Yeah, this is one of the worst weeks that I've ever had anxiety wise. I suppose all my honors classes are finally taking their toll.

Reproducing offspring was a direct statement from God to Adam and Eve. "Go forth and multiply." Also, because Jesus specifically stated male and female, that statement logically rules out any other option.
You have your position, and I have my position. The most important thing is that you see Jesus as the true and only living son of God. You have an option to accept him in your heart. If you choose not to, your soul will spend eternity in hell, according to the Bible. Can you live with your choice not to believe in Jesus?

One man, one woman. In Matthew Chapter 19:4-6 Jesus articulates marriage, based on God's model, as one man and one woman. Tell me this, how do two members of the same sex naturally produce offspring?

Please find me a reference where Jesus referred to, in the New Testament, to two men and or two women getting married. (Here's a hint: You won't find one. He only ever mentions one man and one woman getting married. ;))

But, you know, all the points you gave me were Old Testament- in the NEW Testament, Jesus declares the ideal marriage to be for one man and one woman. So yeah.

Grr. This isn't over. I am not blind, and I am going to ask my pastor tomorrow morning why God was okay with this. yes, times were different, but the bible is NOT outdated in everything.

Yeah, I gotcha. And it was (unfortunately) the common practice, and for the record, I find it disgusting. I think it was just so they'd have male heirs though.

Look, I understand what you meant on the Gay Marriage thread. But just because it was the common practice in those times to take more than one wife doesn't mean the bible condoned it.
