    Yes.

My mom will come in a lot of times to tell me good night (because she always goes to bed a few hours before I do), and pretty much every time just her talking will make me jump, making my hands slam on the glass computer desk I have.

Yes, quite a few times actually. It is a rather annoying thing that I wish doesn't keep happening to me.

Um... it depends on the day really... and there is nothing to indicate when I will be really jumpy. I think it is when I am more anxious I am also more jumpy. And if I am not expecting it either.

And... it tends to be when people AREN'T trying to startle me. Like, my brothers try and startle me a lot. But really, I am more startled when someone just shows up in my room without trying to startle me

I dunno. It's confusing. I guess I'll just say "no" because most days, I'm not... but there are days where I can be really bad...

Depends on who it is. For some people, like my sister and brother, they somehow manage to startle me easily. For some of my friends in school, they tried and failed repeatedly. I guess it just depends on the situation, the time, and how good the person trying to startle me is.

It depends. If I'm completely focused on something, or even if it's just starting to get dark, I tend to be frightened more easily. Especially when I've just seen or thought about something terrifying (horror games/movies, creepy stories, etc.).

All in all, I'm basically a wuss.

I'm usually very hard to startle, so much so that some of the people I know have made it a personal goal to try and startle me. It can be pretty annoying, oftentimes people will jump out from behind things or try and sneak up on me and yell. And it never works. Probably because they're loud and obvious anyway, and I always see it coming. However, I have been startled a few times before, mainly when someone's not trying. If I'm really into something and don't hear someone come up, I get a bit startled, but even then, I never gasp or jump.

There was one time my little sis was going through a really annoying stage of ALWAYS trying to startle me every waking moment of the day. So finally, when I heard her shift her weight on the wood floor and then saw the shadow across the wall, I knew she was about to jump out at me and totally faked being startled. I guess I convinced her, because she was super proud of herself for weeks and kept bringing it up.

I'm very easily startled. I like, jump at the sound of people's voices. I get scared very very easily. It's really not fun. I love to watch Youtubers that play horror games and stuff, but I can't watch I just, can't do it. It's super weird, because sometimes I'm just like fearless, but not too much anymore. I had a lot of bad nightmares as a kid, so that's probably why :P

Not at all. I guess I have a good sense of hearing or something because I can almost always tell when something is coming towards me. The only time I really get startled is when my sister waits behind doors for me to enter a room and then jumps out to try and scare me.

Depends on how tired I am really. The more tired I get, the more startled I am by everything, from loud noises/bangs to people suddenly popping up behind me. Though really I do get more startled when I'm by myself.

Due to constantly being startled in the past by many many things, I had at times been likened to a squirrel.

So glad that I'm nowhere near as startled as I was in the past. Been pretty much insensitised to most things.

I don't think I startle too easily, I also just don't scare easily. I don't find much enjoyment from being scared like from watching horror films but I have quite a high threshold and it takes a special sort of creepy to freak me out.

As for being startled, I recon it's probably just average really, if I am totally in my own world and someone is somewhere that I don't expect them to be then I get startled. Sometimes people jumping up on me scared me when I don't expect it and sometimes it doesn't. I guess that is pretty normal though xD

Very easily. Especially during the night.

My house is creepy af. The floor in my room creaks and it sounds like someone is walking towards my bed, the stairs creak, my TV makes weird noises when it's off. I shoot awake all the time. Coupled by the fact that I'm scared of the dark, you have a very on-edge Lithy most nights.

Dude, my nerves are paper-thin. I've been spooked by shutting a door before. >_> And the anticipation of being startled only makes it worse, I'll seriously threaten to roll someone's head onto the floor if they play a screamer at me.

It really depends. When I'm most focused people can just say "Hey" and I'm jumping and near tears. Now when my husband and roommates act a fools and try to scare me, doesn't happen.

I usually only get startled when something pops in front of me or touches me when I'm in a tense situation. Unless the pops are obvious.

Tense situations are more for settings in disturbing situations like watching an eerie film or in an unsettling environment.

You have to be really trying to startle me if you want to startle me. I might hear a gunshot go off and I look around trying to find the source but I'm not ducking around corners, hiding in bushes, running for the hills barefoot because I've shaken out of my boots. I actually like being startled. It induces the fight or flight response which introduces adrenaline into your bloodstream giving you a somewhat heightened awareness. I'm an adrenaline junky so I enjoy it. I set my alarm clock as the General Lee horn from the Dukes of Hazzard, not because I like the show (it was alright) but because it's sudden and very loud. When I wake up I don't go back to sleep because I startle myself, causing adrenaline to be shot into my bloodstream causing me to be up and mostly alert.

So I guess, no. I'm not easily startled. I can be startled, however.

Not really. People will walk up behind me and try to startle me, but nothing. However, a few days ago, a friend was coming upstairs from my basement (lights were off) while I was going down (to get some soup) and I jumped about 2cm in the air. That's about as bad as it gets. I either startle not at all or very little.

Which makes me wonder about my reflexes. My Bio teacher said that if you startle easily, it's just your reflexes reacting to danger. So if I don't startle and I get into a dangerous situation, will I get injured/die because my reflexes weren't fast enough?

Not really, no. But I do remember having a good fright when I was a kid. I was going to my room upstairs, knowing for a fact the rest of the familly was still downstairs. I hadn' t lit the stairs so when I reached my room I could barely see where I was going. I opened the door ... and saw a woman staring at me from the shadows.

You' d think I' d scream and run or something but nope, I just stood there, kinda paralized. When I eventually regained control I tried to find the light switch, my eyes still riveted at the intruder. Turns out it was a stupid hairdress doll, my sister left it hanging from the upper bed with a gown around its shoulders.

    Admittedly, yes.

No. I seem to be like a rock lol.

I used to be startled easily but now nothing seems to bother me.

Me chillin in class listening to my ipod with earbuds, some guy slides the volume up to max and it didn't bother me. I didn't notice him either. I was just like "dude what you want" lol.

I've sort of gotten accustomed into not overreacting. I love the thrill.
