I love this movie. I watched it the other night for the first time in over seven years.

I would definitely be straightforward and confident about it. Ask her out as if you are interested but will not be hurt by rejection, and she will probably be more impressed and even feel a bit of a need to live up to your interest rather than feeling like she will be catering to someone who is shy.

Unless she is a dominating girl, in which case asking her out is anyone's guess as far as acceptance and/or methods.
