I hate animal cruelty with a passion. Its sick and wrong.Animals have feelings.People that abuse animals I think should be put in jail for life.I just hate it so much.I love animals with all my heart. They deserve to have a life.Everytime I see those commercials of animals that have been abused I feel like crying. Its just so sad.

I don't tolerate animal cruelty. Just because we're a dominant species of a planet doesn't mean that we can abuse the sub. species. It's stupidity, really.

    Lots of people. Poachers.

Well I don't think anyone's gonna say they support it. Maybe you meant animal testing? In that case, I say yes to an extent. Depends on the level of danger that comes with the product that's being tested.

Simply put, it's ****ing sick. People should be punished for it.
    But that's just my opinion.

I eat a lot of meat (except veal, OMG IT'S BABY COW :wow:), but I always feel like upchucking when I hear about a case of animal abuse or animal testing. It's just sick. People torture innocent animals for no reason whatsoever. I just recently learned that my town has an animal shelter, so I think I might go volunteer there sometime.

Don't go crazy, but I'm sort of indifferent against animal cruelty.

I don't support it, but I don't condemn it, either. I don't really hold that much empathy for animals.

animals arent what some people think...they arent naturally ferocious towards humans, there isnt reach such thing as a "maneater," in my opinion, animals are completely innocent. they are pure instinct, they dont know any better. They live their lives day by day and die...being cruel to animals is just wrong. thats what animal abuse is. Some people feel as though they have to "prove their domination." Its stupid, really.

Animal cruelty is wrong because they are also living creatures and they deserve to live as much as us people do, I Love Animals. But the only problem is I'm not allowed to be vegetarian for health reasons

Depends. I think that if you own a pet, you have a responsibility to look after it, and maintain a good quality of life for the pet, but I am happy to eat meat.

So it depends on what is considered abuse. If eating animals is abuse, then no, I am for it. If beating a dog until its eye pops out of the socket so it is dangling out of the head is abuse, I am against it.

    Hypocritical of me, I know.

Why should slaughtering animals to eat be morally okay when we can survive on veg, while fox hunting for sport is not?

I was outlining my views, not attempting to justify them. However my moral views do not seem to care about logic, only if the food resembles an animal or not.

Eating animals and keeping animals as pets are not considered abuse.

Eating them is a source of energy

Keeping them as pets is ok as long as you care for the animal if it dies because you haven't treated them with food is just wrong

Abuse of animals is kicking them and pouring hot water to them (both happened to my dog by my aunt and she treats her dogs like royalty)

I don't mind hunting, if the person is going to actually -eat- what was hunted. So fox hunting seems just a cruel sport to me that has no merit other than to kill something. I had a grandfather that hunted deer on his land, and we fished etc, but we ate what we caught or he shot. I can't really condemn that. Most hunters are very respectful of nature and animals so I think people give them a bad rap.

However, poachers and people that are going hunting of 'big game' such as tigers, elephants, fox hunting, etc where they have no intentions of doing anything more than stuffing an animal to display, I consider it pointless and just an ego trip to show they could 'take on nature'. Hunting for food is being part of nature. Hunting for a trophy isn't.

Animal cruelty though, as in abusing animals in nature or domesticated is a serious sign of a person having little empathy of life. It is often found to be a trait common in the past lives of serial killers as well that can't get the excitement anymore of torturing and slaying animals so it moves up to people. It's a very -common- trait amongst serial killers to have done this in the past. That alone tells me something is wrong with these people.

Well yea my grandfather used to do that as well but it's the circle of Life, so really eating animals is not a big problem. The big problem as Repliku stated are poachers, I just don't get why they want the money by taking innocent lives of wonderful creatures.

I can't stand animal abuse. It makes me sick. Hunting for food I'm fine with, but I despise poachers who slaughter animals, skin them, and make things out of them that people actually walk around wearing in public. I've also seen pictures of the effects of animal testing, I've seen the disfigured and tortured faces of the poor animals, and it's brought me to tears. I hate it all with burning intensity. I think the people who can stand to do that sort of thing truly are heartless and deserve punishment ten times as awful as what they do to those defenseless animals.

Foxhunting is no longer hunting foxes, fyi... *went on one and we just chased a scent of a fox through a trail* They dragged the scent through a trail before it started. No foxes...

I watch animal cops all the time, animal cruelty investigators... And some of the horror stories I can tell you would send shivers down your spine.

The thing is, what is the definition of abuse? My dad thinks riding a horse while it's perfectly healthy is abuse, same as spaying and neutering it... Some people think it's abuse hitting a horse with a crop or a rope whip, or them pulling a carriage...

Is it wrong to ask them to do that?

In a way you are right, and a way you are wrong. Spaying and Neutering a pet is safer for the animal. If it gets in heat it will do almost anything to mate, such as digging under the fence, and a lot of time they get seriously hurt from trying to find a mate.
(Me I think we should spay and netuter humans so we don't worry much about overpopulation >: D But I'm just evil like that)

I don't see whats wrong with riding a horse. If you took it from the wild and broke it and then barely ride or you sell it then I think thats wrong. If your riding for useful reasons I think its fine, as long as there is still wild horses that have plently of land to rome free on.

I, personally, don't like the crop. I've used it but it was for the horses' sake, he needed excercis and never moved, as long as you don't use it to really hurt the horse, rope whips I've never used, I've seen that they snap it in the air without actually hitting the creature. I don't like making it pull heavy object either like carriages I don't think thats right. Its heavier than a person for the horse.

In a way it is abuse, but when I posted this thread I'm pretty sure I was referring to real heavy abuse, like beating the animal to the point where it can't stand up, or starving it.

Bad,needs to stop, people should stop hurting them, etc etc.

Pretty much what everyone else said, but right now bigger things in the world are happening,so the animals gotta hold on for a little longer.
