The Orphanage

Eva stumbled, then hit a guard. She fell back, gasping for air. Her stomach already hurt. The guard reached for her in a very inappropriate place, and she kicked him, rolling away. He came after her again, almost zombie like. She winced, ready to get a serious beating.

Aly narrowed her eyes, then the guard attacking Eva fell back. "Hey sis." she smiled, helping her sister up and hugging her.

Ren continued to run to the side getting closer to him

 

Kaylee blinked, her face bright red and hot. She felt her bottom lip tremble slightly as the thought crossed her mind. The girlish instinct to squeal and dash away tugged at her but she remained there, staring up at Scott.

The girl took a deep, long breath as she slowly took a step closer. She felt strange, almost sick. But for some reason it was a good thing. Kaylee stopped right in front of him, so close that the soft fabric of her thin cotton shirt met that of his own. She lifted her face to meet his with a slight nod, trembling with shyness as she lifted herself to her tip toes.

"May...May I have a kiss...?"

 

takeshi glanced at them then kept moving
"great now i have two things to worry about" he muttered

 

Eva narrowed her eyes, shifting into an eagle.

Aly rolled her eyes, then ran after him, laughing as the eagle followed her.

 

takeshi turned a corner and froze turning to the girls
"um were gonna want to go the other way" he said terror on his face

 

Aly frowned, letting Eva land on her shoulder. "Why?"

"oh no reason lets just go" he said pushing them the other direction
suddenely a ton of guards came around the corner panting
"there they are get them!"
"RUN!!" yelled takeshi taking off like a bullet

 

Eva pushed off Aly's arm, screeching as she led the way. Aly just laughed and ran. "Can you hide us for two seconds?" she asked Takeshi, panting.

 

Christina grinned, stepping away from Kendrith and raising her right arm. She snapped, and the guards surrounded the group.

Kaylee frowned, her face a bright red. She stood a few feet away from him, completely caught off guard.

"O-oh...?" She blinked; and then heard Christina's voice.

 

Kendrith began to clap his hands slowly and sarcastically.

"Impressive, most impressive gifts. Most don't last as long as you have. We've been slow and sloppy as of late. consider yourself lucky. We can now end your miserable existances early.

The guards armed their weapons and aimed for the children.

 

Eva stopped, her heart beating wildly. No no no no no!

Aly stopped, closing her eyes. Please let this work. She sent a mass image to the soldiers, or tried to. The children were running down the hallways.

 

He moved closer to Kaylee and the others, a fireball in hand. He kept his eyes trained on the director, his potential target. "We could be in some trouble here..." He said to the others in a low voice. "Hm..."

 

Christina eyed them all carefully, a small smile on her lips as she leaned over to Kendrith. Her arm was still raises and on her word, they would shoot.

"What should we do?" She asked, more for the sake of the hesitant Sam then for herself.

 

Kendrith's bemused facade broke around his lips and curled into a selfsatisfied grin.

"Lets have sam give the order. He needs the experience."

 

Eva shifted back, thinking quickly. She stood next to her sister, who was stil trying to send the image. "Too many..." Aly murmured.

 

Sam suddenly looked up from the ground, his hands which had been covering his ears dropped to his sides as he stared surprised.

"Why m-me, s-sir?" He stammered, eyes wide behind his glasses.

 

Eva looked at the other guy. "He's different....Aly, can you concentrate on him?"
