Age of Dragons

"I don't think it's really our place to try to help out," said John. He looked ahead at Mya. "How should we know? You're the one who's leading us!"

 

Chi nodded."Mark's slower than you right?" Chi asked.

"Yeah seriously are we almost there Mya?" asked Sora.

 

Yea I suppose. She looked around. Judging by the air, I think we're close by. ETA 5 minutes I think.

 

"All right, let's keep going, then," said John.

 

Mya looked around and pointed down. There's my house. Let's go down! She and Sora dove down towards the direction of Mya's house.

 

Mark walked out of the house, and looked up, "what took you guys so long?" he asked.

Hwaje walked over to Mark, talking about taking too long, you slept through half of it! he thought to Mark.

 

Mya jumped off Sora and walked over to Mark. I'm sorry. I had to do something over at John's house. She bowed.

 

Mark scratched his head, "why are you bowwing," he asked, "and how did you get over to the wind region and back in less then a couple hours? It takes two days to get there with a lightning dragon!"

 

She shrugged. Who knows? It could be powerful tailwinds or some special routes. Anyway, that's not important. We need to pack up for out journey. She headed into the house.

Shia spoke to Mark privatly. The poor girl is scared about the journey. She needs some comforting. Shia nudged Mark.

 

Kaden quietly thanked Rain for holding the door, then threw a small back of gold at the innkeeper as they walked out, saying, "It best be two beds next time."
They walked out of town together, getting an odd stare here and there because of their armor. Once they got to their dragons, Kaden took two strips of leather from Ravage's saddle, then tied them to create a makeshift sling. With her arm secured, she waited for Rain to be ready.

 

Hwaje nodded, yes, go and comfort your crush, thats a great idea! He thought sarcasticaly.

Mark groaned, "shut it, Hwaje," he said, and walked out to Mya, "I'm ready to go, it'll be fine, trust me."

 

Mya sighed. Fine? We have 2 killers on our tail knowing our every location because of my reputation. I never wanted this. Why couldn't I live a normal life. Why-She stopped and looked at the floor.

 

John finally landed and heard what Mya had said. He thought for a second and said, "Maybe Chi was on to something, then. She said we might need disguises or something"

 

Mark nodded, "yeah, at least Mya and I do, my face is on too many wanted posters to not draw attention, and... well, Mya is famous," he said, "so we need ways to disguse our faces."

Hwaje growled, too bad you two didn't keep any of that mutation poison, he thought.

 

Mya stared at the wall blinking tears out of her eyes. I'm such a coward. I don't even know if I can do this.

Shia looked at Mark. She's gonna break. Better think of something fast.

 

Mark walked up to Chi, "don't worry, this will be fine, belive me I know what this feels like," he said, "I felt the same way before I freed the prisoner in the fire nation, and became a traitor to my country, but belive me, it will always turn out well in the end, as long as you go into it with good intentions."

 

She turned to Mark. You really believe that Mark? I wish I had the optimism like you. She sighed. I can't hide it anymore. She tackled Mark in a hug and cried into his shoulder.

 

Chi tugged on John's sleeve."Would you let me do that to you?" she asked shyly.

Sora bit his lip so he wouldn't laugh.

 

Mark was shocked for a moment, but then he returned the hug, whispering in her ear, "it's fine, it's going to be ok, we are all here, I'm here."

 

"Only if you really wanted to," said a smiling John, wrapping one arm around Chi.

Vento watched Mark and Mya, and thought to all the dragons, Well, looks like we didn't have to force them like we did John and Chi.
