So I recently got my AP Score Report in the mail. ---2012 Micro Econ - 4 Macro Econ - 4 Eng Lit - 5 US Gov - 5 Comp Gov - 3 Stats - 4 ---2011 US History - 4 Eng Lang - 4 ---2010 World History - 3 They're scored on a 1 to 5 scale. 3 is passing, 5 is pretty freaking amazing. Anyone else want to share their scores? :3
Haven't gotten my recent scores (AP Bio and AP Macro/Micro back yet), but these are all I have so far: --2011-- AP US History: 4 AP English Lang: 3 (definitely could have had a 4, but I was having a bad time around the exam hah...) --2010-- AP World: 3 Also, awesome job on your scores! o: Your Economics score is wayyy better than mine will be. xDD
look at the geniuses up in heaaaaaa I haven't received my 2012 scores yet (or score, I only took Lit & Comp), but... --2011-- AP English Language & Composition: 4 AP US History: 3
I haven't gotten mine back yet, and this year was the first year I took an AP class/exam. Still, I'll bet you anything I scored a three or lower. Human Geography... not exactly my strong suit. :/
AP Tests are basically subject tests in specific areas. You take them at the end of AP classes, and if you pass, most college will give you college credit. That's what I thought about Comparitive Government. We only studied 4 of the 6 countries, and I didn't even answer half the FRQs. I have no idea how the hell I passed that one. I had a choice between taking Statistics and Calculus, and... I liked the Stats teacher better. ^^; Seriously, though. How often do you get a math teacher who goes to ComiCon?
I was in AP Calc this year... for a day 8D I dropped down to Honors after that, lol. I also crapped out of the Bio AP. BUT ENGLISH IS THE ONLY IMPORTANT SUBJECT SO IT'S OKAY.
Your school has Calculus Honors? Mine had Pre-calc, then some other math I forget then AP Calc. I still don't see why we don't have a normal calculus class...
AP Chem: 4 AP Calc BC: 4 AP Phys C-Mechanics: 3 AP Phys C-E&M: 3 AP NSL: 4 AP Lang: 5 AP Lit: 5 AP World History: 5 Classes taken from sophomore to senior year when I was in high school. Literally none of these helped my major.
The problem with being homeschooled is that I could only take AP classes if teachers were available since my parents definitely couldn't teach me. Real ones... I'm not sure what I got in AP Literature and AP Calculus but they were A's. 4.0's by traditional standards but I don't know what I would be officially since I see some 5's here.
It's not a grade, it's a test score. The grades I got in the classes are different from the scores I got on the tests.
For those who are unfamiliar with the system. The AP tests are set up by the College Board, not the state schooling system. They're entirely separate from school in a sense because they do not bear on your grades and aren't state funded; you have to pay for your own entry to the tests. But, these are a popular indicator of knowledge like the SAT is for aptitude so they managed to integrate prep courses for the tests into actual daytime classes/ integrated schooltime teaching into a standardized nationwide test. It is a normed test though so scores are based on how people also taking the test did not just raw scores.
-2008- US History: 5 -2009- Calculus: 5 Yes, I only took two AP classes, but at least I got a 5 on both!
