IGN Interview with Shinji Hashimoto (Expect to wait for KH3)

IGN has posted a small chunk of an interview with executive producer; Shinji Hashimoto. Hashimoto discusses the progress on Kingdom Hearts 3 and that to make it great, fans will have to wait a little longer, since both KH3 and Final Fantasy XV have the same director, The full interview will be posted later this week, but the pieces from the article can be read below.

"Having Tetsuya Nomura as director for both projects [(Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III)] would obviously have an impact [on their release timeframes]."

"So at E3 this year we announced Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy XV. Both have Tetsuya Nomura as their director, so we can’t create these two big games at the same time."

"It’s a difficult job, as we want each game to be perfect in terms of quality."

When asked why Square Enix decided to announce the game this year if significant progress hasn't perhaps been made, Hashimoto explained that the company thought it was about time it addressed speculation about the long-awaited conclusion to the trilogy.

"A lot of people have wondered for the last couple of years if Square Enix has actually been working on Kingdom Hearts III; that’s why we announced it at E3 this year. But please, we need you all to understand that there’s a lot to do."

Not really surprised. Nomura did say that FF XV is expected to come out before KH3. Besides, gives me enough time to save for a PS4.

Considering FFXV's trailers were actual gameplay (albeit, still in the dev. environment), I'm probably gonna peg that around late 2014 - mid 2015. For KH3, I am really not expecting a release overseas till mid 2016 or so. I want a great "finish" to the series, and they can honestly take as much time as they need to deliver something that will wrap the Xehanort Saga to a complete close and push the series to a new level.
