Basic summary: - Why the hell is this on Nicktoons? First Shippuuden on Disney XD, now this. But of course CN had time to pick up the rights to Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's. The view must look spectacular from inside their own asses. - As promised, scenes are tighter and the show moves a lot more quickly. Show this to people who actually haven't seen DBZ, it'll be easier to get them into it. - I still miss Ocean's Raditz. "LET ME SHOW YOU HOW IT'S DONE!" In fact, I miss their Piccolo and Goku, too. (Did you know Ocean hired Kirby Morrow to do Goku for the Canadian dub? Yeah, Miroku. He's actually a really good Goku.) - I've heard both the English "Special Beam Cannon" and the original "Makkankosappo" on separate occasions. Please pick one, Funi; I really don't care which. - Music... Eh. I'm sorry, but I adored Faulconer's work; you couldn't beat that out of me. Everything else is sub-par after that. - Colleen Clinkenbeard (Esther Blanchett, Monkey D. Luffy) as kid Gohan. He's gone from one woman to another, and this one sounds even less like a guy. Is it bad that I find it more appropriate? W/e, love you Colleen <3 - Chris Sabat was half of the voice cast before. Now he's three-fourths. AND HE PLAYS EVERY PART THE SAME. He has a thing for talking to himself. - They completely nixed the Home for Infinite Losers. Just cut the whole scene out. I... I'm not sure how to feel about this. - Goku has better jokes. And by 'better' I mean he's gone from 'kindergarten cutting-edge' to 'Stephen Wright on a bad day'. I need gas money, maybe I should sell my car too. In general, the dub cast sounds like they're not really taking this seriously. I can't decide if it's campy or if they've just lost their edge, but it's kind of turning this into "Hey, if you missed DBZ, here's the SparkNotes." I'm not really hating it, but they've got some key scenes over the horizon; if their performances aren't stellar, they're gonna kill the whole thing. Is Sean Schemmel still ally to good, nightmare to Frieza? Guess this could be the official DBK thread (if there isn't one), but I didn't think it was worth it.
I'm liking it so far, main voices I still love. I've been confused, like Krillin said Tienshinhan (however they spell it), Piccolo said SPECIAL BEAM CANNON, but when they replayed it he said the Japanese name, but the skipping is fine considering I know what happened during the time span. Music is eh. I. WANT. FUCKING. FAULCONER. Opening LOOKS good, song sucks. 'Bout it. EDIT: I want uncut too.
I'm not even in the US,which means I won't get to see this dubbed in latin spanish until... Who knows summer 2011 or spring 2012 >.> I only saw the opening on Youtube, I liked the graphics but not the song. I really like DBZ hence the Quote in my avy xDD I'd like to give it a try (even if I have to watch it in English or Japanese)
I think Disney XD is called that because they tried to get something from the internet, and they saw XD being used all over the place, so they went with that. They don't know that it's just a smiley, though.
It's not a very happy drive. I hope it doesn't affect the files I put in it. I might start moving everything to the C: drive. ...The fuck do I think I am, Mitch Hedberg?
