Today the man who is the reason for rock and roll passed away. Lester William Polsfuss, also known as Les Paul, died at the age of 94 years old because of complications from pneumonia. He recently made many trips in and out of the hospital due to his illness, and I'm glad that he's at peace. However, that doesn't mean I'm not sad to see him go. I started playing guitar in 7th grade after my dad showed me his Bouquet of Roses album. It was like magic. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but he was also Honorary Board Member for Little Kids Rock, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing free musical instruments and music instruction to underserved schools across the United States of America. Now, I bet a lot of you play the electric guitar, or are at least attempting it. You have Les Paul to thank for that. Even if you haven't heard any of his music, the impact he made on the music industry means that it is all around you. He will be missed.
I never heard about him before his death, but he sounded pretty awesome. Being a inventor and musician, pretty sweet.
Oh wow. I never really imagined this day. He was a musical genuis, and he's in the sky, making more music. Good luck to ya, bud.
Aw I love Les Paul guitars. He really did a bunch of great stuff when it comes to music, rest in peace. :3
94's a pretty good age in my opinion. Long lived, and he's left one hell of a legacy. Sad to see a legend go, but at least any suffereing is gone.
My guitar class did a tribute project in Les Paul's name. Glad to know he lived a long fulfilling life. Definitely a hero to all guitarists.
