Last night I told my dad that I needed to go to the post-office around 10, and when I go downstairs to see if he's ready to go, he's not there. I asked my mom where he was, and she said that he had gone to the store to get some things... without me. He knew that I needed to go somewhere, and went to the store without me. He's been gone for an hour, and the post office closes at 12. We probably won't make it on time. This has happened multiple times, and I am just ****ing sick of this sort of thing. He always does this type of thing, and I can't take it.
I was yelling at my mom out of frustration and she said that I wasn't downstairs when he left.
How does that make it my fault that he left without me? Is it really too much trouble to tell someone that you know needs to go somewhere that you're going somewhere? How is it my fault for not being downstairs when he left, considering that I didn't even know he was going somewhere?
In the end this is only more trouble on him because he's going to have to go out twice. When this sort of thing used to happen I would just say something like "since we might not make it we can just not go today," out of consideration for him, but I'm sorry, I'm not going to keep being considerate if he's is going to keep doing this sort of thing. I have things that I need to do, I tell him in advance, so why shouldn't I keep my interests at heart out of consideration for myself? It would be one thing if it was some emergency that came out of nowhere, but it's not. It's just selfish laziness. I've had my learners permit for nearly two years, and I am more than qualified to take the test to get my driver's license. I've been telling my dad since September of 2012 that we should probably go a head and sign me up to take the test just to get it out of the way, and every time I say that he says that we will look into it next month. It costs some sum of money, so I can understand wanting to wait until "next month" to wait till they've gotten paid or whatever, but my dad gets paid on the 1st and 16th, and my mom gets paid every other Friday, so there's really no reason that we should have to put it off for more than one month, and by my count, since September of 2012, there has been 5 "next months." It doesn't really matter that much because I won't have a car, but if I had my license I could have gone when I was awake and ready two hours ago before everyone else was awake.

and on top of all this it's overcast and nasty. wonderful day.

I don't know how it functions where you live but here you can schedule a driver's test without a parent--granted, you need someone who can drive (legally) to take you there and back, but all the same. It costs I think $10 to schedule (and that's good for two tries... yeah it took me three judge me), and then about $90 when you actually pass.

Do some odd jobs and try to save the money on your own, even if you don't make all of it, you putting some money forward will help your parents out.

I recall you mentioning something like this before Below so I know this has happened before. I think Misty is right if you want it done save your own money to get it done.

It doesn't work that way here. It costs upwards of $100 and you and your parets have to sign one or two things.
    Money is not the problem.

    Are you from Virginia? ^^
I know it is like that there. My friend had to pay that much for his when he waited to take to take the test :/ was not pleased to say the least.

Have you ever sat your parents down and confronted them about it? Maybe letting them know "Hey, I'm not trying to be rude here, but you have said let's wait till next month 5 times now and I would really appreciate it if I could please go take the test now." Sometimes parents tend to forget things they say. Perhaps bringing that up will make them realize that you are really eager to get that test over with. ^-^

I hope that your day got better!
