A King's Story 4: Fading Light

"No. Broaden your mind more." Sunohara told him. "I'm not thinking about the rivers or trails and anything else in the wood. I mean the life of the woods. Thats one of our first rules - The wood has life just like we do. Respect it and it'll help you."

 

"what if I don't want it to help me?, what if I don't want help at all"

 

"Then you would surely die here, Sir." Rika told him. "The Wood is the equivilant of Mucc to someone who doesnt respect it or know it."
Sunohara laughed. "Face it Haine. Saying that proves your patheticness. What're trying to prove with this lone wolf business? Every wolf is part of a pack. Eventually, they have to get help, even Nobodies like you."

 

"you can see that I'm not a wolf like you so why should I have to conform to your expectations"

 

"Oh really?" Sunohara shrugged. "Fine. But then again, I'm sure Rika said that it was you who took down Dark and rescued your parents."
Rika nodded. "From living up to these 'expectations' you believe we have. But now its changing... L never did anything. He sat back and let the world go by. Dark over threw Artemis and killed everyone, even Akuji. Demons were let loose onto the land and soon everyone lived in misery and suffering with the Haine family to blame."

 

L fists clenched. "and who are you to blame us? You forget that one of your pack members is of our family! And you!" he turned to Rika "you really think that just because I hate this place that I'll just 'sit back' and watch everyone I know be killed infront of me?! by right it doesnt even have anything to do with either of you two what happens to my parents so just stop it with your stupid predictions and leave me alone!" and with that he marched away again.

 

"Stop him please."
A barrier formed around L, preventing him from going any further.

 

Opal smiled and nodded, "It's just perfect"

 

Abee nodded, hugging them both. "Very perfect. Opal, Raffaello and Abee. Or Link, depending on what you call me."

 

"Abee. It's what I've always called you" She replied, hugging him back with her free arm.

 

"Okay. Hushuabee is my new name. Maybe if I forget about Link then maybe I can start again, my old life as Link will disappear." Abee smiled.

 

Opal nodded, "Maybe." She rocked Raffaello slowly in her arms.

 

Raffaello had fallen asleep again.
Abee smiled at him.

 

Opal smiled at him and carefully put him down, careful not to disturb him.

 

Raffaello woke up slightly before settling asleep in his crib.
Abee watched him, smiling more at him.

 

Opal watched him for a moment before looking back at Abee, "I guess we'd better get used to this"

 

Abee nodded, still watching Raffaello. "Yeah. Maybe His Highness can help us along too. After all, his child is 8 months old now."

 

"Yeah, they'll know what it's like" Opal nodded and sat back down on the bed.

 

"what the hell?! Let me out right now!"

 

"And I'm sure they'll help us along." Abee smiled.

"Please calm down sir. Let us explain." Rika told him.
"Gettin' worked up ain't good for ya." Sunohara grinned, watching him.
