Did MSN seriously just make me update to 2011?

I was using the 2009 version that isn't crap, it suddenly signs me out and says you can no longer sign in unless I updated to the 2011 version. Which is crap.

Did this happen to anyone else or can I go back and re-download 2009?

Same here. I know how you feel. I preferred the older versions of Fire Fox but now I'm stuck with the newest one...3.0 was the best IMO.

It just did this to me too :c I can't sign in unless I update. I didn't even download anything, it did it on its own which is honestly kind of terrible. I'd like to choose what gets downloaded on my computer, thank you very much, Microsoft. Although I'm sure it's in the license agreement somewhere that they can do whatever the heck they want. Guhh.

 

It doesn't support fancy names either (or no gradients but there is a plugin for solid colors).

It's compatible with MSN, AIM, Yahoo!IM, GTalk, Jabber, LJ Chat, IRC, ICQ, the whole nine yards. It adds new interfaces as they come out. I like it because it is clean and simple and I use multiple accounts and interfaces. It beats out things like Trillian with ease.

 

I uninstalled 2011 after downloading it and successfully re-installed 2009 after downloading that off of the interwebs. Now my precious pretty name has returned.

 

Said f*ck it and played with the settings to get it close to what I was using before. It's not the same and not nearly as good but I'll live until I can find a way to downgrade. B|

Will now be extremely pissy for the rest of the night.

I use Skype as well, thank you very much. I don't have many people added is the problem.

Tried it, just now. Didn't work, it just said NO UPGRADE NOW B*TCH.


EDIT; Went and b*tched out through the MSN Feedback box, maybe that'll make me feel better.

Sadly, no, but I'm getting too worked up at the moment to really do too much. My entire brain is just asdfghjkl;lkjhgfdsa FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF right now and I'd rather wait until I calm down a bit before I start f*cking with my computer lest I break something.

I really hate using Skype as a dedicated instant messenger -- I only use it for calls, but if MSN forces me to update to the 2011 version (aka lol add stupid social networking connect to everything **** and let's remove all the great features hurr durr) then I'll have no choice but to switch to Skype.

Oh my god... No. This sucks. I signed out to see if it would happen to me, and it did. **** my curiosity. :c

 

But Skype is so ugly and the noises it makes are horribly annoying. It is also horribly intrusive and a hassle to use in general. If you are using Skype for anything other than calls, then you're doing it wrong.
