Kingdom Hearts II Donald forgets mysterious tower?.

Here's somthing i dont understand. In bbs donald clearly knows who is in the tower ( i.e Yen sid) but in kh2 he says somthing like " master Yen sid lives here !" as if he is surprised. Is it just some kind of lazy plot hole, thoughts ? .

 

I think he just forgot, or it may be Castle Oblivion's wakening effect, he just woke up after cleaning his memories after all.
This is my thought about the story.

I'm not sure if Mysterious Tower already was planed to be in KH series when KH2 was released, but my opinion is enough for me. Don't know if it's true or not. =/

It is generally just dismissed as a plot hole. The closest thing to a saving grace I can give it is that Donald might have been surprised that it was connected to Twilight Town since they always just went straight to the tower. Obviously though that is a stretch. I've also heard explanations along the lines of Donald might not have ever exited the tower to see the outside of it and thus wouldn't recognize it or he simply forgot during the 11 year or so gap. As it stands now it is just a surprisingly glaring mistake by Square.

 

yep its a plot hole. I watched Ven's cutscene to make sure, at the start of the scene Donald and Goofy sit OUTSIDE the tower ! so Donald should have some memory of it :)

 

Donald might as well have forgotten about it, he did feel liek he was having a deja vu in Timeless River since he did live back then yet he didn't remember until he realised that world was Disney Castle's past and 'attempted' to try and change history so he doesn't meet Daisy.

Or he could fo been surprised Yen Sid still lived in that Tower for 11 years and thought he either kicked the bucket or moved house like Merlin did,
