Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Kairi moved her thumb slightly along Sora's cheek, keeping her eyes locked on his. But then she did something that made her nerves grow. Kairi leaned her face closer to Sora's, touching her lips to his in a kiss. Her eyes closed at the motion, a warmth reaching her chest at the contact.

 

Sora felt Kairi's lips touch his and he immediately shut his eyes, lightly kissing her back. He felt the warmth impact his heart immediately, the brunet forgetting that they were standing right by an open door. He released his crutches and heard them fall to the ground, not that he cared. He set his injured foot on the ground and brought his arms forward, lightly wrapping them around Kairi to keep her close to him.

 

Kairi heard the crutches clatter, which only made her want to smile as she kissed Sora. She felt his arms wind around her and she felt her heart leap, the girl lifting her other hand to rest on the other side of Sora's face. He's kissing you back... The thought made Kairi feel joy, completely ignoring the cold weather behind her.

 

Sora gently pulled Kairi a little closer, though he felt pain in his bad ankle. He felt it, but he didn't care about it at all. Every sense of pain he had was clouded by the simple joy that he felt kissing Kairi, and having her kiss him back.

Namine had risen to her feet when she heard Sora's crutches fall, the blond concerned. Had he fallen down? She started toward the entrance hall but then stopped right in the doorway, a smile appearing on her lips when she saw Sora and Kairi in the doorway.

 

Roxas had glanced at Namine when he heard a sound he recognized: crutches falling to the floor. He knew that was bad from experience. Regardless, he got up after Namine did and followed her to the doorway. He saw the she had stopped and he stepped around her, his steps halting at the scene before him as well. Roxas's eyes found the crutches first, and then he looked up at Sora...and Kairi. He felt his lips spread into a smile immediately.

Kairi continued to kiss Sora, completely oblivious to the fact that they had an audience. She kissed him lightly, loving the way his strong arms felt around her. She realized then that she had missed this. A lot.

 

Namine looked at her two friends, a soft smile on her lips as she gazed at them. It was wonderful to see the two of them together again, just like it was meant to be. Kairi and Sora were meant for each other, and Namine felt happy just seeing that Fate had brought them together again.

After a few moments, Sora had to pull back, out of oxygen. However, he kept his forehead against Kairi's as a soft breath left his lips. Kairi was in his arms again. She had her hands on his cheeks, and she had just kissed him. After everything Sora had experienced over the past week, he couldn't have been happier that Kairi accepted him again.

 

Roxas hadn't heard anything when he sat in the living room, and he wasn't sure if it was because his friends had been talking quietly or were doing this most of the time. Either way, he was happy for them; they deserved happiness after all they went through recently.

Kairi kept her eyes closed as she took in a breath, her hands remaining on Sora's cheeks. The rush that had gone through her... She hadn't felt anything like that in the longest time, and she knew why. Sora, he hadn't been with her. That was the problem.

 

Namine glanced at Roxas, a soft smile still on her lips. Then she looked back over to Sora and Kairi, the blond unable to look away. They had just gone through a lot of trouble, and yet they were holding onto each other. Perhaps there was hope for her and Roxas, too.

Sora couldn't resist his next impulse, which was something he would have never pictured himself doing these days. He tightened his embrace around Kairi and moved back a step as he lifted her into the air, spinning her around in his arms a full circle before he set her back down near her original position, a soft chuckle of happiness leaving his lips.

 

Roxas blinked in surprise at Sora's move, shocked that he could do that with an injured ankle. Of course, he was sure his friend didn't even care anymore, now that he had the person he loved back in his arms.

Kairi had squeaked a little in surprise when Sora lifted her, but by the end of it, she was grinning in joy. Sora's chuckle reached her and echoed in her ears, a sound she hadn't heard for a long time. It was lovely, the girl letting her hands rest on his shoulders now. She looked up at him, her emotions being expressed through her eyes, just as Sora's were.

 

Sora ignored his throbbing ankle and smiled more widely, a grin on his lips as he looked down at Kairi. He couldn't have predicted he would have done that, but since Kairi was alright with it, he was too.

Namine brought a hand to her lips, stifling a giggle when she saw how Sora twirled Kairi around. It was an absolutely adorable thing to do, and she could tell that both of them were joyful to be near each other again.

Sora heard a noise and he immediately turned his head, seeing Roxas and Namine standing in the doorway to the room. He was surprised, and his grin faded a little bit. However, he wasn't upset; he had Kairi in his arms again, so there was no way he could be angry or bothered at a time like this.

 

Kairi turned her head a little bit when Sora did, and she saw Roxas and Namine staring at them with silly looks on their faces. "Hey..." she said, her eyebrows furrowing despite the smile on her face. She was about to accuse them of spying, but what Roxas did next made her stop.

Roxas's grin vanished as his eyes widened. "Uh-oh!" he said, knowing that he and Namine were caught in the act. He grinned sheepishly and then darted back into the living room before any words could be said.

 

Namine looked at Sora and Kairi for a brief moment before she followed Roxas into the living room, moving quickly. She was a little embarrassed that Sora and Kairi had caught them spying, but she was glad they didn't seem upset.

"Roxas!" Sora hollered, moving his hands to Kairi's shoulders as he looked over his shoulder in the direction of the living room. "You're lucky I can't run right now, 'cause if I could, you'd be dead meat!" he said, though his voice showed his good nature. He didn't care in the least that Roxas and Namine had been spying on them; it didn't make a difference.

 

Roxas plopped down in his chair again, and upon hearing the words, he simply laughed. It was good to know that things were getting back to normal.

Kairi heard Roxas's laughter echo into the entryway, and she chuckled herself. This moment, right here, made up for all of the ugly ones she had faced recently. Even if it didn't last that long.

 

Namine sat down on the couch, a few laughs leaving her as well. At least Sora had good humor about this; she hadn't heard him joke around for a long time, so she hadn't been sure if he still found certain things amusing or not.

Sora scowled playfully when he heard Roxas' laughter from the living room, along with Namine's. Kairi's laugh, though, was what made his scowl turn into a soft smile. He looked down at her with bright blue eyes, his hands remaining on her shoulders as he gazed at her.

 

Kairi looked away from the doorway that led to the living room when she felt a gaze on her, and she turned her head to match it. She smiled up at Sora, lifting a hand and lightly gripping the front of his shirt as she stood in front of him.

 

Sora looked behind Kairi, noticing for the first time in a while that the door was still open. "Want to join them?" he asked softly, a small smile on his lips as he gazed at Kairi. It would have been more comfortable for him, since his ankle was really hurting from him standing on it and putting pressure on it when he spun Kairi around.

 

Kairi nodded, her smile softening some. "Sure," she agreed. After a few more seconds of looking at the boy in front of her, she let her hand fall from his chest. She honestly hadn't even thought of stepping any further into the house, and now that she remembered what was going on around them, she noticed that she still had on her coat and boots. Kairi believed it was time to take them off.

 

Sora nodded softly, gently taking his hands off of Kairi's shoulders so that she could take off her coat. And then once they were both out of the door's way, then he could shut it and not allow any more cold air into his home. He took a step back, careful not to trip over the fallen crutches.

 

Kairi took a step forward when Sora stepped back, and then she walked around him a few steps, making sure to step over the crutches on the floor. She looked down at them in amusement, but otherwise started to take off her coat now that she was out of the way of the door, and the cold weather.

 

Sora took two steps forward when Kairi walked around him, the brunet hobbling a little bit on his bad foot. He winced and pushed the front door shut, blocking out the cold air. He tried to block the pain out of his expression as he shifted his gaze to the crutches lying on the floor, the teen knowing he would have to bend down and get them so he could walk to the living room.
