The nurse nodded, finishing bandaging the child. "Mistress has been busy. That child came out last night from 'the room' you know."

Kaida shook her head. "Of course not, why would I?" She said, walking over to him and holding his hands.

 

Reese's voice changed. It was now old and raspy. "Because Reese told you to."

 

"I told HIM I would. Not you." Kaida smiled at him. "I want to stay with you, not Reese."

 

Nel smiled. "What is it?"

Josie took out some gauze from the cabinat. "Has she now? Well she won't be too happy with my news."

 

"So sweet. If only that were true." Reese suddenly cried out in pain. A blade was stuck in his back.
