I import the original AVI file into Animation Shop, and I simply use the program tools to trim off the parts that I don't want.

7362 Really? O_o How can you put the whole AVI file in there? It says it's too long and won't put the file in.

When you first open your video file, the AVI Import Options window appears. Use the "Range of frames to import" tool to select a certain range of frames to open. Make sure you open less than 2000 frames at a time.
