Dentist

I went to the dentist today and got a tooth pulled out. Plus I need to fill a cavity which I know, hurts. But then they said I needed braces! D= So does anyone know if braces hurt? Or is it a big deal?

I got braces a few months ago.
The only times braces hurt are...:
1.When they put spacers in for them(It hurts for like a few days, then you get used to it, thhen they put the braces on, which hurts.)
2.A few hours after the braces are on.(Hurts for a few days)
3.When you get them tightened.
4.When you get a bracket taken off and another one put on.
Other than that, it's not a big deal...(cept I can't bite my nails anymore...)

 

What can you eat with braces

My parents are gonna make me have braces maybe, about next year or so

You just have to be careful about it.
But they have a long guide that they have saying you can't eat anything besides healthy food. =/

okay...I braces don't hurt when you put them on, but after a few hours they begin to hurt...When they put large spacers in it hurt but not too bad..When they tightened them it didn't hurt until after a few hours...When I got them off..




OMG! IT WAS THE LONGEST 4 HOURS OF MY LIFE! and I know it was 4 hours..there was a clock in the room...9am-1pm...They took these clippers and Jerked them right off, then scraped the cement off with a drill without numbing me...once it hurt REALLY bad, they had to numb me..lol...I had really sensitive teeth...

here's advice

BRUSH YOUR TEETH REALLY GOOD!!!

I thought I did but I have spots all over my teeth and I have many cavities cause I didn't brush in some places...so take care of your teeth once you get the

 

It isn't, but you can chew it if you're careful about it.
A week after I got my top ones, I tore a bracket off while chewing gum.
It hurt.
But I can chew it safely now.

I chewed on alot of things when I had braces...I chewed gum and they told me no Carmel...I ate it anyways...I broke off a bracket though..haha

 

ohhhh....man, no gum....oh well, if it'll keep my teeth straight

Mke sure it doesn't get wraped around the wire of get stuck to a bracket, though.

puh-lease they are so over-rated.

They're not that bad. Spacers hurt too... you get used to them; if you even have to get them. The worse part is after you get them on. Your teeth will hurt anywhere from 3 to 14 days. It hurts like a bish to eat. Stick to soft things like: soup, jello, pudding, ice cream, rice, ect. Just look at it as an excuse to eat ice cream anytime you want! They'll hurt like a day or so after you get them tightened. Just take pain killers...

Or you can not eat like hardly anything... I don't recomend that though. It's not fun. >_<

Yeah, I chewed gum all the time when I had braces. My brackets never broke. They really only hurt the first few times you get them tightened because they loosen you teeth so much. It also depends on just how bad the disalignment is.
