Whenever I IM someone on Facebook and they don't reply, a lot of times, a "seen" appears. How do you do that? For example, I just finished a short chat with a friend about hanging out sometime, and I asked if tomorrow would work. He said maybe (wasn't sure), and that he would message me, to which I replied with Alright, thanks. I'll be here. For now, take care. =) He didn't reply, but "v Seen 4:01 PM" appeared. Note: The "v" is a check mark.
I don't think there's a problem Amaury, I think he might have read it then gone off to to something. It happens quite a bit to everyone, so don't worry about it. c:
The 'Seen' message is an indicator that the person you're chatting with on Facebook has seen your IM, and it gives you the time in which they looked at it. It appears for you too, to them.
Ah, so it's automatic? That's what I was asking. If it was automatic or you did something? How does Facebook indicate if you've read it, though? Because sometimes, I don't see it appear, but they haven't replied, either.
It is shown when the flash cursor that appears when you type something is active in that text box. So if you want your friend to see that you've seen his message, you click the text box just like you would do if you wanted to type something and just leave it at that.
