I don't see anyone having trouble using the site because of a lack of knowledge or understanding. What I see is people having problems with a site that is different in many ways they would not have liked to have it. In the end you're just sugar coating, they're not going to learn anything. You're telling people that eventually they'll give into the reality and allow themselves to become subordinated by it.

It appears the developers are not Ayn Rand fans.

Sorry if optimism is considered suger coating.

Seriously, you have specific problems you say them. Saying that this site is ewww or not wht you expected it to be isn't anyone's fault.
I just post threads and talk to people online.

If you really hate this site, blame the people who have hacked it and tried to get member's personal details and passwords in the past.

Well hopefully that will teach people to not put their details online, if they aren't comfortable with complete strangers getting them. :)

Do people actually have to put the stuff online? I mean, if people willingly put the information up, then that is their fault, but there are things people can get past in order to find out information about others that people did not want known.

Expecting a certain outcome without significant basis for it is wrong. That's why I feel that optimism and pessimism are frequently detrimental to a clear and free view of the world.

I have been stating my specific problems. Other people have too. Don't assume that I was trying to victimize anyone, I pointed out problems and told you to be a little more straight with people. Things changed because someone thought they had to, because of actual verifiable reasons. I acknowledge that and it doesn't mean I should be all aboard the happy train over it.

I don't hate the site. If I hated this site, I'd be gone already and you'd all probably be the gladder for it.

You don't expect phone numbers, addresses and passwords to be nabbed by people in real life. Why should you online?

Edit: Actually, there's more of a chance of it online, so by default, you should be more careful.

I am just trying for people to feel happier. The world lacks this in many capacities, I just want others to try and feel positive. Positive feeling,s positive thoguhts, positive actions. You can have your opinions, I just want a little happiness for everyone.

You forget who you're talking to. I'd be sad if I never got to talk to you again.

IDK what you guys are talking about, but I've never given personal information about myself to people, and I've had some people find out my dad's name, look him up, find our where we live, what our home phone number is, and find everyone related to him.

Mainly it's just so staff could alert one another when contact was urgent/something very large was occurring and that specific person was needed.

As it was in the staff forum, it was thought to be very safe and sequestered where no one but other staff members could see it publicly like that. Not to mention there was also other personal info not related to staff at all, such as the Applications and Interviews within that section as well. Imagine having your interview seen by the people you didn't send it to? That's pretty much what PaW is trying to get at.

Everyone's privacy was breached, whether it was a staff phone number or a member's interview or heck, even a password. XenForo is far safer than vBulletin, and unless someone would rather have to live with their account and future apps/interviews being able to be subject to the masses, I do not think I see much of a problem with the software shift.

^ That's just my two cents, but yeah.

Honesty is the always the best policy. Honestly without any positive or negative spin is what people need more often than not. We aren't so immature that this, even if we aren't satisfied with it, is going to make us all sad pandas. So there's really no need to try and act like it's all unicorns and rainbows. Things changed a lot. They will now incrementally change until the site is in some reasonable working order and then things will remain more or less stable for a time before it hits the next big change. That's inevitable, no one's opinion of it will change it. We need a realistic evaluation of the situation because that's how we'll decide whether it's time to leave or time to head over the the suggestion box. Acting like everything is fine will only hurt the userbase in the long and short of it.

You'll see one day if that's true or not, but for the moment we'll assume that you are.

Happiness and optimism is not immature. I take each day as it comes, looking to the future is only so good, what you can do here and now is the most important. I am sorry that I have said something wrong. I apologise.

I've talked to you for years... I still miss it, even though I don't know what to say to you. I still feel of you like a close friend just because of how easy we have talked. I am sorry if you don't feel the same, but do not think I will not care if you leave.

    That's not how I feel.

I don't like trying to categorize or compare feelings. It's usually difficult and far from fruitful. I'd probably miss talking to you, but in the end I wasn't making a prediction I was just acknowledging that we'll part ways at some point and that you'd only know for sure then.

The only have 2 problems with it, 1 being is that it feels too wide, (well its the equivalent of the fixed width which i never used) and that the 'post new thread' button in on the right side instead of the left. But these are just my own personal preferences that I will have to get used to.

(oh it seems we are talking about depp now or something??? ignore me then)
