Fifteen years, five cities, 150 victims, and no leads. The agency has developed a detailed profile regarding them, but they continue to evade us. They have a three year cooling off period and now it's year eighteen. Any day now, a group of high school students will go missing somewhere in the United States and begin the worst game of their life. These men are sadistic - psychopaths. They derive pleasure from torturing teenagers like it is a game. Given the nature of these deaths and how long they've been at it, we believe they must have started in their early twenties.

They would be in their mid - to - late thirties by now. The Unsubs are male and physically fit -- they would need to be in order to come off intimidating enough to subdue this many able - bodied teens. They are armed and dangerous. After evaluating the profile further, we have come to believe that this will not stop unless we catch them. They are organized and will find new, younger followers to take over for them. This way, they may enjoy the game even after they are unable to continue running it.

Sir, we've just received word that it's happening. A bus went missing one hour ago on route to school. They're hitting Detroit this time.

This roleplay is inspired by: The Hunger Games, Gamer, Death Race, this one episode from Season 8 of Criminal Minds, Battle Royale, and the Hide - n - Seek event in Cupid's Brew.

This is meant to be a fast - paced RTS [ Real Time Strategy ] based roleplay. That being said, just because it will move quickly and not last for long, doesn't mean it will be lacking detail.

    This is an Advanced Roleplay.

    Minimum 3 paragraph requirement

Thought and effort required for each post
Smaller posts are only permitted on the basis that a timed event occurs or you are really having a hard time figuring out what to write.
    There will be counters.

There are two types of counters, time based and post based.

Time based means you have a certain amount of time to post before the counter reaches zero.

The most typical outcome of reaching zero is some sort of major event.
You want to stop the counter from reaching zero.
Post based means that one or several people need to post a certain number of times before the counter reaches zero.
The most typical outcome of reaching zero is death.
You do not want to be the person that didn't get a chance to post.
There is no limit on characters, but once the roleplay is started, no more participants will be allowed to join which means no more characters may be created.
Think hard about how many you want.
You must post at least every four days.
    There will be no warnings.
If you get three strikes or if you exceed the 4 day posting requirement, your characters will just be killed off.

It is crucial to talk to me if you are going to be gone for any period of time.
I am willing to make exceptions for people that have notified me or have a legitimate serious excuse for being gone.
For every day after the fourth that you don't post, one more character will be killed off until you either post or all of your characters are gone.
    There are no second chances.
I am tired of giving second chances to people that don't deserve them, it just hurts the people that do.
You are out of the roleplay once all of your characters are dead.
You will not be able to make more [ yes I am repeating this, I hope that means you get it by now ].
    Your characters will die.
Only one or two characters may survive.
    No Godmodding or Power Playing
Deaths, fights, severity of injuries will be determined by me through either a coin flip or an RNG
I am the neutral third - party that will keep everything fair.
My characters are obviously not meant to win, just progress the story.
There is no end of day.

Characters are still required to sleep

You will be notified based on the Random Number Generator as to when you have to send a character to bed.
Their length of sleep will depend first on the current situation, and second on a RNG.
It will usually range between 4 - 8 posts.
They will never know what time of day it is given that they are below ground.
Depending on the number of sign up sheets, the characters will start out in either two, three, or four groups. The groups are meant to be a way for the characters to bond and make relationships before they all start dying off, which won't take long.

Everything important I have to say pertaining to the roleplay will be posted in the OOC for everyone to see and so that there is a record of it.

No one will be able to dispute that they never saw it.
Everyone else is required to post anything important they have to say, there as well.
Occasionally there will be `announcements' posted in the thread. These are usually just a few short words or a sentence that tells one or several characters what they need to be doing at that moment.
If not everyone is online at the time, then there will be a link to it in the OOC Thread
All characters should have a familiarity with the other characters. They all go to the same school and were picked up on the same field trip bus.
They do not have to be close.
Some characters should have established friendships [ alliances ] and/or people they dislike [ rivals ].
It is not required to make these familiarities prior to the roleplay starting. You can just introduce your character as someone else's friend in your first post and vice versa.
This should NOT cause problems or be an excuse to take out your issues on an actual member in a controlled setting. If I see flaming you will be out.
    Do not hotlink to Zerochan!
This is a very long list for a reason. Be sure you're reading everything prior to signing up.
I reserve the right to add or subtract to this list as I see fit. A notification will be made if done so.

    OOC KILLS MOOD

The air was stale and damp. Little lighting guided them through the dank bowels of the car factory. Detroit had a lot of those -- abandoned vehicle factories. It made perfect sense as to why their captors chose this place. No one would notice. This part of town was mostly gang territory and didn't get a lot of visitors. The cops were paid off and the patrons of the streets were less than forthcoming with any sort of information. If they noticed a rigidity old bus coming down the street, they weren't talking.

Liberty stumbled with her wrists bound behind her back. She was trying to remember the route they took to get here, but it was difficult in the dark. Her mind was working in overdrive trying to process everything. They had actually been taken. She had heard the stories on the news before, but never once did she picture it being her bus that went missing. On top of that, she had been separated from her brother. He was the only one she could trust in the current situation. If all the news reports were true, even would eventually turn on one another in order to survive and Matt was the only one she could guarantee would not do that. It was horrifying to think that her classmates had the capability to actually try and kill her, but some of them were sketchy enough that she wouldn't want to risk being around them now.

Get in. One of the men that had taken them pushed open a door to a room and motioned for them all to go inside. His masked face watched each of them intently as he waved the gun in his hand at them. One by one, their group entered the room. This will be your base. I'm going to cut off your bindings and then leave. Remember, if you try to attack, you get shocked. Don't even think about taking off the collar. We can see everything you do and hear everything you say. It's pointless to try fighting us. You might as well save your energy for fighting one another. He pulled out a large hunting knife and began cutting the zip ties around everyone's wrists. When he got to Libby's, she pulled her arms into her chests and started to rub her wrists. The thin strips of plastic had really been digging into her skin and having her arms behind her back for so long was making her biceps soar.

He exited the room and shut the door behind him. She wanted to follow, to try and knock him upside the head with something, anything, but it seemed useless. Liberty looked around at the others. Carlie had slumped to the floor in the corner and was crying. That girl usually seemed to bright up an entire room, now it looked like her flame had gone out. Her makeup stained her cheeks and her eyes were red and puffy. Carlie, crying isn't going to help the situation. Liberty found public crying to be indecent and gross. It was something that should only be done in private. Though she was terrified like everyone else, there was no way they would see her break down like Little Miss Ray of Sunshine.

But they expect us to kill each other! I don't wanna kill anyone. Or be killed! she added through choked sobs.

She found a slightly less dirty spot on the floor to sit and began to drag her finger through the dust on the ground. I don't think we have much of a choice. Don't you remember all the news stories? If we refuse to fight each other, then they just kill us anyway. They only let one person live and twice no one got out alive by the time the police showed up. That's probably because they were refusing to fight each other, so the guys that took us just offed them instead. They've never been able to catch them. These men aren't patient. If they think we're taking too long, they'll do something about it. Liberty looked up to see her words only managed to make Carlie start crying harder. She sighed and looked around at the others. Someone needed to stay at least remotely level - headed. Being the analytical person that she was, Liberty assessed the likelihood of her having to be said level - headed person. After all, she was the top student in her class. If she couldn't find a way out of this mess before too many people died, it was doubtful anyone else would.

Sanica had been pushed into a room with some of the others from school. She remembered everything like a foggy dream. The men had come on the bus and shot the driver, and then they were taken. She had heard stories about this stuff on the news. Her brother always told her she would be safe, but it didn't look like anyone was safe. Her brother. She looked at the people in her group once more, unsure of who they were. She blinked a few times. She recognized them, Brady, Simon, Allen, Lester and Casey. She talked to them sometimes, they weren't exactly friends. She admired Casey, for her skills in the arts, also Brady, for knowing many languages. She rubbed her eyes, wincing in pain. The side of her face hurt from a slap, but it wasn't given by her captors, but her brother.

She shook her head. There were more bruises, scars and cuts.
"You should not disrespect him." She thought to herself. "He is your brother and you love him.". On her fair skin, the marks were very easy to spot. Her short blonde hair had covered some of them. Her build was petite, and no match for anyone bigger then her. "Well..." She said, her voice quiet and meek. She coughed, trying to make it sound stronger. Her brother had always told her she had half a voice, because she was so quiet. "Well, what should we do?" She asked the others. There wasn't very much they could do. ♔

James remembered every single detail of what had happened today. It replayed in his head, over and over again. The gun going off and shooting the driver... He shook his head, snapping out of his daze. He looked around. Marylin, Ethan, James, Matthew, Dominik and Rae Anne. James had always been a social person, and talked to everyone quite a bit. He knew the rumors going around didn't made him the ideal person to converse with. Rumors that he had beat up his sister. His sister. His sister was no where to be seen. Then he remember, They had been separated. He wanted to punch the wall, but was unsure if the people holding them captive would find it to be a threat. They were always watching. He flipped his hair, putting on a crooked smile. He lied back, trying to look afraid. But he wasn't afraid at all. He was already planning how to become a victor.

You[/url] hear horrible stories all the time. Kidnapping. Murder. Frightening things that can make one think and worry, but in the end it is still hard to imagine it happening to you. At least this was the case for Angie.

Never in a million years did she imagine this happening to them. To her. Her life had been a good one, happy even. Sure there had been issues, scares, but to be in something like this still felt surreal. Like she was dreaming. Even as they walked binded and in the dark she felt like it wasn't real. This wasn't happening. It was a dream. It had to be a dream.

This wasn't normal. This wasn't right.

Her breathing had been strained the entire time. But as they were herded into the room she remembered her training. A runner and swimmer had to have good breathing techniques. It was the only way to win races. To swim long distances. So she began going through them in her head, hearing her coach's voice guiding her as the zip ties were cut.

It was soothing. It felt like she was imagining this while with her coach and the team. She would tell them if it were not for the looks she could get. But maybe they'd laugh.
'Yeah, as if that'd happen here.' A reassuring statement from Kelly.

She liked Kelly. She was hardly popular or had many friends and the ones she did have were not close. But if Kelly were here she'd feel better... Because this was real. It wasn't a dream. She became certain of that as the others began reacting. Cries. Confused statements. Panic.

It was real. It was real. It was really happening.

Closing her eyes tightly she moved away from the others. They were going to try and kill her. They could not be trusted. Not while they continued to break down like this. Though Libby looked level headed enough. So once she opened her eyes again they fell on her. Out of everyone she thinks...she'll stick close to her for as long as possible. She would be useful. She was, after all, the smartest in the class.

Then she could run. She could run and run, perhaps lasting through the shocks until she was out of range. It seemed unlikely but... Maybe. She just needed an opening. A clear path... A chance.

Until then she was focusing on her breathing, lightly touching the collar to ensure it really was there, before beginning her stretches. It might look out of place, odd even. But it was one of the only things that worked to clear her mind. If she didn't do it she could be breaking down and crying like that other girl. That would put her in the spotlight more so than this. Plus this would help her run better...

    She needed to run.

The faint lights that dimly lit the factory barely helped Brady guide himself through the darkness as he stumbled over the metallic automobile scraps. From what he could make out, they looked rusted to hell; this place had been long abandoned. He hoped he didn't accidently cut himself as he continued to wearily navigate to wherever they were headed. He kept his eyes locked onto the dirty, concrete floor, afraid of even catching a glimpse of his captors. He'd seen more than enough of them on the bus, after they shot... Oh God. He inhaled deeply, his exhaled breath short and dry. His cheeks were wet with silent tears and his vision was hazy, which only made his staggering worse. Hopefully no one noticed.

This all was too real. He'd seen reports of kidnappings quite frequently on the nightly news, of course, but never had he thought it could happen to him. There was this pit--this knot--deep in his stomach that weighed him down and made him feel sick. His dockers scraped against the hardened cement as he sluggishly shuffled. His legs felt weakened as his will to follow the crowd of high school students exponentially decreased. Picking his head up for a brief second, he immediately noticed that the group size had shrunk. When did they get separated from everyone else? Regardless, it didn't even really matter. There were bigger issues at hand. He peered at one of the threatening men worriedly.

He wanted to run, run far away from these fucked men as fast as he could carry himself. But no, he restrained himself; he watched plenty of crime shows to know that that was probably one of the worst options. Instead, he continued to shamble across the factory.

Brady lifted his head once again as he heard the sound of the door and floor harshly rubbing together. He and the others were gestured to walk into the room. He hesitated slightly, as uneasy feeling overtaking him. He stepped into the room, taking a moment to look around. Feeling his hands become unbound, he turned his head to see one of the men with a large knife. He gulped and quickly turned his back to the man, feeling his wrists as he spun. He stretched out his arms, arched his back, and released a soft, high-pitched moan as his muscles relaxed. Resting against one of the plain walls, he slid down to the floor and extended his legs, crossing one over the other in the process.

A piece of him wanted to speak with someone, to see how they were holding up, but quite frankly he was disinterested in the others at the moment. He chose to ignore Sancia as her question was quite... redundant. What the fuck could they do? Brady sighed. He'd speak to these people when he needed them--right now, he just wanted to unwind.

KILLS - NONE MOOD - DAUNTED

Media outlets everywhere had reported on incidents of school bus kidnappings. Kidnappings that would end with each of the students taken killing each other just to be free. Sometimes, none of the students would survive at all. It was terrible, downright inhuman thing to subject high school students to this kind of Hell. And yet, now he found himself in those circumstances he had heard about. This wasn't through the grapevine anymore. Anything that happened now would be right in front of him. No doubt there would be reports of this incident when all is said and done.

His heart raced as he was being guided to a room. He tried to maintain a calm demeanor, sweating bullets the entire time through. When they were finally brought into a room and freed from their bindings, he let out a heavy breath laden with fatigue. He rubbed his rapidly reddening wrists as he caught his breath. Trying to stay calm took a lot more out of him than he thought. One of the girls in the room, Carlie, had slumped into a corner and started to cry. He couldn't blame her one bit. After all, they were about to be forced into a killing game where there weren't truly any winners, just empty husks that manage to make it out of there.

"Carlie, crying isn't going to help the situation." Another girl, Liberty, told her bluntly.

"But they expect us to kill each other! I don't wanna kill anyone. Or be killed!" she added through choked sobs.

After finding a spot to sit in, she dragged her finger through the dirt on the ground before talking again. "I don't think we have much of a choice. If they think we're taking too long, they'll do something about it." The crying from Carlie intensified when she finished talking.

"Hunt or be hunted, huh?" Nolan quietly commented to himself as he adjusted his glasses. He looked around the room and took a head count of the people trapped in the room. Including himself, there were five of them right now. The idea of them all dying crept into his mind. He grit his teeth and tried to shake the idea out of his head. There had to be a way out of this. If they had any chance of everyone getting out of there alive, they needed to find the chink in their captor's armor and exploit it. Though, finding it was a big if in and of itself. So far, they've been able to evade capture, no doubt thanks to where they decided to set up shop. Still, there had to be a way. Somehow. Someway. They all had to work together to stand a chance, though he doubted some of the fellows that were in the bus with them were going to be so willing.

He fished around in his pockets for any tissues or handkerchiefs that might be on him. Thankfully, he found one in his coat pocket. He walked over to the crying blonde and crouched down, offering it to her. "Here. We can't keep crying if we want to get out of here."

    OOC KILLS MOOD

Dominic didn't like this any better than anyone else. Being pushed around by other people was not okay. He did the pushing. Watching these fools wave guns at them just royally pissed him off. Who were they to think they could just shove guns in their faces and order them around? He wasn't going to have it. Instead, he decided to do the one thing no one else was try -- to fight back. He swung around in the hall with a deathly glint in his eyes. There wasn't much Dominic could do with his hands bound behind his back, but that wouldn't stop him from trying.

What would, was the sudden jolt to his neck and the current of electricity coursing through his body. Dominic fell to his knees and began convulsing on the ground as the masked man with the gun pointed a remote at him. He wouldn't stop. The electric agony went on for at least a solid minute. He cried out in pain, but the act only made him more pissed off rather than submissive. The guy ushered the rest of the group through the doors and into the room ahead of him. He received a swift kick to the abdomen followed by one to his face. This was what they got for disobeying so soon. Won't tell ya again, resisting is useless. The man gave him another kick to the waist before walking off down the hall and leaving him on the floor.

Dominic groaned in pain and blood ran down his face. The viscous red liquid leaked from his nose and mouth. He raised his hand up in an attempt to slow the bleeding, and painfully struggled to his feet. Dominic limped into the room and collapsed on the floor in the corner. He looked up at the other guys in his group and spat blood out on the floor. If those sons of bitches think they can just control us, they've got another thing coming. He wouldn't let anyone get off on his misfortune, especially not assholes like them.

Sleep always involved a lot of tossing and turning, throwing sheets on and off, getting up for water or to brush his teeth in case he'd forgotten (He hadn't). It was hard to stay calm, to lie down and slide back into dream, where an extra set of legs ruffled the oily yellow sheets. He smelled something sharply sweet, like a fruit with a hard-to-pronounce name. Icy hands caked in sweat - How could they be so cold, the rest was so hot - pressed his shoulders back. Something brushed against his cheek, and he opened his eyes (Hadn't realized they were closed) - all he saw were peach-pink lips forming the phrase,

    Quit fussing.

    Drip. Drip. Drip.

Jenn's head pounded, and his back was beginning to ache. He realized he was sitting down, back to a hard wall, and shook himself awake. Dark room, concrete walls. That drip was coming from a loose pipe somewhere above. And as he tried to stand, he found himself chilled to the bone and collapsed awkwardly against the wall.

Something caught his arm and brought him up the rest of the way.
    Guys, J.D.'s awake.

A familiar voice. Jenn looked sidelong at a mop of bright chestnut hair and a big, toothy grin, except several of those teeth glistened red.

    Dom? What's with your face?

    Hey, fuck you too, man.

The memory came back in a fog. Gunshots from the front of a bus. Understanding was immediate. The bus erupted in screams. One man barked orders over the noise. With a quick nod to Dom, Jenn jumped out of his seat and pushed his fist through the nearest hood's nose. He wrestled the man to the floor of the bus, shirt twisting and wrinkling, feeling for something solid and metal... There, a gun. He grasped it by the barrel. Then, a hideous burst of pain in the back of his head. He swung his free hand back, hit nothing - swung again, caught a cheek. Tried to flip the gun forwards, but another sharp jolt in the head set his vision blurry.

The gun slipped from his hand. An arm wrapped around his chest and forced him back, wham, onto the floor. The bus came to a stop. Distantly he heard something that sounded like a bug zapper. Then, clop, clop, clop, and a thick, gravely voice from somewhere above:
Goddamn, he fights like a tiger. This'll be fun to watch.

Nothing between now and then (except fretful sleep), but Jenn could guess the rest. These were the men who'd caused all those disappearances. He looked around - Only a few others in the area. If everyone else was split up into groups about this size, there'd only be a few more. Dom saw him taking stock and spoke up.

We figured out there's prolly four teams. Guess they expect us to go SAW on each other.

Fuck that. I'm gonna floss with their spines.

Fuckin' A, Dom guffawed, but he seemed to agree.

We need to find the others. More of us there are, the harder it'll be for them to kill us. Let's move, people.

Awoken to a dim, cold, unbearable situation with a fraction of the original count.
Isn't that a typical cliche? He would never say this out loud of course for fear of being the one who "Knows too much." In these situations, the more you knew how to avoid a situation, the more likely you were to get the axe. And though Simon appreciated the cinema styled recreation that films could provide, he didn't want to be acting out his own death scene anytime soon.

Still, it was a tempting thought considering the wide variety of diverse students in his small group of six. Gymnast, Violinist, Parkour fanatic, a Brain, and the artsy one. He would have loved to have follow these characters on a developing journey if it was outside these life threatening circumstances.

Speaking of, they were still kind of in that predicament... But what was Simon to do? He was usually the one on the other side of the screen, but what do you do when placed onto the scene as the director yells action? No script. No lines. Just go with it.

But no one was waiting for him to be queued in at the time, so hopefully he would only need to spew out a few lines before the group's directory could be agreed upon. He still didn't know who would lead this ragtag group out of danger, but he sadly knew an inconvenient truth that he didn't want to mention.

Something that always happens at the end of this situation.
Something that is discovered after the police arrive too late.
Something the survivors always have to live with.

    Casualties.

Throughout the whole ordeal of watching the bus driver get shot, being kidnapped off the bus and being guided to this place and having shock collars placed on their necks, Allen had remained quiet. Though it wasn't due to him contemplating the situation or anything like that, his silence was due to a mixture of fear and not knowing what to do. Sure he was a problem solver, but the only life or death problems he solved were either hypothetical or in video games where one could simply restart the last checkpoint or auto-save if a fatal mistake was made.

Now if that was the case here, then this wouldn't be much of a problem. Just wait for the to be continued screen and select the appropriate option. Hell, a live test for a horror video game would be just as good. Least then there would be no worries about dying. Unfortunately it would take either a pretty ignorant or oblivious person to know hear at least something about the exact situation that they were in. This wasn't a game, it was real and they would be forced to kill each other.

As he looked at all the other students around around him. Most of them he's either seen before or hear their names before. However out of all of them there were only two of them that he actually talked too more than once and they were Casey and Leon. Well Casey more so. His friendship with Leon wasn't the most potent one, but it was still a friendship none the less.

Static sounds and a voice cuts through the speakers
on the walls in each of the rooms.
"The first challenge is about to begin. Choose a single representative from each of your groups to participate. You have five minutes or else."
The voice disappears and after a moment, the static ends as well.

    "Those damn sons of bitches"

Before he could even fully awaken the sheer swear had been ushered out of his lips and Derron's body began to move. Eyes shut tight and teeth clenched tight, Derron stumbled up to his feet and rose up and scratched the back of his head, grumbling a great deal of swears. A flurry of rage burned deep inside the teenage and nothing more all he wanted to do was strangle the damn bastards that dared to capture him

He had heard about these bastards and their damn idiotic games, but he was like the others and didn't expect this in the slightest. The bus driver was shot and what he hated the most was how helpless he was. He damn well did not go down without a fight that was sure, he did his best to at least do something to his captors. A punch was sent towards a captor but force hit his back and caused the pain to grow. He was confident in his power, but they had weaponry and numbers. He was overpowered and everything was a blank.

Once the rage cooled down a tad he glanced over at the others residing in the same room and narrowed his eyes with a small smirk "Well...you bastards are here as well..." Derron said without any real disgust. He was quite glad to see Jen and Dominic as he sure as hell knew that the two could rile up some trouble. His eyes glanced over at the others and noticed the silver haired brown kid standing silently. He knew his name was Aeron, but the kid was pretty silent and kept to himself.

Before he could say more the voice coming from a speaker made itself known and Derron glanced upwards to acknowledge the message "Alright...which one of you wants to raise hell?" Derron said.

    OOC KILLS MOOD

Five minutes. That was all the time they were allotted to pick someone who would most likely die. None of this was fair in the least bit. Matt wondered how his sister was doing with all of this. She was strong and levelheaded. She was probably the one holding their whole group together. Then again, this could be what breaks her. He was afraid she might be panicking in a corner somewhere in this godforsaken building without him able to come to her aid. What kind of brother couldn't protect his sister when she was in the most danger?

    That was it.

Matt stood up, his legs shaky, and cleared his throat. I'll - I'll do it, the slothish teen stammered. Matt never did anything. He was always one hundred percent completely demotivated, but he knew his sister and seriously feared that she might be stupid enough to volunteer herself to help keep the others in her group at ease. She looked down on so many people, but couldn't stand to watch them suffer. He had to protect her. It was his job.

If Libby volunteered, then he could keep her safe by volunteering as well. If she didn't, well then he would have to do his best to stick around long enough to see her again.

His heart hammered in his chest as he leaned against the door frame. Matt's knees knocked together so vigorously he wasn't sure he would make it to the challenge. How was he supposed to face people that wanted to kill him, if he could barely look those in her group in the eye. He tried to swallow, but instead leaned over to vomit. This was utterly terrifying. They were actually going to die ...

The driver was shot. Someone died before them. They're going to die. There was no getting out of this. They were all going to perish.

He was probably going to be first. While not completely weak he wasn't exactly strong, either. That's why he could never stand up to bullies. Or anyone really. They were higher up on the food chain. And now he was at the very bottom. He was weak. Too weak. He was going to die with nothing to show for besides a news report. Better than nothing, but with how unremarkable as he people were just going to glance over his name and pay more attention to the others.

His greatest fear. Dying and leaving nothing behind. Not even a child or a masterpiece of some sort. Not even a note for someone to find and read or a letter to his crush finally confessing everything he felt towards them.

    Nothing.

The only way anyone will remember him now was if he won. But the chances of that...

I don't want this. I don't want to die. I want to live. I want to be remembered.

Now in the corner, breathing heavily, was Ethan. Up until now he was silent and appeared as if he was handling this well. But now everything just broke down. They were caged and collared like animals. And now one of them had to set up to die.

    I don't want to do it. I don't want to go. I don't-

    "I'll - I'll do it."

Sudden and strong relief. The debate of accepting death and wanting to live was put off, even if only for a few minutes. Someone else was going first. So even if he died now he wouldn't have been the first to go. That would make him more memorable at least. Though shortly after these thoughts and feelings was remorse and disgust. He truly had to be a horrible person to be glad someone else was going.

That did not stop the smile though. But as soon as he noticed it a frown followed.

    KILLS ❣ N/A // MOOD ❣ PETRIFIED // OOC ❣
    (╯ಊ╰)

It was the bullet that put an end to the driver that did it for her.

She was rather chatty with some of the students on the bus before it got hijacked - especially with her friend, Allen. But everything seemed to happen in flashes. The men got into the bus, there were screams and yells and all the lanky artist could do was watch in terror. When the gun was pulled out, she honestly thought it was just a threat for them to get them to do what they would say. Sure, it scared her to bits! But it wasn't until the loud bang of the gun rung around the walls of the bus and she let out a sharp gasp and saw the thick, red liquid trickling out of where the driver had been shot until the entire situation really sunk in.

It was probably because she was so stricken with fear why she came to accept what exactly was happening. She was never a fan of blood and seeing it so close made her feel queasy. The color drained from her cheeks, tears welled up in her eyes, her body tensed and breathing was suddenly a struggle but no one seemed to mind since they were all being pushed around, tied up, and transported. All that time, she couldn't get it out of her head. The blood. The gore.

By the time the bus had been separated into smaller groups, each student had shock collars, were given a very stern warning and left on their own. Although disturbed out of her mind by the blood, she soon came to an understanding that what was happening to them wasn't just some kind of kidnapping - it was the one she saw in the news every once in a while. It never occurred to her that she would ever fall victim to it and this made her feel even more nauseous. She looked around her group as Sanica spoke up. Casey didn't pay much attention to her because she spotted her white haired buddy Allen and she was so ready to get up and run over to him and start actually crying or breaking down or something to feel some kind of security and comfort but that's when static sounds fill the air and a voice crackles through the speakers.

"The first challenge is about to begin. Choose a single representative from each of your groups to participate. You have five minutes or else."

Then everything went quiet again. She stared blankly at a wall wide eyed, gulping down a lump in her throat and trying not to vomit. This was real. Her ruby eyes traveled amongst the faces of her group. She didn't dare speak up. She didn't want to volunteer at all, heck, she didn't want to be part of it at all. More so, she definitely wasn't in any state to participate - her entire body felt like ice had frozen it over and becoming immobile, her throat felt like it closed up completely and her lungs felt like they had been pierced by needles allowing only little air to circulate her body.

Her eyes fell down on Allen at a distance, she pressed her lips tightly together. She hoped to the universe that he wouldn't be the one to volunteer. She couldn't help but feel that these challenges were only going to hack down the number of survivors each time and leave everyone else's corpses in a blood bath.

A shiver ran down her spine at that crimson thought.

Fear. Anyone who wasn't feeling that emotion right now to some degree must have either not been paying attention or have no ability to emote. She didn't need to see the fear or anything, heck it felt even better for her to look at calm faces.

She hated the feeling of the collar, but resisted trying to tug at it. She didn't want to know what would happen if she tried to take it off. She tried to keep a calm composure, but she kept letting out nervous chuckles every time she murmured a comment. Rae Anne listened to the speaker announcement and the following silence seemed worse than ever.

The idea of them all having to kill each other wasn't sitting with her well at all. And when she sat next to the black haired cross-dresser they seemed to be in the same predicament and whispered to her,
"I don't think I will be able to kill anyone... I really d-"

"If you don't, you're gonna be the one dead." Rae Anne whispered back.

Finally after a bit of time, one of the older boys she didn't really know or talk to spoke up, "I'll- I'll do it." he sounded so unsure when he said it, that Rae Anne finally rolled her eyes and finally spoke, "Are you sure? Don't don't sound sure. Because I'll go..."

    OOC KILLS MOOD

Matt was lingering in the doorway, counting the passing seconds. His heart rate increased with each that went by. He was really doing this. He would probably die within the hour because of this. Matt was not smart in the least bit, but he definitely did not think he was this stupid. It was terrifying and suicidal and he was really, really dumb for volunteering. If only he could tell them he was kidding or something, but he had to look out for Liberty. She was his baby sister.

Are you sure? Don't don't sound sure. Because I'll go...

He looked over to the source of the voice and saw Rae Anne looking like a sourpuss and not in the least bit scared. What was wrong with that girl? Matt cleared his throat but words escaped him. He was both relieved and scared all at once. She was offering to go and she didn't look bothered by it at all, but if he didn't do it then something might happen to Libby. He couldn't trust his younger sister to not step up just to prove a point. It was something that she did, always looking down on everyone else. If no one else was willing to go in her group, then she definitely would. I - ah, um ... he stammered. I'm not sure. I don't want to go, but if something happens to Libby ...

Rae Anne closed her eyes and let out an annoyed grunt, Is Libby someone close to you or something?

Matt looked at her incredulously before shaking his head. She's my younger sister -- really smart, kind of snobby.

Oh, the Junior? Alright... well... she crossed her arms and thought about it for a moment before she spoke, If you don't want to go... I'll go and make sure your little sis doesn't get killed right away... or at least doesn't get killed by me. she tilted her head towards him and spoke, Sound good?

It wasn't very reassuring, but it was the best he could hope for given the situation. Reluctantly, Matt nodded. Yeah, sounds good. he agreed. Matt sat back down on the floor with a heavy breath as the speaker began to crackle with static again.

Sanica looked around the room. She had fear in her eyes. Her blonde hair fell over the sides of her face.

"The first challenge is about to begin. Choose a single representative from each of your groups to participate. You have five minutes or else."

A shiver ran through her. She looked around. First at Brady then Simon along with Allen, Lester and Casey. She held her breath. Could she risk it? Hoping that her brother had also volunteered? She shook her head. No... or yes? Could she do it? She knew she wasn't as powerful as the others. She wasn't sure. She wasn't sure of it. But... She stood up. Her eyes were brave, but the rest of her shook. She told herself she could do it, that she wasn't scared "All men lie when they are afraid." She heard her brothers voice, telling her not to be scared. "Wear that scar with pride." She tied her short blonde hair into a bun, exposing her scars. She found a new rise in her, something that made her feel powerful. "I'll go, I volunteer." She told them. "I won't sit here in silence while the clock ticks." She announced, her voice dripping with power. "I'll go." She took a deep breath. She was ready, though she wasn't sure what was going to happen, what else could she do? She bet only one of them would make it, but she had to try. She had to do her best.

The speakers fill with static once more and the voice echoes out of it.
"Time is up. If you have not decided yet, you will be punished. If you have, go to the small box in the corner of the room and open it. Inside will be a headset. This will allow us to communicate with you in private. You will do exactly as you are told if you do not wish to die before the first challenge even begins. Those that survive will receive a reward. Let us begin."

"All men lie when they are afraid." She heard it over and over again. The blood rushed and pounded into her ears, as if they were going to explode. She stopped shaking, letting the power go into her fist "I'm not afraid." She thought, clenching her jaw.

"Time is up. If you have not decided yet, you will be punished. If you have, go to the small box in the corner of the room and open it. Inside will be a headset. Sanica walked to the small box. She put on the head seat carefully, making sure it was secured tightly. "I'm ready." She whispered to herself, as if to boost her own confidence. She looked at the other members of her group. "Hang in there." She said, giving them a cheeky smile. Smiling on the outside stopped the pain on the inside. "Those that survive will receive a reward..... maybe that means that, all of us have the chance to live this time..." She thought to herself. "Maybe...." She thought. "But what is this test? Skill, Brawn? It doesn't matter NOW. I guess, I'll just have to do my best."
