It's raining where you live? If so I am very jealous. I love the rain.
Anyways, I am getting ready for soccer practice in about 45 minutes. You?

Ah but for all our faith in something we only know that our whole heart is in it if we question it.
Blind faith is dangerous in any religion, it is better if we question the world around us, the people around us and ourselves so we truly know we are on a righteous path.

I may not be a Christian, but I grew up as one, and I know what it is to feel and speak to God. I felt closer to him the more I got away from what people told me how to think about things.

I await your response when you are healthier, friend.

      no problem! ^.^

Hey, it's nothing against you! Not at all. I don't judge people on their beliefs. However, I do keep the right to question others believes, as I accept people questioning mine :]

The first statement in that link is this:
"We are not specifically told, but I can make some reasonable guesses." They are all guesses. And regardless of what the pastor will tell you, he will, of course, not say that "yes, polygamy is not allowed in the Bible."

I used to describe myself as a Christian, but after hearing Christians speak, seeing what the Bible says and all that, I can't identify as such. Now I am a theist. I still have faith in what is most likely the Christian God and Jesus and all that, but I am unable to take what the Bible says seriously.
      For example:

"God punishes the children for the failings of their great-great grandfathers."

"If a betrothed virgin is raped in the city and doesn't cry out loud enough, then "the men of the city shall stone her to death."

"God won't let bastards attend church. Neither can the sons or daughters of bastards "even to the tenth generation." So if you plan to attend church next Sunday be ready to prove
that your genitals are intact and don't forget your birth certificate and genealogical records for at least the last ten generations. Don't laugh. This stuff is important to God."

"If you pray to God, he will kill your enemies for you."

"Beat your children and don't stop just because they cry"

"All of the animals boarded the ark "in the selfsame day.""

So yeah, that's my problem. I mean, I don't like organized religion in any form, it's not just Christianity.

      That's my point, you're incorrect.
Abraham had 2 concubines. God accepted this.
In Genesis 16, Sarai gave her husband, Abram, a slave to marry and have children with.
Lamech had 2 wives. Esau had 3. Jacob had 2,
In Genesis 38, Judah says to Onan to have children with her, because that's his duty as a brother-in-law.
      Deuteronomy 22:28-29
"If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days." - If a woman is raped, she should marry the rapist. All he has to do is pay 50 shekels of silver to the father.
Deuteronomy 21:11 "And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to"thy wife." - If a soldier is attracted to a Prisoner of War, he can make her his wife.
Exodus 21:4 (Talking about slaves): "If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself."

There are so many things in the Bible that are contradictory, and out right wrong. According to the Bible, you can sell your daughter as a slave. But just because it says so in the Bible, people still think of it as something bad now. Because the Bible speaks about another time.

Things were different back then. If you are to use the Bible to back up your argument, you will have to believe in the Bible and follow it, you can't just choose the things you like or have been taught to think are correct according to the Bible, which is the problem today, you know? I don't question the Christian faith, but I question the blind following of the Bible, as it is severely outdated.

Hey, I didn't take offense at all, it's the debate corner, people are entitled to their opinions. :) Anyway, I replied with an explanation ;)

A few things you should know:
I am a Southern Baptist Christian, and I am very, very serious about that. Feel free to ask me about it though, I'm always willing to share. :) But I won't force it on you. I've made that mistake before, didn't end well. :|
I don't support yaoi or yuri.
I don't support gay rights. That is not to say I hate all gay people. They're just people, like everyone else, and some I'll like and some I won't. I just won't agree with them on a few of their views.

Men, Reading, Writing, Drawing, TALKING! :D
