Who actually knows what we celebrate on Easter? I sure don't

 

I think it's Jesus getting tortured and executed.

 

*Sigh of Exasperation.*

Jesus dies on the cross on Good Friday.
He rises from the dead on Easter Sunday.

A lot of other stuff happens during Holy Week but those are the main ones.

 

On the day Jesus rises from the dead (Easter? I'm not this religion..) we get presents and do stuff with bunnies.
on the day Jesus is born, we get presents.
Humans, pshh..

Actually,in the biblical times revolving Jesus' death, a day would have been considered nearly half a day by our standards. For example, if you went from evening to morning that would have been considered an entire day. Or from morning and throughout the afternoon. Let's say that Jesus was killed on the evening of that Friday. We can consider that the first day. Then through morning to the afternoon on that Saturday would be the next. And the third day would have been that Saturday evening. So it's more likely to believe that he had "risen" on a Saturday and not a Sunday.
