A King's Story 4: Fading Light

"What state where they in?" Rika asked.

 

"Mommy was on the floor and she wasn't moving and a nasty man was beating daddy up."

 

"Did the nasty man look like Daddy? And you shouldnt worry about Mommy." Rika smiled.

 

Matsu nodded. "Why not?"

 

"Nobodies fade when they're dying. Since your parents weren't, they should be okay." Rika smiled at him.

 

"Still" he hugged her tight.

 

Rika smiled at being hugged. Turning around again, she watched the clouds of the edge of the floating continent come close.

Dark looked around, satisfied. The Castle had changed to what he wanted it to look like.

 

Viv danced around the room humming to herself.

 

Dark watched her, raising an eyebrow. "What're you doing?"

 

She giggled. "Why?, what do you want me to do?"

 

Dark frowned slightly, looking away. "Humans are very strange..."

Abee frowned before getting up, picking her up. Running inside, he ran to the medical wing.

 

Viviene stopped dead. "What did you just call me?"

 

"Strange." Dark repeated, looking away.

 

Opal breathed heavily before cring out in pain from another contraction, "I think it's coming, now!"

 

"Oh holy..." Abee ran into the medical wing.

Abee sat outside, waiting. It had already been 4 hours.

 

With one last painful push, the baby finally came out completely and a midwife gave the baby to an utterly exausted Opal, who smiled wearily at her little baby whle someone ran out to fetch Abee.
