Eclipse: The City of Dreams

As the girl slashed him, he could do nothing, his asthma had overcome him and he turned a strange bluish-purple color. He managed to let out a small yelp as the girl slashed him again, this time on the side. What had he done to her? He curled up in a ball and with the last of his strength, kicked up, aiming to knock the wind out of her.

Why does this stuff always happen to me. Here I am, trying to mind my own business and I get sucked into Lord knows what?

Shigiku quickly flashstepped, avoiding the blow. However, she had flashstepped behind Laith, where she now tried to strike him again. Hearing his yell, she didn't do anything. Her blank look had turned into a scowl as she furiously attacked Laith.

However, Shane soon jumped out from behind a tree and began to block the hits with his blade. "You alright...?" He asked Laith, blocking as many of Shigiku's blows as he good. Shigiku! Not again... Please snap out of it!

 

Kiara had ran over to Shigiku and looked softly at her. Her eyes looked different, and her expression looked bleak again.
"No," she thought. She groaned and she pulled Shigiku up in her arms, holding her tightly. She tried to keep her in a tight grip, so that she wouldn't move. Se needed to keep her safe
"Shigiku, snap out of it!" she said. She tried to think hard about the last time she snapped out of it.

 

Shigiku struggled against Kiara's grip. She closed her eyes and let out a yell of anguish. A bright pink aura began to glow around her. It was as hot as a flame. "Let... Go...!" She shouted, struggling. Even though she had a look of anger on her face, tears streamed down her cheeks from her eyes, which were still glowing a bright pink. In almost no time at all, the flames around her had died down and she didn't struggle as much to get away. She was young, but with this power, she was strong.

Shane looked over at Shigiku sadly. He was mad at himself for not being able to keep this power away, but he had no idea what was causing it. All he knew that could stop it was to kiss her, but he couldn't do that to her again... She'd always hated it when he did that, and he didn't want to break her heart. D*mnit! He thought and looked down angrily. What can I do? What can I do to help her?! There has to be something that can get rid of this... End her suffering... Anything!

 

Laith cautiously uncurled. He was cut and scraped but not fatally. He stood and winced, gripping his arm, where a particularly large gash was. He backed away from them both, frightened. His courage and adrenaline had left him, leaving him weak and scared. He was only ten. There was only so much he could handle, and this was it. He grabbed his pack and was still backing away, afraid to turn his back on the group. Afraid they might kill him. Or that girl? Why was she trying to kill him? What did he do to her? He asked himself these questions as he slipped into the forest more and more.
I gotta get outta here!!

 

Shane noticed Laith leaving, but he didn't look at him. "You don't need to be afraid, you know... We won't hurt you..." He said and turned around to look at him, a sad smile on his face. "I'm really sorry about Shigiku attacking you like that..." He closed his eyes and sighed. "She's kind of going through a few things right now..." He noticed the tears running down her cheek. Hmm?! She's... crying...

Shigiku closed her eyes, tears running down her cheeks. She gave off a blood curling scream. At the same time, a wound started to form on her chest. Her eyes flickered back to her normal coloer and she fell unconcious. Blood ran down her shirt from the deep wound.

Shane's eyes widened at the wound. What in the world just happened?! He wondered and looked back at Laith. "Can you trust us?" He asked softly.

 

Laith saw Shigiku fall, saw the blood, and felt his instincts kicking in. He ran to her side and dropped to his knees. He pulled off his pack and grabbed his needle, gauze, a bowl, and a bottle of alcohol.

" I don't trust you........but 'll help you. Get me some water, from the creek over there and make a fire with this lighter. Boil the water and bring it back."

Laith took off his shirt, wadded it up and used to stop the bleeding.

 

Shane was surprised by his sudden actions, but he nodded and ran to the creek. He got some water and quickly ran back to him. He left the water by Laith and ran into the forest to get some firewood. Once he had collected it, he stacked it in a sort of pyramid to control the flames, and then set it on fire. Wiping the sweat from his forehead, Shane proceeded to boiling the water. He placed the water over the fire and waited for it to boil. He may not trust me, but I trust him... He won't hurt Shigiku... I'll get him to trust me, though... He needs somebody to help him heal his cuts...

Shigiku's breathing was shallow and her face was a bit pale. Sweat ran down her forehead as she struggled against the pain. However, she remained unconcious.

 

Laith was pushing hard against the wad of cloth and the blood lessened. He cut his eyes sideways, watching Shane's movements, almost waiting for him to attack. He shouldn't trust them. That was the first rule of the street: Don't trust anyone. The wad was soaked with blood, it was getting on his hands, and as he wiped the sweat from his face, it left a smear of blood on it. He didn't cringe away though, he knew what had to be done.

"How is the water coming," he said to Shane.

 

Shane quickly took the water off of the fire when it had finished boiling. "It's done," He replied, looking over at Shigiku. He saw the wad of cloth drenched and blood and winced at the sight. Shigiku... He thought worriedly as he brought the water over to Laith. he prayed that Shigiku wasn't badly hurt. How did she even get the wound? Nothing peirced her chest... Last time I checked, she was in a sort of trance... Nothing scraped her or anything... it just sort of appeared... bizzare...

Suddenly, a tear ran down Shigiku's cheek as she opened her eyes, but just barely. She saw some boy sitting next to her and Shane was next to him. Who is that...? She wondered, looking at Laith. She close her eyes again, not feeling enough strength to keep them open. I can't move... She thought and tears ran down her cheeks. Mommy... help...

 

Laith took the water from him and set it on the ground. Taking the needle, he dipped it into the water and rubbed it fiercely before drenching it in alcohol. He took his short and threw it to the side, wiping his sweat away with is forearm. His face turned red and he looked up at Shane, still distrustful but determined.
"I have to ask your permission......I must remove her shirt to proceed."

 

Shane's face turned red when he asked that. He'd have preffered that Laith didn't take of her shirt, but then he noticed the tears falling down her cheeks. She looked so sad and hurt, and it made him hurt inside to know she was feeling this way. He put a hand up to his own chest, thinking of how much pain she was in. He was well aware that she was in pain and wanted nothing more than to help her, so he simply looked away to hide his red face and nodded. "It's alright with me..." He said.

 

Lath worked as solemnly and quickly as he could. First he took the needle, now with a thread in it, and sewed up the gash, with ran horizontally across her stomach. Then he used the gauze to bandage the wound. All in all the process to about three hours and when he was done Laith put down the needle and cleaned it. He put everything away before slumping.
"Its done, she will be ok."
He winced as he hit his own cuts but just watched Shane warily.

 

Shane looked at Shigiku and smiled, seeing her sleeping peacefully. The tears on her face had dried and disappeared and Laith had fixed the gash on her chest and cleaned away the blood. "Thank you so much!" Shane said and smiled at Laith, glad that Shigiku would be okay. However, her noticed Laith winced. "We should bandage up your cuts immediately," Shane said, worriedly. "They could get infected." He smiled comfortingly at Laith. He wanted to gain his trust. It'd be nice to have him as a friend.

Shigiku had passed out from the pain while he was stitching up her wound. She slept uncomfortably until he was done, in which she then began to sleep peacefully. She opened her eyes in her dream to find herself laying in a field full of flowers. Sitting up, she looked around at the field. Where am I? She wondered.

Laith watched Shigiku for a moment before turning to look at Shane. His instincts told him to run, and flee but something held him there. He nodded slowly.
"Okay," he said quietly.
He got the roll of gauze out and began attempting to bandage his arm. It was quite hard for he could only use one arm because the other was being bandaged.

 

Shane walked over to Laith. Seeing him try to bandage his own arm, he smiled worriedly. "Here, let me help you..." Shane said and gently took the roll of gauze. He started to bandage up Laith's cuts and scrapes.

Suddenly, a tall figure walked up to her. the figure was quite familiar to Shigiku, and she jumped up. "M-Mommy?!" She said and ran up to her. The figure smiled and crouched down, holding her arms out for a hug. However, when Shigiku reached her, she awoke the moment they touched. She winced as she opened her eyes, looking at her surroundings.

 

Laith nodded and let Shane bandage his arms. He sat quite still and didn't say a word, but he didn't run either. Once Shane was done he put the stuff away.
"Thank you," said Laith.
He turned as he saw Shigiku waking up, fear spreading into his eyes.
She's gonna try to kill me again.....sh!t

 

Shane nodded and stood up. "You're welcome," He said and smiled. However, he looked over to see Shigiku waking up and sighed. I can't let her see me... He thought and turned around. "I have to go. Thank you for your help," Shane said to Laith before running off into the woods.

Shigiku saw Shane run off and sat up. "Sha-!" She was cut off by a sudden shock of pain in her chest. She let out a yell and fell back. Right... I'm injured... but why did he run? Shigiku thought and looked up at Laith. "Wh-Who are you...?" Shigiku asked him.

 

Laith looked at her hard, wondering why she didn't remember him.
Right, because thats the normal order of events, try to kill someone and then ask who they are.
He cautiously slide backwards a little.
"I'm Laith."
