So, this isnt as bad as I thought...See, if Disney messes up aything for fans like movies or the comics in anyway, fans will be pissed off and revolt.

The comics industries have been hurting for a while. Warner Brothers bought out DC some time ago and so Marvel being sold to Disney is not a surprise. I do think people are kind of overreacting to the situation but I don't mind the joking really as some are funny to imagine up. xD As comics are moving to digital etc, and comic books themselves cost more to make etc, the books themselves have been going down in value that has hurt both DC and Marvel. Marvel kept a float with lucrative movie deals and all of those movie deals won't be touched by Marvel that are in place still. In the end, the comic industries have had to make changes due to pirating, comics being less of value and more expensive and such as we change to a more digital world.

I think that it might have not been a bad move for Marvel to do as it may offer up more variations in comics etc. I don't really believe Disney owning Marvel is going to mean we'll see Mickey vs Wolverine or something like that. Disney owns quite a few businesses in entertainment in which people do their own things with and manage as per usual mostly. I don't really say I'm crazy about the merger since I'd rather have businesses be free and all to their own things and not be made more corporate owned than they are individually but at the same time, I don't think this is going to result too badly. I hope anyway.

FFFFUUUCK I READ ABOUT THIS ELSEWHERE. It pisses me off to no end that marvel would agree to this...=/

Disney is great...for younger kids. Marvel obviously isnt for adults, but I feel that with this agreement marvel is going to water itself down. The comics are definitely not as prominent as they were before...I feel it can only go down from here.

Do you even read the comics?

Because I do and this never worried me one bit. I don't know what you're freaking out about.

Wow, didn't think Disney would by out Marvel, they seem so... unique when compared to each other.

AS long as Disney are smart enough to let Marvel continue as an individual company in terms of creating and sustaining chracters as they are, I think this will all go well. If not, Disney and Marvel have dug their own graves.

I also think that Squarenix wouldn't include Marvel into Knigdom Hearts, since it doesn't seem to fit into their ideas of creating a Disney-esque feel into their Games.
Imagine... a guest appearance of Stan Lee in a KH game. Wrong on so many levels.

    FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-

If this is true then they will milk the X-Men twice as hard as those movies. Maybe that picture of Wolverine in a KH screenshot like thing wasn't so farfetched after all.

Well, at this rate there will be no decent comic books anymore. Batman dies and gets replaced by Nightwing to be Batman II and now this. Marvel and DC are slowly falling down.

Fox has the film rights to X-Men and all related characters.

hurr durr i have an opinion but have no real idea what i am talking about.
uh, Dick taking over as Batman has been a great read so far and to be honest, both companies have been doing really well recently with the books they've been putting out (even if I don't like Dark Reign).

Enough with the crossover ideas. xD
More information about the Disney's acquisition of Marvel can be found here.
I'm glad to hear the news that Disney will let Marvel do their thing, how they've been doing it. No changes to Marvel's controversial characters, like the Punisher or homosexuals (Wiccan & Hulkling <3). No need to take a step back in censorship.

Disney wants cash, so it's a toss up between keeping its name untarnished by the violent Marvel comics and letting Marvel do its own thing. The solution is to keep Disney's brand away from Marvel, and the way to do that is to leave it to do its thing. That way Marvel doesn't get censored either.

Of course, if they think Disney could use the extra "Family-friendly" points, they could always butcher the Marvel franchise to appease soccer mums.
