~~Children of Fortunado~~

Even though thieves had to be quick on their feet, it didn't mean they could run a whole mile without breathing heavily and suffering all the same. Angel had been struggling to follow Antonio and Raine. She kept both of their figures always a little within her field of vision. When they suddenly disappeared. What the? Oh....a cave? Angel's hood was already up and she stayed close to the edge of the cave disappearing more than Antonio and Raine had. Her black cloak concealed her completely as she watched what was going on. Should we help? It kind of looks like their fight. *sigh*...well....one of these days it'll be my heart that 'll kill me. Angel thought as she gave Antonio a vulnerary.

 

Antonio realized that this fight was going to be a tough one. He placed his sword into the ground, and began focusing his inner streanth.

He allowed a faint cloud of his own darkness, which seemed to seep out of the crevases of his armour to surround him. The fog grew thicker and thicker. Till it finally encased him. Then suddenly the fog imploded into his body. It suddenly became clear that his power was different from the powers he used before. His flesh was now all black, either that or it was smothered by shadow, revealing no skin at all visible.

His eyes glowed an ominous yellow, resembling that of a heartless. He was now in Vehemence form. A dark knight skill, which uses his internal anguish and anger to consume his body with darkness. This form allowed him to use Darkness Abilities, the trademark skill set of a Dark Knight. However, the fatal flaw in such abilities is the fact that generating his darkness in fact sacrificed his own lifes energy to create the Darkness, thus shortening his lifespan, and even making himself more frail in taking physical damage. However, his vigor is increased by about 50%, and his Darkness abilities become much stronger.

The retainer seemed to be impressed with Antonios new form. Realizing that he was now a worthy opponent. He raised his right hand once again, and and fired another shot of his Dark Aura.

Antonio raised his sword and jumped and barrel rolled to the side, then, almost as if weightless, he leaped forward with a crushing overhead chop.

The retainer blocked the overhead attack, and tried to counter with his own. A slash to the side.

Antonio blocked this attack as well. And realized there was no point in attempting to defeat him with purely physical attacks.

"I suppose its about time." he grumbled to himself. Placing both hands on his broadsword in hand, he unleashed one of his stronger attacks. Slashing toward his opponent. "ABYSMAL BLADE" he yelled, unleashing a dark blast of darkness from his blade.

When the darkness settled, the Retainer was no more.

Antonio then emerged from his cave, once again in his human form. With an intense look upon his face. "The story almost ended guys, I had to kill that thing myself. I'm dissapointed."

He began walking back to the castle, notably exhausted.

OOC: Ok, Vehemence is a DK skill in a couple FF games, which does just that. Gives bonus damage in exchange for defense. Also, in many FF games, DK's are shown with all thier flesh covered in darkness, and yellow glowing eyes. It doesn't neccisarily mean he's a heartless, ok?

 

Angel said nothing as he passed. I gave him a vulnerary. Bah. What the hell was I supposed to do anyway? I would've gotten in the way. Oh well.....I suppose we're going into town. Finally. She followed him and everyone else back to the gates.

 

Delos stood in awe as the Dark Knight showed off his new found strength. "You know , you could have just told us you were that good, Morty. The Director would be proud to have you in our ranks.", Delos said with a new found tone of respect. It would appear that this man had a lot of hurt to draw out that much darkness, but Delos kept his observation to himself and continued on.

 

Pah. Of course he must be strong. If his story is accurate, then he would have to be strong to have survived so long. Angel thought to herself. Antonio was indeed very strong. But also mildly irritating with his behavior. But then again Angel was easily irritated. My fingers are starting to twitch. It's been a while since I've stolen anything or broken into a house. Or a chest for that matter. Don't worry lockpicks, I'll use you soon.
