She broke it off gently and smiled

"Yes, but killing you would upset Natalie."

 

"if you wont do it freely then"

stumbled onto a fighting stance

"you can call it self-defence"

He dodged the punch.

 

Natalie quickly got in front of Cole, no matter the pain in her chest.
"Leave him alone Jecht!" she yelled at him

 

"Stay back Natalie, I don't want you getting hurt."

 

"I will protect you too," she said

 

jecht collapesed to a knee

"i dont want to hurt him i want him to kill me....... theres nothing left"

 

"I think it's time we faced this place we need to visit." Gharanth was unusually serious, even for him. In truth he was dreading the battle to come and certainly didn't want Twilight in any danger if he could help it. She was so special to him and he wasn't going to let her walk into a trap. He would go first and take the punishment. This was how it should be, a warrior protecting his lady.

 

Twilight saw the sudden seriousness in Gharanth's eyes and nodded. "If you think it is right." She replied. "You know best."

 

"I just don't want you to get hurt. You are very precious to me and I want to protect you and keep you safe."

 

"I will be fine, Gharanth. I will have you protecting me. But...who will protect you? That is what i worry about."

 

"You shouldn't worry about me. I can look after myself. The main thing is to see what the elemental warrior is all about. You command one element and I command four. We should be fine."

 

Twilight nodded silently, tryiny to imagine what things would be like after everything was all over. The thoughts made her eager to move on. Eager to finish the evils of the world. "Let's treck onward then." She smiled at Gharanth, hoisting her brown pack higher on her shoulder. "Shall we?"

 

"After you my lady!" Gharanth smiled and took her hand. "Have you thought about the future? I mean when all this is over. I have been thinking a lot and I would like to settle down somewhere with you. I will work hard and look after you, giving you all the things that you desire."
