Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

"Aww, Kaiwi," Sora whined again, doing the opposite action of Kairi. While she rose to her feet, he sat down on his knees, his bit blue eyes never leaving the redhead.

 

Kairi chuckled, shaking her head. She had to get back to work, no matter how cute this distraction was. She forced herself to look at the bowl on the counter once she was standing. However, it was hard to keep her eyes away from Sora, especially when that face was just adorable.

 

"Are you ignowing me?" Sora asked innocently, batting his eyelashes twice even though Kairi wasn't looking at him. He was starting to wonder if he should just stand up and force her to pay attention to him, but he was trusting in his pouting-abilities to accomplish that.

 

Kairi put her hands on the island's edge, fighting with herself. She closed her eyes and sighed, smiling a little at Sora's tone. She was playing along with this whole thing, trying to prove that she really couldn't fall for the puppy-dog pout. But it was getting really difficult now. She turned her head a little in Sora's direction, but kept her eyes closed. "No," she answered softly.

 

"Then why won't you wook at me?" Sora asked, sticking out his lower lip. He could tell Kairi would give in soon; it wasn't easy getting her to this point, but his puppy-dog look was apparently stronger than he even knew.

 

Kairi sighed, pouting herself as she moaned in disappointment that she was actually giving in to this. She opened her eyes slowly, and instantly smiled at the look on Sora's face. "Aww, Sora!" she whined, a sad, defeated expression taking over her features.

 

Sora couldn't keep up his puppy-dog look now that Kairi had finally given in. He laughed and smiled, feeling victorious. Yup, Kairi could never resist the look he had been giving her the past few minutes.

 

Kairi huffed, turning her attention back to the bowl in front of her now that Sora's look was gone. "You're too good at that," she said, frowning slightly. He really was; it was hard to resist that.

 

Sora laughed, placing a hand on the ground as he started to push himself up. "You're just saying that because you couldn't resist it," he said teasingly, a loving smile on his lips.

 

"You know I can't," Kairi replied softly, forgetting the fact that she needed the salt for now and instead started adding a different ingredient. "That's why you pulled that card." The tone and the expression were his secret weapons. It was sad, really, that she fell so easily to that.

 

Sora chuckled, bringing a hand to the back of his head. "Yeah..." he said sheepishly, agreeing. But hey, he had gotten to see Kairi put up a decent fight, and it had been pretty adorable seeing her that way.

 

"So unfair..." Kairi muttered, keeping her eyes trained on the bowl sitting on the countertop. She finished with the brown sugar and reached for the flour again, realizing she needed a little bit more.​

 

"Aww, you know you love it," Sora said sweetly, flashing Kairi a grin as he looked at her from a side view. Everything was all in good fun; surely she saw that.

 

Kairi shook her head slightly, letting out a stifled chuckle behind her closed lips. It was one of both amusement and disbelief. She couldn't believe she gave in again. She had tried so hard to refuse the pout, something that had been even more difficult in the past. She stayed silent as she poured in a little more flour, getting some of it on her hands.

 

"What; ignoring me again?" Sora asked teasingly, a smile on his lips. "You know this can't end well, Kai..." He reached a hand out and lightly set it on her arm, his eyes staying on that area.

 

Kairi finished with the flour and smiled slightly. "Yeah, yeah..." she said, despite herself. She flicked the flour on her hands subconsciously, not realizing that she spread it all over Sora as she reached for another ingredient.

 

Sora's eyes widened in surprise when he felt the flour go all over his face. He blinked and brought up a hand to wipe it off, but he only smeared it worse. "Kairi!" he exclaimed, shocked that she had just done that. His pouting must have really been taking a toll on her if she thought it was necessary to flick flour at him.

 

"What?" Kairi asked, finishing pouring the sugar in when she turned her head. Her eyes widened and she covered her mouth. She stifled her laughter the best she could, the expression and flour on Sora's face too amusing.

 

"What? You think that's funny?" Sora asked teasingly. "Then you'll love this." He reached into the sugar container next to him and grabbed a handful. Then he held his hand over Kairi's head, sprinkling the sugar over her red hair.

 

Kairi gasped, her hand leaving her face as her eyes immediately widened and looked up as if to see what was going on atop her head. She could feel the sugar set in her strawberry-colored hair, but that didn't mean she was the dessert!
