That I was told to do for Creative Writing is... strange. We were told to write for 5 mins everyday in a quiet place with the only requirement being to not stop writing what we're thinking, no matter what it is. This is both great for creativity and just for a general stress relief. I recommend it. And yes I mean write,ime with a len, not a keyboard. Truth be told, i've already 'Blah, blah, blah, I am thinking of what to think to write about.'
That doesn't sound like a bad idea, it would really help. Also, burning/shredding it afterwards may also help relieve stress >:3
I actually had to do the same thing for my writing class in College. It was to help us just get ideas out and not worry about any kind of details. I don't do it because I'm just lazy
