Considering a butterfly does not have the mental capacity to dream, I'm going to go with the former.

 

Consider that a man is a dream of a butterfly. How can the man ever be sure that existence is true, or knowledge is true, or that a butterfly can have the mental capacity for what ever it wishes? He can only dream of the butterfly. Or the butterfly dream of him. Which is true, which is false? It could be one, or the other, both or neither? It is a question empty of answers.
