A King's Story 4: Fading Light

"Cute." Abee smiled, picking Raffaello up and held him.
Raffaello looked around before watching Lyra sleep.
Lyra woke slightly, looking around, dazed.

 

Opal opened her eyes slightly to see them but did not move, just smiled.

 

"Thats Lyra, Raffaello." Abee told him.
Raffaello smiled. "Wywa!" He said.
Sapphira's eyes widened in suprise. "He... Talks?! Lyra can't even say her own name yet!"
"Thats Raffy. Smart little boy." Abee tickled his tummy.

 

Opal smiled and sat up, "Hey"

 

"Mommy!" Raffaello smiled.
Sapphira watched him in suprise.

 

Opal's face just lit up in pleasent suprise, she glanced at Abee as if to say, did you just hear that?, got up and tickled Raffaello's neck, "So how's my little boy doing?"

 

Raffaello giggled, pushing her hand away with his feet.
Abee smiled at them both.

 

Opal laughed and smiled at them.

 

Sapphira smiled. "At least he's more active then Lyra. All she does is sleep."
Lyra had fallen asleep again.

 

"She's beautiful anyway, and at least that's better that her crying all the time" Opal said to Sapphira, looking at Lyra.

 

Sapphira smiled more. "Thank you."
Raffaello still watched Lyra.
Lyra's face screwed up before she started to cry very loudly.
Sapphira blinked, bouncing her. "Whats wrong?"

 

"I DON'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN ANYTHING" he still wouldn't calm down.

Matsu walked forward and hugged Sunohara. "will rika-chan be ok?"

 

"Lawliet. Do me a favour and SHUT YOUR TRAP FOR 5 MINUTES SO WE CAN SORT THIS SHIIT-STORM OUT!" Satoru yelled at him.

Sunohara hugged him back with his free arm. "Rika'll be fine. She's a strong girl. C'mon, lets get her treated."

 

"OR WHAT?!"


Matsu nodded.

 

"What to know why your father has a scar reaching from his shoulder to his neck? I put that there when he just WOULDN'T SHUT UP. Satoru glared at him.

Sunohara stood up, heading towards one of the tents.

 

"WHAT THE HELL?! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!"

Satoru grinned. "That was actually in a sparring accident. Plus he was pissing me off. But still, calm down and we might get somewhere."

Sunohara entered, laying Rika down on one of the futon beds.
"And what happened here?" A woman stood over Sunohara, crossing her arms.
Sunohara's ears went back. "Rika..... tripped and fell...."
"With a burn mark?"
"Into the fire pit?"
"In the shape of a hand. Sunohara, I know Lawliet did it so stop lying now." The woman sighed, kneeling next to Rika and putting a cold flannel over her burn.

 

L was slightly confused and the flames burned out a little.

Matsu hugged onto sunohara again.

 

"Good. Can you stay quiet now? 'Use your "indoor" voice' as Mom used to say." Satoru smiled. "Lets start from the beginning. What got you so worked up?"

Sunohara hugged him back. "That's my Mama, Nagisa. She's like the doctor around here. If you feel sick or hurt yourself, just come here and she'll treat you."
Nagisa smiled at Matsuda. "Don't worry about Rika. She'll be fine."

 

L sighed "sunohara expects me to act like everyone else when it's obvious I hate it here"

matsu had started to cry.
