*Has studied Latin for three years*

Word order is less than 10% of Latin. It's irrelevant in this situation. "Anna est mala puella," "Puella est mala Anna," "Anna mala puella est," and "Puella est Anna mala" all mean the same thing. If you've been taking Latin for fourteen weeks, you should know what that means. ;)
I speak a combination between Ango Saxon and Latin. It's called English.

So, my Latin teacher plus two years of studying French has managed to confuse me again.

I speak a Finno-Ugric language in which the written form was originally based on Latin, German and Swedish. It's called Finnish.

Like I said, I'm really rusty (and for some reason can only think of Japanese), but doesn't either Puella or Anna need to be accusative? Otherwise it could be "Anna is a bad girl", "A bad girl is Anna", "A bad Anna is a girl" or "A girl is a bad Anna".

Assuming Anna is a girl's name.

Finalform32 is found dead beside a cracked-open power-pylon. On top of the pylon were bacon, eggs, sausages and various other barbequeable foodstuffs. It appears he attempted to have a fry up on the pylon using city power, instead of manning up and paying for his own gas cooker. He was promptly given a fine and carted off to the morgue. The usual clue will be sent out tomorrow to someone, as I've slacked off for a while.

Nope. We're using the verb to be. Anna and a bad girl are the same thing, and as a result they are in the same case. When translated into good English it always means, "Anna is a bad girl." Alternatively, you could replace bad with naughty or evil since all three are valid translations. Now if we use the verb facio, meaning I do, instead of est, the sentence becomes, "Facio Annam, malam puellam." In this case, since I'm emphasizing Anna as the bad girl and not the bad girl as Anna, word order does matter a bit more.

On a completely unrelated topic, did you know that the virgin Mary's real name was Maryam, which was derived from Miriam, which means bitter or rebellious?

    And lol ff32's death.

And this is why I hate English. No freedom. In Finnish those sentences would be:
"Anna est mala puella." "Anna on paha tyttö." This is the basic form.
"Puella est mala Anna" "Tyttö on paha Anna." This one isn't that working, as it would suggest that the thing that we know already (teema) is "a girl" and it is new information (reema) that this girl is "a bad Anna". Meaning that we only knew about a girl but we didn't know that she was an Anna or that she was bad.
"Anna mala puella est." "Anna paha tyttö on." A bit archaic, but it works. Most often used in poetry when trying to make it seem more poetic or trying to get a rhyme.
"Puella est Anna mala" "Tyttö on Anna paha." This... doesn't work. At all.

Since my Kira tried to kill ff too and did so later than P's did, I owe you a clue.

Also, since I'm feeling festive, there's a hint, too!

    Ouch, poor guy.

Also, that clue means your Kira is locked in place until it's solved. No doing the Death-Note-Juggle.

Are you kidding? Your hints are what made me give up on numbers entirely, instead opting for messing about with files.

Actually, you can release the L hint, not me. Just PM it to whoever you like (sans Kira). The Detectives are going to need it.

By the way, are you ever going to fix that
    tag in your signature?
