A Scattered Dream

"Axel! I'm here. You're going to be okay," he hugged him not moving an inch as he would watch him all day if he had to.

 

Axel was able to sit up, but he could not get to his feet as he returned the hug for Demyx. "I don't know what I was doing. I guess I still feel guilt for what had happened.... just don't leave me alone right now." He replied.

 

"You nuts? I'm not going to leave you alone especially when you are in the condition you're in," he hugged him again and splashed some water on his face. "I bet that feels refreshing doesn't it?"

 

Sora ran after Kairi. "Let her go right now! I won't hesitate to destroy you!"

Xemnas walked out of his observation room and walked toward the nobodies. "It's seems we still have a battle to fight my friends."

 

Larxene nodded, holding onto Kairi. "Where are the other members?" she asked Xemnas.

Xion watched Demyx and Axel, then quietly got up, still a little wobbly. She slowly and carefully walked over to Riku. "I'll help you get Kairi back." she said. Demyx and Axel would be okay. They were friends, they would be okay. Maybe Larxene would use her instead.

 

Axel shook his head getting the water off his face. "My powers aren't working right now, but I guess the water is okay." He replied to Demyx and he glanced ahead with his eye and saw Xion trying to leave with Riku. "Where do you think you are going? No lying this time." He narrowed his eyes. He was sick of these games as Xion had played this game of running away from him since she had joined the organization.

 

Demyx groaned for Xion was up to her tricks again. First she was trying to leave, then she was forced to stay and Riku was not helping the matter. "Axel you rest. I want to make sure you have your strength before you try to go after her again," his voice was drawn out as he was tired of the same ole routine.

 

Xion froze, her back turned to them. Then her shoulders relaxed, and she sighed. "I'm going to help Riku save Kairi." She didn't add the other part. It wouldn't help right now.

 

"No you're not Xion." Demyx took a hold of her hand and handed her to Axel. "Do what you have to do Axel," he said with a sigh. "Larxene, make sure Kairi does not get away," he called to her.

 

Xion sighed, her eyes sad. "Why can't you let me go?" she asked quietly, not entirely sure who she was talking to. She rubbed her face on her sleeve, hiding what she felt.

 

"I am not going to let you get killed!" Axel replied angerily at her he tried to sit up, but cried out in pain. He didn't trust Riku as far as he could throw him. "Riku is not worth all this heartache." He admitted though he didn't have a heart he was saying how he felt. He watched Demyx making sure he wasn't going to leave him either.

 

At Axel's cry of pain, Xion fell to her knees beside him, placing a hand on his shoulder. Her eyes were no longer sad, but blank of any emotion. "Just breathe." she murmured.

 

"Axel what are we going to do about her?" Demyx questioned his friend. "Why is she being so stubborn?"

 

Axel noticed Xion's expression blank and her arm on his shoulder. "She is torn with guilt. She needs to understand that I am not going to let Riku take her away from us." He replied to Demyx as he did breathe, but the pain still hurt.

 

"Oh! Well what can I do to help you Axel?" Demyx touched the fire wielder's shoulder and rubbed it.

 

Xion closed her eyes. "Just breathe." she murmured. Time to try something else. She gently searched her mind, trying to remember how she had done it. She gently opened her mind, searching. Anyone there? she asked quietly.

 

Riku kneeled down beside Xion. "What happened? Are you ok." He asked the nobody.

 

Axel closed his eyes breathing heavily. "Don't leave her alone...." He said softly to Demyx. As for some reason he felt like there was someone who might take Xion away.

 

Riku felt ignored. "Answer my damn question!" He screamed.
