Klaire smiled to herself, not having expected Valin to actually assist her. She continued to dig, clearly focused on unveiling what was below the surface until a gentle ray of light started to show. She tilted her head, stopping Valin and brushing some more rubble away before she saw it. She frowned. There was no way this could be right.

Slowly and reluctantly, Klaire reached down and grasped the long shaft of a golden weapon resembling that of an axe, almost, but much larger. The girl stared at it with wide eyes, looking from side to side awkwardly.

"A....Halberd." She nearly choked out, looking around again. There had to be something else. There absolutely had to be something else for her. She wasn't planning on hacking anyone to bits, why would she use this thing? Didn't she wish for the least violent weapon possible? Why would she get THIS? Standing up, Klaire turned quickly and narrowed her eyes in frustration before she dropped the halberd on the ground. "Come on, there has to be..." She trailed off, hearing something.

Klaire...Come back. She stiffened, turning around and looking back at the weapon with a soft groan. "Oh no...No, no...Why?" She turned to glance at Valin before huffing and grabbing the weapon again, dragging it along the ground as she turned around in the direction of the Inn.

"Guess I found it." She muttered bitterly and disappointedly.

Demetrio was walking the street saying little since there was no one there he walked while having his weapon sheathed.

As soon as his eyes caught sight of the weapon, Valin's eyes widened in shock. He stood up silently, watching as Klaire stared at it in disbelief. After several moments of him staying silent, he bursted out laughing, seeing how silly she looked holding the weapon. It really didn't fit, how could someone like Klaire hold a weapon like that? He clutched his stomach as he followed behind her, unable to control his laughter.

Honestly! Does she even have the strength to swing that thing around!? Valin could not even make a witty comment due to what had just happened, he hunched over as he forced himself to calm down taking in several deep breaths as he attempted to regain his composure. I wonder what kind of personality it even has... He though as he finally grew silent again, fixing his eyes on Klaire's new weapon.

Klaire looked back at Valin, glaring daggers before continuing forward towards the Inn. Though she glared, it somehow made her feel a little content knowing he wasn't all stone. At least he had a sense of humor about something. She kept walking. The sun was completely gone now, and with the exception of the moon, the sky was a dark. She wondered briefly how long they had spent there, hoping she would have time to feed Kanon and get some much needed rest before they head out in the morning. She sighed out deep and slow, still dragging the weapon behind her. How she was ever going to fight with this thing was still a mystery.

"...Thank you, again." She said hesitantly. It was really almost nice of him to help her out, though she figured he only felt bad for making her cry. She blushed, staring at the ground and walking still and silently and hoping they'd get there soon.

Valin took in a deep breath, having already settled down from earlier. He rested his hand on his sword as he trailed behind Klaire, continuing to stare at her weapon. His eyes narrowed slightly as the thought of her fighting passed through his mind. "Do you know how to defend yourself?" He stuffed his other hand in his pocket as he wondered how she would look fighting with such an unfitting weapon. "If you don't...well...you know..." He added, trailing off without bothering to finish his sentence. What could he do? Fighting with something like that was far different than using a sword, even if he could teach her the basics of staying alive in a fight...Valin shook his head, teaching someone anything related to fighting was not a good idea when his own blade wanted everything dead.

"You're welcome..." He muttered, lifting his head to stare up at the sky as the two walked. Valin sighed, almost regretting having missed dinner...eating could wait another day.

"I...I don't want to fight at all." She repeated, stubborn. "But if there's anything you could possibly teach me I'll be willing to learn, I guess..." She shivered, finally seeing the Inn in the distance and picking up her pace until she was finally out of the woods, still holding onto her weapon with the utmost reluctance. She walked to the entrance, looking up at the sky. It was already looking lighter. She grimaced and sighed, pulling the small bag of lettuce out of her bag and thinking of Kanon before opening the door and walking inside. Instantly, she felt the warmth over her.

"Well...Um." She frowned, why was she blushing? What was wrong with her? She felt silly, getting frustrated with herself so easily. She looked up at him, another confused and irritated look on her face. She hoped he didn't take it personally. "Goodnight, I guess." She mumbled.

Don't want to fight? Valin lowered his head and placed a hand over his own mouth as he thought about what Klaire had said, wishing everyone else felt the same way. He was always around people that were simply fighting to survive, it was rare nowadays to find people so reluctant to engage in violence...Valin shook his head and raised an eyebrow, hearing Klaire say good night. "Hm?"

Valin lowered his hand to his side and took a moment before responding. "Uh...Good night." He muttered, turning on his heel to move closer towards the entrance door. I might as well do something with the spare time...

Klaire turned from him and nodded slowly, closing her eyes briefly before walking down the long hallway and to the foot of the stairwell and to her room. She definitely wouldn't get much rest now, but it was better than nothing. Besides, she had taken a nap before dinner. She took a deep breath and started to walk up the stairs slowly, trying to make sure not to be too loud as she reached her room.

She could already hear Kanon moving around on her bed and giggled, sitting down on the edge of it, leaning her weapon against the wall, and pulling out her bag. Kanon wasn't like other cats. Along with herself, he had learned not to be picky with what he got to eat. Occasionally, she would try to surprise him with some fish or chicken, but he was grateful for anything. Delicately, she reached into her bag and pulled out a piece of lettuce, holding out her hand. The cat plopped down onto her lap and began to nibble at it, purring loudly.

Yawning, the girl pulled her kitten to the side, leaving the bag open on the edge of the bed and climbing underneath the covers. She closed her tired eyes, curling up for warmth and burying her face in the cool pillow. She shivered, closing her eyes tighter and holding her knees to her chest. She couldn't tell how the day had been to her. But overall, she had gotten her weapon and was able to become an official member now. She had even met someone who didn't treat her like--well...Who offered to help her. She turned around onto her back and stared at the ceiling. It was a good day, when she really thought about it. She sighed and closed her eyes again, smiling slightly as she heard Kanon paw at the bag of lettuce.

Before she knew it, she was drifting off to sleep.

Valin did not hesitate in leaving the building once Klaire was out of sight. He had no intentions of just waiting for trouble to surface. His own blade would not allow him to stay inside for so long and do nothing...it had no more patience for calm moments like these. He rested his left hand on the hilt of his sword as he stepped out into the open, taking a deep breath of fresh air.

I have no idea what to do... Valin wandered about and after a few minutes, he looked down at his sheath only to find that his sword was not there. Instead it was already in his hand, the blade shone feircely under the ambient light which told Valin that it grew weiry of waiting to cut through another being's flesh. He sighed, still amazed how such a violent weapon could pick him or even exist in the first place.

"I'll have hurry up if I want to get back by sunrise." He muttered to himself. Hunting for trouble was never a good idea but if he couldn't find something to satisfy his sword's thirst for blood, it would be more than content with being plunged into one of his allies.

The girl giggled, twisting around slightly in the covers with a smile. She laughed again when she felt more fur brush up against her cheek. It must be morning. Kanon wasn't the type of cat to wake you, unless you needed to be be waken up. Her eyes fluttered open and she winced as sunlight hit them. She picked up Kanon and moved him to the side, patting him on the head in thanks and climbing out of bed. She could hear the heavy footsteps of members trudging down for a last breakfast before they left.

For a moment, she her heart started to quicken. She hadn't forgotten, had she? There was no telling when they'd have a chance to settle down again. And then, she saw it. Her weapon was still leaned up against the wall there, glistening in the golden rays. She breathed out deeply and stretched, climbing out of bed reluctantly and beginning to get ready for the day. She sighed, hoping things would go well and that they wouldn't run into any trouble. Very briefly, her mind wandered back to the previous night and how Valin had helped her. She wasn't quite sure what she would do now. Part of her really wanted to see him again, but the other part...

She shook her head, looking at herself in a mirror and smiling.

"Ready, Kanon?" She questioned, looking over at the cat whom was sitting there staring up at her happily with a mew. She laughed and scooped him up, strapping her weapon awkwardly to her back and grabbing the one bag she even bothered bringing around with her.
