    Me and my friend had an idea. If go to the North or South Pole and spin a top in the opposite direction of the Earth's rotation, and the spped of the top is faster that the speed of the Earth's rotation, would the top go back in time?

    No, even with that much momentum behind you, turning counterclockwise is not enough to break the speed of light, else you go back 3 seconds and explode from centrifugal force.

    That would simply prove that tops don't spin well on ice-- er, depending on when you get around to doing this, it could be water.
