I still don't quite understand how they made a fighting type out of a giant boar.

 

Infernape and Emboar are based of some Japanese legend or something. That's why they have similar symbols on them.

 

They already possess barbecued chicken, I suppose it would make sense to add barbecued pork to the mix.

You know what I don't understand?

Every single one of them can learn moves like Rock Smash, but Charizard can never learn fly.
He flies in the anime, but no, he can't do it in-game.

Like, wtf Game Freak.

 

Charizard was unable to learn Fly through HM02 in Red and Blue. From Yellow, it could.

You realize all of those were the fire starter pokemon on their third and final evolution, and camerupt was not available prior to G3 (Sapphire, Ruby, and Emerald), right?

So, in other words, they need a fire/ground starter pokemon.
