St. Louis police officers report that 18-year-old Vonderrick Myer, when stopped for a pedestrian check around 7:30 last night, turned and shot at an as of yet unnamed 32-year-old white policeman, who was unfortunately forced to return fire and fatally shoot the teen.

Relatives and witnesses claim that while Myer turned and ran, all he was armed with was a sandwich, yet was tasered and then shot sixteen times by the off-duty cop.

More info has yet to be released.

Incidentally, today, the day after the shooting, marks two months since the murder of Michael Brown, whose shooter is still on paid leave.

My condolences to both sides here. Hope they figure out the full story.

People get in an uproar when people are shot and killed by police, regardless of color, yet when police are shot and killed, there is no uproar. That's really... well, mean.

It's expected that police officers risk getting shot in their line of duty. It's normally not expected that police officers shoot innocent teenagers, though it seems like that expectation has been changing pretty quickly as of late.

I'm not buying that he shot first until we hear it from a third party. Considering all the conflicting info that came outta the Michael Brown case, police reports simply are not to be trusted anymore.
