The "Does Anyone Else Do This?" Thread

Wherein you post weird things that you don't think anyone else does, and see if you're right or not. Please try not to post just to say "Hey I do that," otherwise we'll run out of content quickly. Leave some weirdness of your own!

I'll start us off:

I have such an insatiable love of mozzarella that I sometimes rip it out of the crust of cheese sticks/Pizza Hut stuffed-crust pizza and eat it bare. I even cook my mozza sticks 'til the cheese oozes out, since it becomes easier to remove when it cools. (And before you ask, just buying plain, crust-less mozza sticks would be silly because they're not cooked, and they'd turn to a big pile of mush if I put 'em in the oven. Not to say I don't eat them as well.)

 

I brush my teeth in the shower, because it saves time and I can be a slob about it and not worry about getting paste on my clothes.

Don't do the pizza thing in the slightest though.

 

I eat mozzarella on it's own- I would happily just eat a whole block of it instead of putting it on my pizzas :3

I don't brush my teeth in the shower as I don't shower in my bathroom (I take my parents shower becauase it's so much nicer, also I don't like showering in the morings- it involves getting up earlier).

I like to eat broccoli with vinegar. I doubt anyone else does but it's a habit I've always had and I will forever love it :D despite other peoples' reactions.

 

I walk backwards and/or try to avoid changing the direction I am facing while walking.

I do none of yours.

 

I LOVE MOZZARELLA AS WELL but only when cooked, I can't stand it like... out of the package.

You know how, when you get fast food, it comes in like... cardboard containers? I eat really fast so I finish before everyone else, and I end up obsessively tearing the containers into little parts & making cardboard confetti. I... don't know what caused it or why I do it.

 

Don't do any of those, although I do have a fixation with tearing things.

I have to be clean at all times, so I brush my teeth every few hours and wash my hands whenever I walk by a sink. I also floss when bored.

 

Done that a few times

Use to do that so much while I was younger, and sometimes still do it.

I do this weird skip on the spot thing where I end up with one foot out in front of me

 

I'm also one for the backwards walking and even running. Mostly the running actually. During basketball games when I had to get back to the other side of the court and needed to see what was going on behind me, instead of facing the side of the court I was running too I'd run backwards so I could see where the ball was, who had it, if they were advancing up the court, etc. So far even in my sport I do this much more often then other people.

But the real thing I do is play out entire conversations in my head, sometimes having them out loud. Say I'm planning to do something that could anger certain people, I usually weigh things out and think who would get mad, why and what they would say and then I proceed to have that conversation and any variations of it with myself. It usually results in arguments where I pretty much practice how to justify the actions I'm planning on taking. These usually last anywhere from 2-10 minutes.

 

Just gonna quote what I do

Adding to this I also pretend I'm part of story lines I enjoy. Like when I'm on the bus listening to music I will play out fantasy situations in my head like that I'm the Avatar and my identity is secret and no one in my school knows, so I envision myself bending everything while listening to dubstep music and it makes me feel like a bad ass.

Another thing that I do is shave my arms. Some people view it as unnatural, but I've been doing it for such a long time now that I don't even tell people anymore. I used to get made fun of in elementary school for having hairy arms and it was an insecurity that carried on into middle school. I tried bleaching the hair but it looked dumb so yeah now I shave my arms.

 

This is apparently pretty common amongst girls! Or at least, girls I know. I don't mind arm hair tbh, but mine is really light so.

 

You and me both. Apart from the dubstep bit.

Whenever my boyfriend and I play video games together, we provide the voices of the characters if they aren't already voice acted. We've done this for FFs VII - IX. I had the most fun voicing Vivi.

 

Does anyone else besides me eat foot cheese here.

I just realized another thing I do. I always plan things out days ahead of time and I can't bring myself to change plans at the last minute entirely. Like if it's a minor thing I'm cool with it, but I like to plan things out entirely and have my week all organized. My boyfriend gets all funny about because whenever I ask him what he's doing Saturday on like Tuesday he's always like "Hale I don't know..."

I don't shave my arms but I do something similar to the story thing. In my mind I take elements from all my favorite shows, books, games etc like characters and places and tell my own stories and such and I'm always the main character because I'm just an ego maniac like that and everything revolves around me. These things play out the smoothest in my mind with music. I change the music I listen to based on what is happening in said story. Sometimes it's cool ass dubstep or some Coldplay or something.

 

I regularly think of what would happen if I met up with a group of people from this here website. :x

 

YOU FOUND ANOTHER PERSON WHO DOES THIS?!

He's the luckiest guy in the world. I imagine anyone where I live who found out that I do that would shoot me a weird look.

I also practice voice acting at random, usually when plotting out scenes in stories I'm writing. Other times I'll find myself re-doing a line I just heard, trying to come up with a better version.

There might actually be a big road trip in a few years' time.

 

I don't pretend I'm part of a storyline but I do imagine music videos in my head when I listen to music. Not really AMVs (although I have done that too when I think a song might work with something) but like, "if I directed the music video to this song, what would it look like?" I also play a fair number of instruments and like to think of ways I could cover all the parts with what I know how to play, and imagine what it would sound like (something I basically NEVER act on but someday maybe??). I'm better with learning by ear than reading sheet music so I'm a lot more comfortable with figuring out songs that way than looking at an arrangement :c. forever cursed to suck at sight reading The music video thing is also kind of a curse because it renders me unable to do things like homework with music in the background, can't focus.

Also idk if this really counts but I watch cartoons/animated films on what is probably a more regular basis than live action media, lol. And I'm not even really talking anime, I do watch that but I also mean western animation... I have a tendency to latch onto something for a long time when I like it so I don't watch a ton of series at once or anything but I get the feeling some of my friends/family think I'm a little immature because I'd often rather watch an animated film over a live action one. I'm sort of self-conscious about it actually i don't know And it's not even like I don't appreciate live action? Most of my favorite films are, but idk when looking through a list of things to watch I just gravitate towards animated things (unless I'm convinced they're crap lol).

 

I do that all of the time. More often on hypothetical conversations than real conversations unless I can't have the conversations at the time.

I compulsively check every corner of every room in a game at least once and speak to all of the NPCs and get every item no matter how worthless, and if I play through the level again, I do it again.

 

Am I the only one who drums with their teeth?
