College Life

Henry headed to his class.

 

Lexi finally went to the hospital and they took the test to see if she's pregnant. They gave her a room to stay in. "Irony, eh?" Lexi said smiling. Ben just laughed,"You know it,"
"They said that the results will be a couple of hours so I'm going to sleep" Lexi said.
"Okay.. and.. are you going to tell Henry?" He asked her. "I have to.....but... I don't know what to say" she drifted off. Ben took Lexi's phone and texted Henry. [Hey.. this is Ben. I'm currently in the hospital with Lexi. I think you should get down here.] and pressed send.

 

Henry's phone vibrated and he read the text. He sent a text back saying he was on his way. He excused himself from the class and drove to the hospital.

 

Ben deleted the message that was sent to Henry. He sat back down in his chair and waited.

 

Henry pulled in and made his way to the room.

 

Ben saw someone move to the door. He opened it and told the person to be quiet.

 

"Sorry." he whispered. "What happened? What's wrong with her?"

 

"uhh... umm.... I think she should tell you," He said dragging him in. "I'll let you two talk" he left the room. Lexi was still sleeping. She was crying in her sleep.

 

Henry sat beside her and rubbed her back, trying to comfort her while she slept.

 

Lexi started to wake up.... "Henry? why are you here?" She asked slowly getting up.

 

"I got a text from Ben." he said. "What's going on?"

 

"Um....I don't know how to say this. but before I do..." She paused for a second, "I love you too"

 

"I'm glad you do." he said. "Now what is it?

 

"I....I..." She stuttered, "I think.... I'm... pregnant" She said slowly and started to cry. "I'm so sorry.."

 

Henry was shocked. "How? When? Who?" he asked, unable to understand how something like this could have happened.

 

"It... happened over the holiday. My brother and I... were invited for a party. He said that we weren't there for too long. When we got there... it was the people I knew from high school. Most of them hated me. Some... wanted other things. I didn't want to drink at this kind of party so, I didn't. Someone offered me water, well I thought it was water but they mixed in something else that I couldn't taste. After that I was knocked out. It was like my nightmare relived again and it did. I got raped..... my brother helped me out and punched the guys out, we left the party," Lexi said crying some more. "I didn't know this would happen. I'm really sorry. I understand if you don't want to be with me anymore,"

 

He hugged her tightly. "I'm not mad." he said. "It's not your fault. I want you to know that if you are pregnant and have the baby, I would treat it as if it were my own. I'm not sure how we would be able to take care of it, but I'm sure we can come up with something."

 

"Miss Alexis?" the nurse said in a quiet voice, "I have the results here" she came in and walked to the bed. Ben came in as well. Lexi rested her head on Henry's and held his hand, while Ben reached to get her other hand. "Miss Alexis, you're not pregnant" the nurse said. Lexi just froze there, "I'm not pregnant?! " She turned to Henry" I'M NOT PREGNANT!"

 

"That's great!" he said, smiling and hugging her.

 

Lexi covered her hands with her face crying even more now. The nurse left and closed the door behind her.
