She thought she heard a voice as she began to walk away, but when she turned around, Quin seemed distracted by something. She perked an eyebrow and pressed her lips together in thought. With a few more moments, Madeline shook her head and began the walk back to her car. Her cheeks were burning. She had meant it when she said she didn't regret attending the concert, but she did wonder why she had thought it would change something. She still did not like crowds, or people...Especially the people from school.

She was stupid to think that any of this -- coming here -- would alter that. There was no use in an attempt to redeem herself, because she wasn't going to change and she honestly doubted anyone cared enough to notice one, if she did. Except for maybe Thomas. His obsessive interest in her wouldn't allow anything to go unnoticed...Unless that interest was gone now. She figured it was. There had been no text or calls from him since they were supposed to go on that stupid date. ...She couldn't think about that.

Madeline picked up the pace and gazed upwards into the dimming sky to distract herself. Thomas. Quin. Scarf boy. So many interactions had happened since that god damned email. It seemed like most of the others didn't believe it, including herself, but what if it were true? What if she truly had -- what, -- ninety-seven days to live, now?

...She wouldn't care. There was no need to break any of the rules the email had written about, so that would make her death quick and painless anyway, right? She didn't mind dying. She wasn't afraid of it. In fact, she was almost excited to die. Whatever lie beyond this realm was probably very captivating...and if nothing came after this hellish world, then she had nothing to worry about. There was no point in her existing. Humans were scum, and she was no exception.

    "Aack!"

    Not again!

She stumbled back but managed to stop herself from falling after the collision. Her eyes became icy daggers that drilled and twisted into the tear-filled eyes of the tall boy before her. She had been so close to her car, too. So many fucking people! She brushed herself off and muttered something incomprehensible.

    ...Tear-filled.

What the fuck, why was he crying? Dear God, she couldn't have hurt him, right? She was so small in comparison! There's no way--but he was CRYING. Holy shit, what a day. She stared at him dumbfounded.

Oh, haha. I FORGOT TO MENTION SOMETHING IMPORTANT HAHAHA.

The way Revive worked (and the way this works somewhat) with the declarations and deaths and such is the more inactive you are, the more likely you are to be killed off or fiddled around with. Just a fair warning. This is not a threat, or a POST MORE motivator. Deaths and such will still occur mainly from disobeying, but it's more likely to happen to or affect your character negatively if you don't post often / have your character firmly fused into the plotline. (Obviously someone who's written their character to be very involved in everything dying or being altered would be more destructive to the RP itself and therefore less likely to happen--unless the results would drive the story further.)

In Revive, if you didn't post after a certain amount of time, I'd kill you or completely flip your character around. (Made one guy's character suddenly a pregnant female). ETC. That's not the case here because we have a day count, so it's more of how involved and crucial to the story your character is.

    That being said, two things;

I realized we posted so fast and frequently in the beginning because the RP started over the weekend, haha. School probably slows a lot of you guys down. So, if you need a day extension, please ask for one. If at least three people ask for one before whatever day it is is over with, then I'll allow more time to post / wrap things up. Note that this is ONLY allowed if you have reason and it's IMPOSSIBLE for you to post. Meaning that if you're posting everywhere else on KHV, and you're on Skype and Tumblr or Facebook or MSN and you have TIME but you're choosing NOT to post, I won't consider it valid. Make sure you provide a reason and are legitimately busy!

This isn't a requirement, but I think we all kind of bond with our character. That being said, if you would like to stick this RP out until the end, I suggest you have another character so that if one of yours dies, you're not just ... out. (Ex; Fuzzy's character Thomas died, but at least he still has John). That's just a word of advice, haha.

    Simply excellent.

When the performance ended, Madeline joined the others in a rapturous applause. It took her a few moments to notice that she was actually smiling, but when she did, she wiped the expression away immediately. It was time to find somewhere to go now, she thought. She would get up while everyone began conversing with each other like usual after a show, and she would drive around Coy for a bit. She could finally get something to eat, too. That's what she would focus on first. Food.

However, she found herself unable to really move once the performance ended. There were so many people and she was getting claustrophobic. A group had gathered towards the back to talk -- and they were so damn loud. It shocked her how quickly social people got to chatting. How quickly everything went from calm and serene to disruptive and obnoxious. By the time she snapped out of it, Quin was beside her. She jumped. Jesus! Despite her surprise, she was actually somewhat glad to get the chance to congratulate her.

...And then her cheeks started to burn as memories of the other day came crashing back into her skull. She looked away then, and started to fidget a bit with her fingers.

"Quin, that was gorgeous. I really...You're really good," She murmured in a quiet voice. She meant it, but her enthusiasm was lacking. Was she nervous? She had no reason to be, right? She was slowly beginning to trust Quin. She didn't seem like the type of girl to exploit ... certain things. She started to build up her confidence and smiled. "To be honest, I..."

"You were absolutely amazing as ever. Better than last year even. I told you it'd go great."

    Oh.

"That was beautiful, Quin! I would love to come to your next concert!"

    Oh.

She shut her mouth and picked her bag up from beneath her chair with a small, timid nod in response to the boy and girl. What was she still doing here anyway? She needed to be somewhere. Not home, or Reuben's, but somewhere, surely. Not here. She wasn't supposed to be here. Too many people. Quin didn't need her congratulations. She had many more to accept.

She gave a small wave towards Quin and turned to go.

The park was full of people now, and the more familiar faces Madeline picked out of the crowd, the happier she was that she had chosen to sit in the back. Luckily, no one else bothered her before some woman stepped out onto the stage to announce Quin. Madeline sat up straight in her seat. The sooner Quintus was finished, the sooner she could go... Where would she go? Not back to Reuben's. Not home.

Instead of dwelling on that (or her hunger), she took a deep, calming breath and closed her eyes. The piece was exquisite; absolutely beautiful--if not a bit long. M truly did adore music and Quin's playing was superb. Despite everything, she didn't regret showing up.

I am genuinely terrified. I haven't uploaded a Full English dub on YT in forever and I'm really scared I'm going to wake up in the morning with 500 dislikes, so. Just going to leave this here while I go off and cry and hate myself.

I really love this song, though. I wonder who else here is watching Magi...?

...Never? What did he mean? Was he talking about that stupid email? She wouldn't lie and say that she wouldn't be pleased with never having to interact again (with anyone, really), but the way he had said it was eerie and a little annoying.
Her stomach cramped and she closed her eyes. She should have asked him if he had anything to eat.

Interaction. How irritating. It was the last thing she wanted, hence sitting in the back. She ignored him at first, just for a few moments, but then took a deep breath. The whole point of going to this concert was to make up for Friday, right? She had freaked out on this guy earlier, it made no sense to treat him like filth now. She smiled softly and nodded awkwardly. What was she supposed to say? She couldn't just blurt out that her hatred of people drove her to sit in the back--and she didn't want to tell him that what happened on Friday was okay, because it wasn't. Not for her. It couldn't be helped though.

"It's fine." She commented quietly. "I prefer the back. Too loud in the front."

Madeline was stirred by the sound of the apartment door opening; and deep, obnoxious voices booming from each side of her. She forced her eyes to snap open and sat up straight within seconds. Her fingers combed through her knotted hair as she searched frantically for her bag, digging through it with urgency before pulling her phone out and flicking her finger across the screen. It illuminated, alerting her that it was already 6:20 PM. How could she have slept for that long? Emotions really were draining, weren't they? She'd have to start holding back again.

The voices got louder and she snapped out of her stupor. Their shouts were muffled to her; low and grumbling, as blocked with an invisible wall. This was intentional. She refused to hear anything they had to say. She had taught herself to be as unresponsive as possible. Usually Reuben would step in and stop anything that got too bad. He told her long ago that he had a soft spot for her. They were 'family', after all.

Sure enough, after three agonizing minutes or so, they were led into another room by Reuben. Before he vanished down the hall, he nodded towards Madeline's bag again and flashed her another smile. She let out a gasp of breath she had been holding as she heard the door close, and reached her hand back into her bag. At first, she found nothing, but then her fingers traced over a familiar texture. She wrapped her hand around it and pulled out a wad of cash bundled up with a rubberband and a note attached.

    [parsehtml]Be good, precious. Stay strong.
- Reu. [/parsehtml]
She smiled, honestly. That nickname brought back the good kind of memories. Sometimes, she felt like he really cared about her. Sometimes.

She counted the money. $350. What was this even for? Just out of the kindness of his heart? Or would she have to make up for it later? She couldn't tell and didn't care to find out. Instead, she pulled herself up and grabbed her keys; stepping out of the apartment and back to her car.

She told Quintus that she would be at her concert, so she would. There was no way she was going home, so she stopped by the mall and picked out something to wear. She changed in the bathroom and threw her old outfit into the backseat. The whole drive to Sealand Park was spent debating on whether or not to burn or trash it. She didn't want anymore distractions or thoughts of Thomas. He hadn't called or text'd her back so she was done trying. She could find someone else to do a stupid photoshoot.

When she arrived at the park, she quickly found parking and exited her car. It was a cool day out. The gentle breeze carried the warmth of Autumn with it. It felt good. A nice change from Reuben's apartment and her own muggy home. The amphitheater was large without being overwhelming, and there were still many open seats (though more and more people were starting to arrive). Madeline took this opportunity to find a seat in the back, alone, where she was most comfortable.

Hunger hit her suddenly and she groaned. This was her eating day and she had completely forgotten to grab a bottle of water or something from the mall. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Hopefully she could make it through.

Also, guys, if I have to say it one more time I swear I will bring CRESTATIA'S WRATH DOWN UPON YOU ALL. NO ONE should know that Thomas is dead yet. NOT YET.

Ah okay. I liked your post though. v: So definitely save it for later, that was extremely clever.

    DAY 2
    -RECAP-
Note: This recap will not substitute you actually READING, so do that if you have not or you'll miss things.
The recap will only cover things that directly influence the story.
(I am not a perfect human being, so I may have missed some things)

    Thomas is dead.

    Madeline
had a breakdown and Quin comforted her.

Temperance and Cherno met at Stacey's to discuss the email (I'm not sure the email was actually discussed properly). Anthony and Quin eventually joined them.

Madeline's mother locked her out of her house and burned Thomas' photos.

Cherno had a complete meltdown because he is apparently a germophobe. Quin comforts him.

Ashina's band the Black Angels joins the Youth Music Contest. The band will play in two weeks.

Temperance meets her boyfriend at the park to talk about their relationship (and possibly break up?). He's a jealous jerk about it.

Madeline spends the night at Reuben's house after her mother goes batshit.

    CONCLUSIONS/NOTES?

Hero of Time has a broken finger or something so he's out for about a week. If he's gone for 10+ days, removing.

HeartlessOfLight missed the 48 hour mark, but wrote a moderately detailed Tumblr post to compensate. You go, man. You go. Just try not to miss Quin's concert!!

Some people need to actively read the OOC thread. Hopefully the problems caused by not won't happen again. *u*

Some people should try to manage their time a bit better! There was a specific scenario started on first of the second day that did not finish in time. It's okay to be busy, everyone here but me has a life, but if you know you're pressed for time try to post to accommodate that. In other words, if your too busy to finish a "I'm going to the mall to shop with my friends!" scenario, then maybe you should opt for something simpler that you can easily wrap up if you don't get through it by the time the last day ends.

If someone is holding you back from posting, post without them. You can either pretend like they're unresponsive:

    Bill: Makin' my way downtown...
Joe: Hey do you want a ride?
    Bill: Yes!
    Joe: /no post
Bill: Well I guess you changed your mind. /continues on with life.

Or post in OOC explaining that you want to move on, but can't, and just pretend like the interaction never happened:

    Bill: Makin' my way downtown...
Joe: Hey do you want a ride?
    Bill: Yes!
    Joe: /no post
Bill: ...Makin' my way downtown... /continues on with life.

    Anthony is adorable.

Madeline's mother is normally on medication.

    Elizabeth is mysterious as ****.

    Quin is The Comforter.

John works at a soup kitchen from time to time (?)

Danny's favorite band is The XX. He may ask Quin for her number? OooOOOooh lala.

    [parsehtml]
[/parsehtml]

Regarding day 3, anyone can post now. This is the day of Quin's concert. The concert is at 7pm if I remember correctly. The start time of Day Three should be 6:30pm then. Feel free to elaborate on how the rest of your day went up until this point. We're starting at this time because we want to fit in as much interaction between all of the characters as possible before three days is up so post, post, post!

WEARING | LATEST TUMBLR UPDATE | OOC: Less than an hour before Day 3. |

    Tobacco. Alcohol. Sweat.

Her immunity to this sick combination of scents must have been worn off during her time away. How long had it been, even? At least a month. Now that she was back, her time elsewhere seemed surreal. She was still shaking from earlier; though much less frequently and for reasons she could not comprehend. She wasn't scared anymore, was she? No. That feeling had passed a long time ago. She didn't feel anything other than exhaustion now. She was so tired.

    Please, just let me sleep.

Madeline sat on a couch with her knees pressed firmly together and fingertips curled around the top of her purse. Across from her, a tall, scraggly young man sat with a cigarette pinched between his lips and his back curved into a sinking loveseat. They had been sitting there for a good five minutes and he had yet to actually say anything to her. He had been staring since the moment he opened the apartment door for her. He seemed dumbfounded as to why she was there, actually.

"Madeline," He said calmly before taking a deep suck on his cigarette. He removed it from his mouth and flashed a small smile. The thick smoke swirled around him as he leaned forward. "Why are you here, precious?"

Her eyes lifted to meet his reluctantly. Reuben was Kera's son. Well, one of the ones Madeline actually met during her time at Uncle Reed's. He was twenty-two and spoiled rotten. She honestly didn't know much about him. She did, however, know that he made a living off of drugs, alcohol and sex. She wasn't sure how much of a 'living' that actually was, but he had helped her out on multiple occasions with cash so she didn't complain.

"My mom went crazy again. She's probably off the medication...I don't want to go home. I'm tired--" She failed to hold back a yawn and he let out a low chuckle, throwing and smashing the cigarette out on the carpet underneath the heel of his right foot. Slob.

"Sure, sure." He muttered; his voice sharp with the tiniest trace of disappointment.

He stood, disappeared into a hallway, and moments later returned with a blanket and a pillow. Madeline nearly forgot to catch them when he threw them her way. When she failed to respond to his offer with any sort of appreciation, he stepped closer until he was hovering slightly over her. She continued to stay quiet and still as he ran his fingers through her long hair and kissed the top of her head.

"Don't worry, lovely." He purred. His fingers left her and he stepped away to turn off the living room lamp. "You don't have to work tonight. Just rest."

In minutes, she curled up and collapsed on that filthy couch, completely oblivious to everything around her.
