A King's Story 4: Fading Light

He shrugged. He didn't much care.

 

"I'm sure you don't wanna be laughed at." Rika said before carrying on walking.

Raffaello nodded, yawning again.

 

Opal smiled, "Tired now?"

 

Raffaello nodded, shutting his eyes and drifting off.
Abee smiled, rocking him gently.

 

Opal watched him, "Wish I could fall to sleep so easily"

 

Abee looked at her. "Maybe you should try and get some sleep too."

 

Opal looked back at him, "I guess you're right but if he wakes up hungry don't hesitate to wake me up"

 

"Okay then." Abee smiled.

 

Opal smiled before getting into bed and rolling onto her side to try and get some sleep.

 

Abee watched her before looking back at Raffaello.
Raffaello was fast asleep.

 

Opal moved around in bed in an attempt to get comfy before finally drifting off.

 

Abee smiled, drifting off himself.

 

Opal fell into a deep sleep, clutching the quilt around her.

 

Abee woke up a few hours later to the sound of Raffaello crying.

 

Opal remained fast asleep and breating deeply. A small smile was etched onto her face.

 

Abee stood up, bouncing Raffaello. "Whats wrong? Hungry?"
Raffaello nodded, crying harder.
Abee walked over to Opal, shaking her awake. "He's hungry Opal."

 

Opal's eyes slowly opened, "Wha- Oh yeah, right. Gimme a sec" Opal got up groggily and wandered over to Raffaello, "Don't worry, I'm here" She pulled down her shirt and picked him up so he could reach.

 

Raffaello reached up and began suckling.
Abee politely looked away.

 

Opal smiled wearily at him as he did.

 

Abee stared out the window.
Raffaello finished, starting to hiccup.
