to the building. It looked shady enough, and she had little doubt that this could be the place where Sora was. After all, if Kairi had led them here, then surely it was because of Sora's presence.

At this point, the battle was at a standstill. The two stood about ten feet away, panting and sweating heavily. It had been a hard fight thus far, and it seemed as if they were evenly matched. Sora grunted and charged forward again, hoping to catch Johnis off guard.

 

He's in there, Kairi thought to herself. And I can't help but feel uneasy about it. The place alone appeared scary, even in the daylight. She turned to her friends, knowing they had to get in there. "C'mon," she encouraged, taking off toward the building in a light run.

Roxas nodded and looked to Namine before following the redhead. This was what it came down to, and he had to be sure to protect both of the girls. One reason was because he cherished one immensely, and the other reason was because he promised Sora. But he cared for both of them, which evened out the odds.

 

Namine followed after her two friends, keeping up with them. I hope Sora and Riku are alright, she thought worriedly, keeping her eyes on the building.

Johnis, however, wasn't caught off guard at all. He raised his blade and caught onto Sora's forcing it down to the ground. Sora grunted and tried to pull his blade away from the ground and Johnis' sword, but he couldn't. However, Johnis couldn't attack either, since he was busy restraining Sora.

 

Roxas ran ahead of the girls just in case something unexpected happened. He approached the building and stopped, looking through the windows in the door. He didn't see anything, but it was awfully dark in there. He watched Kairi come up beside him and then he looked to Namine. "We're going to have to be very careful," he declared. "Both of you stay behind me."

Kairi nodded once in understanding, her eyes looking past Roxas and through the window of the door. Whatever was going on in there, she hoped she would be able to get her two best friends out.

 

Namine nodded wordlessly. She shouldn't have been surprised Roxas would take the lead; obviously something was going on in that building....Something bad.

When Johnis slipped up and took of some of the pressure, Sora was quick to pull out his Keyblade. He jumped back just as Johnis recovered and took another swing at him, the blade barely missing his shoulder.

 

Roxas nodded at their reactions and silently pulled the door open, stepping in and knowing the girls would follow. As soon as he walked in, he heard noise. The clashing of blades. He ran forward without thought at the sound, his eyes widening when he saw the sight before him.

Kairi saw that Roxas had rushed forward and she did the same, stopping slightly behind him when the sounds echoing in the building actually registered. She saw two people and immediately recognized one of them. "Sora!" she cried out, her voice showing a mix of relief and fear. He was there, in front of her, but the situation wasn't good. It never had been.
