I have seen people talk about that, but in my honest opinion, if they say that Lucy actually is a templar agent I will go ape **** for the creators xD I'm sorry, I really like Lucy, but I don't know. D: I don't want her to be a templar. there is also the Shroud theory, since it is a piece of eden
LOL I can't wait for the next game, but that will be a while. :) I wonder what time period it will be.

The original rumours stated that the first thoughts the developers had was either WWII (which I think would be terrible since they'd have to involve a lot more guns making it more of a shooter) or King Arthur times
because of one of the pieces of Eden being a sword, a.k.a. Excalibur
which could work but it's more fiction than history, then again they have involved Adam and Eve which can be seen as fiction depending on religious beliefs so I don't think that really matters.

I like Lucy too, personally I think that she's probably the only normal character in the whole of the modern times in the AC universe. She's just a woman trying to get by. And when I say 'get by', I mean attempting to save the entire world from an apocalyptic prediction and a tyranical secret society. That type of 'get by'. And I think the Shroud theory is plausible, since it is hinted that the Assassins have it in Preoject Legacy, then again that was set in the Renaissance, so things might have changed. Or it could be that another Assassin team might have rediscovered it and will bring it back as a result.
What's really bugging me is the Subject 16 message. It's not as clear as the Truth video, and it just adds a lot more confusion.

Ubisoft have announced that the next installment in the series will be released next year. And if I remember right, it'll be a a big installment so i just can't wait for next year. Games sequels look to be eff-ing good in 2011.

I hate the idea of WW2. It's a narrative i'm sure everyone knows about, which isn't what AC has been about. I knew little to nothing about either the Third Crusades or the Renaissance period in Italy. Those were places that were out of the norm and I loved it for that. I want the same for the next game. Give me India in the middle of the Gupta empire, or China in the Tang Dynasty, or even a western take on the Sengoku period of Japan would be an interesting game. arthurian legend would also be a grand set piece for the narrative going on. I think that whatever the game is, it'll be set after the Renaissance time period, since going backwards in time would mean losing stuff like the Hidden gun or Crossbow, which isn't a great gameplay element to lose. An interesting rumour is that'll be set in the French Revolution. And according to clues in Brotherhood, it has more evidence then anything else i've seen.

It does seem likely that it could be the French Revolution, each AC has been an update on artistic culture, more so with AC2 and Brotherhood though. It would be a good place to use for some shout outs to previous things from the last games, like the whole tea thing could be easily brought up and although small people will feel an illusion of deja-vu that makes them happy and feel immersed in the game. Plus, it seems France would be the next step up from the silly accents in the previous games *shot*

I would maybe like something not set in eurasia for once, mainly because alot of european architecture starts to look similar to each other, so France might seem a little dull in that it all looks like Italy. Still, I wouldn't mind completely if that happened, since any new setting is nice.
There are a number of questionnaires going around to various site admins and other with questions asking what consumers want in the next game, such as if they want to keep Ezio or journey as a new ancestor, or what weapons would be a good inclusion, the desire for bomb and hidden blade upgrades, etc. And with the mention of a new game next year, could be that fan feedback will be a big part of what happens next.

Well, what are they trying to find now? The temples right? I have a feeling that we would just play as Desmond in the third game, I could be wrong (most likely) but I feel that we would just stick in modern time UNLESS some miracle happens and we can watch the memories of Subject Sixteen. -shrugs- who really knows. I always get WAY into the Assassin's Creed Series because I always want to keep reading about the history and other stuff. I remember playing Assassin's creed 2 and then I went on the computer and typed on google "Templars vs Assassins". LOL I would really really hate for the time period to be WWII because too many guns would be involved. I enjoy the slow/loud pistol as it is because it makes me not want to use it.

Oh, it just reminds me, what do you think of Assassin's Recruits? I don't mind them, I enjoy using them at times but it's not like I use them for every mission possible. I like fighting 32345849612356 guards on my own, it's more fun and it makes me feel more awesome.

I know the developers are entirely against the idea of WW2. They said that WW2 is a setting too often visited and they want to keep ideas fresh.

Also I love the idea of French Revolution, even though it would of been alot more interesting having Jeanne D'arc in the game as an enemy. (I would think she would classify as a templar)

Another setting that would be cool is the Young Italy movement with Giuseppe Mazzini. But I imagine the developers would want to move away from Italy.

The developers said that though they will expand on Desmond's story more and more, meaning more game time, they said that they couldn't imagine a game completely made in the moder day since history is a big part of the AC universe Tha they wouldn't abandon it. I also don't think that Desmond will be finding all the temples in the world. The main thing that will happen in AC3, in my belief, is the fight against Abstergo. The Assassins will prepare for war and take the fight to the Templars. But with the release of Brotherhood, the games have now become more than a trilogy, so the story may become anything that will happen.
And mentioning Subject 16, he's what I imagine as a spin-off series main character, where you relive his time at Abstergo, his time in the animus and his descent into madness. I really would want that.
And the recruits were a good add on, like the Crossbow, since the hidden blade has become less stealth based and more combat based, which is by no means bad just dull after a while. I used them quite a bit, since it was like getting reinforcements instantly and they were damn well effective. I liked watching them kill everyone. Made me kinda proud I'd done all that! : D
I wouldn't mind them going to WW2 at some point, but not now, too early in the series to be considered since it's such a set piece. And if it is set in that time, as long as it isn't mainly set in Germany, or France, since that's what we always see.
I REALLY want a game set in Mongolia as one of Altair's sons attempting to take down Genghis Khan, since it's almost perfect for an AC set piece, and with Altair's two sons you could get a co-op story mode and quadruple assassinate people! XD
I would also love near the end of the Hundred Year War, a giant set piece where England and France (Assassin's and Templars) are fighting over a Piece of Eden. So many characters and it's dramatic throughout the time period.

The idea of Mongolia would make in interesting experience, and a great story, but the only thing is, it couldn't be as much of a playground as Italy, not as many buildings, historical monuments, etc. This is what I say when people recommend the American Revolution, it would have to be in England, maybe Assassinating members of parliament. The idea of WW2, meh. All the Nazi soldiers having guns would get in the way, and Hilter killed himself, you can't assassinate him. I would love to see Japan, it would make for a great place to run around, and with how beautiful Rome was, Japan would be even better. Also, people will say, "Oh, Desmond doesn't look Japanese at all." He doesn't have to be Japanese, he can be from Italy, or England or some other place, and visit Japan. French Revolution sounds pretty cool, Desmond looks a little Russian, so that could also be a possibility. I'd also love to see England, I don't care what time period it is, crusade and even more modern times. Also, I'd like to see some more recognizable historical figures in the next game, like Da Vinci. It really makes me feel like I'm actually in the time period.

Well, if the AC game was about assassinating Genghis Khan, the majority of it wouldn't actually be set in Mongolia itself, only the last sequence or two, at the end of hi life. Genghis Khan was off plundering the divided Chinese empire, and the Khwazerim empire of the Middle East for most of his living life. He was both a bloody character in history, but is less well known for his time as the leader of a country. He was the first Mongolian to unite their tribes, create their capital and build their first fortress type homes. He was intrguiged by so many foreign concepts, thoughts and places that he rarely stayed in Mongolian surroundings. Also, at one time in his mid-life, Assassins from the real life Hashashin order was hired by one of his many enemies, and attempted to assassinate him through a poison blade, very AC like. And though he survived after half a year of being bed-ridden back in his home of Mongolia, it was at this point he left to quell rebellions of some of the Chinese cities he conquered, since they saw his near-death as a sign of his weakness, and whilst on his way, died. In real life no one is sure what caused his death, but in AC an Assassin shot at his horse that collapsed and killed him.
As long as you set it mainly in the middle of his conquests to the final years of his life, I don't see why not really. I know that Mongolia wouldn't be great for free-running with a lack of many buildings, horse riding would be perfect and would be an epic set-piece for his death.
I've thought of the AC way he would be hunted and killed and in my head it looks beautifully well done! : P

You do make some pretty good points, and take into consideration that Genghis Khan had a piece of eden (A sword). Some people say that we may go to many different time periods to find different P.O.E. pieces. I wouldn't like that, because one of the reasons AC1 and AC2 were so great were because of the great protagonists in Desmond's memories. I guess anything's possible really. Spain is another possibility, and Subject 16 had contact with her, and mentioned her in AC2.

omg, I would love this. Playing as Altair's son would be amazing... Seeing an aged Altair and seeing how he raised his kids and such.

So many ways to go, just a shame it takes so long to amke them all. I'll be 30 and the story will still probably be going on!
The multiple settings idea, would be a nightmare costing both time and a lot of money.
The writers would have to research a time period we visit, find historical figures to include, link an ancestor of Desmonds' to someone in that time period, figure out a backstory for the main allies and enemies, create dialogue for each individual character that relates to both phatic discussion of the time and the plot pushing elements. And the list goes on quite a bit really, and though all of it would be managable for a single game, but if you had to do that 3 times over, you're making more costs than benefits which a company like Ubisoft wouldn't want to do.
One of the reasons brotherhood came out so soon was that most of the characters and their backstory were already done and explored in the last game. I just don't see multiple time periods as logical.

A good move in my opinion, would be to make spin off series of other modern day Assassin teams who are also using Animi to explore individuals memories and their own hunt for other P.O.Es instead of trying to make Desmond and his ancestors to find them all. Like the comic book series, AC: The Fall, which is about a man experiencing visions of his assassin ancestor and goes to Abstergo to find out what is happening to him. That's an interesting spin-off that has potential, even the developers have said they'd love to see it as a game so why not?

Btw, who is 'she' you mention at the end of your post?

Love the ideas about Mongolia Monkey King.
I would pratically accept anywhere in the East for AC3...
I would also enjoy a French revolution time period. Or even a Jack the Ripper England :D

Back on the topic of Brotherhood - I haven't seen any gameplay or anything yet... So can I ask this one question? Is there a timer for everyone to assassinate their targets?
If so what is the standard amount of time? And if not how do people who just camp and mingle the whole time get killed?

I'm guessing you're talking about multiplayer. Camping is almost impossible, since you would have to be very very lucky to have all of your targets walk by you and then assassinate them all without getting caught. Near impossible.
And you don't have a time period to kill your target. You have the time the round lasts to kill a target or how long it may take a another assassin to kill your target.
Basically to be the best and get the best points, be stealthy yet fast, use your abilities at the right moment and don't run around like a headless chicken.

Well, it is a very good game, and last night, i achieved 100% synchronization in all of the sequences.
one through nine, the hardest ones, i'd have to say were where you needed to either sneak around, or not kill a single person, along with not being able to get hit a single time.
But after all of this work on the game, i'm just happy to have completed all of those, and am that much closer to getting completely synchronized, all that remains now is the misc objectives, two of Leonardo's mission's i need to replay, and that's about it, closer and closer to my goal.

    Is good. x3

Having purchased the game last year when I got a PS3, yes, I know I'm behind on the times.

I have to admit, it is very entertaining. I enjoy II as a favorite, but this comes as a strong second. Just everything about it is fantastic. I love Ezio especially.
