Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Sora nodded softly one time, a gentle smile staying on his lips. He brought his clean hand up and lightly set it on Kairi's cheek before he leaned forward, planting a light kiss on her forehead. And then he pulled back, a small smile still gracing his face. Gosh, he loved her...He couldn't get enough of showing her that simple fact.

 

Kairi felt her smile grow a little, the girl lifting her head to look at her boyfriend. He was the love of her life, and even though she hadn't seen much of this world--or any worlds, really--she knew she didn't have to. Sora was the one for her, and she felt that in her heart.

 

Sora smiled softly and let his hand slide lightly off her face, his bright blue eyes never leaving hers. "In case I haven't told you lately," he said gently. "I love you." He would never take advantage of the people in his life by assuming they knew something that seemed so obvious to him, especially not Kairi. He would always be willing to tell Kairi his feelings for her. Always.

 

Kairi found herself grinning in seconds. "I love you too, Sora," she said, honesty heavy in her voice. She was aware of the warmth in her chest, recognizing that the words had passed through her heart as well. It wasn't a lie, and never would be. This boy meant too much to her to lose, and she wasn't planning on doing that anytime soon.

 

Sora's small smile widened at Kairi's words, both the verbal ones and the silent ones. He reached forward and grabbed one of her hands, not even thinking that there could have possibly been food remains on it. It didn't make a difference to him, though, so he didn't notice either way.

 

Kairi looked into the eyes of the boy she loved, admiring the brightness and beauty of them. She would never, ever grow tired of the color or the look she saw in them. By the way Sora made her feel, she knew he loved her. And that was all she could ask for.

 

Sora blinked once, his eyes tired from staring. Isn't it rude to stare? he asked himself, mentally deciding whether to look away or not. He decided he didn't care if it was rude or not; he couldn't bring himself to look away from Kairi's bright blue orbs even if he wanted to. And that was the last thing he wanted to do.

 

Kairi gave in to the urge she had inside, leaning forward and tilting her chin up. She pressed her lips lightly to Sora's, kissing him gently. This was just one of the many ways she showed her feelings toward him, but it was obvious how she felt for him by just the way she looked at him sometimes.

 

Sora immediately allowed his eyes to flicker shut, the brunette feeling chills at Kairi's gentle kiss. That was something he loved about their relationship...the fiery love they felt for each other never diminished. That's how he knew that their love would last forever.

 

Kairi let her lips linger on Sora's for a few seconds before she lightly and gently pulled away. Her eyes slowly opened, the girl smiling softly at the expression on her boyfriend's face. He was adorable, and that was one of the things she loved about him.

 

Sora opened his eyes when Kairi pulled away, his eyes immediately finding hers again. Just from seeing the look in her eye, Sora couldn't help but let another small smile appear on his face. He loved seeing her happy...it's what he lived for.

 

Kairi felt shy again, and she looked to the side instinctively. Her eyes landed on the saucepan and she knew this moment had to end, no matter how much she hated the idea. "Um..." She tucked some of her hair behind her ear with her free hand, the other lightly squeezing Sora's. "We should probably get back to cooking," she said, looking the boy in the eye. His smile made hers grow slightly, and have her turn a little pink, but she kept eye-contact all the same.

 

Sora blushed slightly and looked to the ground; he had forgotten that there was work they needed to get done. "Right," he said in agreement, a small smile staying on his face as he looked back up at the girl he loved. He gently released her hand and allowed his to fall back at his side, knowing that they needed to get this done before her parents returned.

 

Kairi smiled slightly and turned her attention to the food. "All we need to do to the sauce is add salt and pepper, and a little bit of basil and oregano. We also need to shred the mozzarella," she informed Sora calmly. She glanced out the window right next to the counter, knowing that they had plenty of time before her parents got back.

 

'I can do the mozzarella," Sora volunteered. It sounded like the least complicated job that Kairi had said, so he was sure he wouldn't mess it up.

 

Kairi grinned, nodding. "Okay," she said. She pointed toward the island. "It's all ready for you." Her eyes rested back on the boy she loved, grateful for the help. She would get done much faster now that he was here.

 

Sora looked over and saw that, sure enough, it was all set up. He nodded slightly and silently offered Kairi one more smile before he headed over to do the work.

 

Kairi looked after Sora for a second before turning back to the saucepan. She grabbed the salt, dashing some into the pan as she remembered her mother doing.

 

Sora held the cheese in one hand and the shredder...thing in his other hand, the teen scraping the cheese while being careful not to hurt himself. He had little experience in the kitchen, but he had enough common sense to know what to do.

 

Kairi stirred the sauce with the wooden spoon she had laid out. She then grabbed the pepper, placing a little bit of it into the mixture. She was confident in her work, and she had a feeling that she was only going to have to do the basil and oregano.
