Here's a link to an article with screenshots and a few details: http://www.gaming-age.com/2012/04/s...acing-to-xbox-360-ps3-ps-vita-3ds-pc-in-2012/ I really enjoyed the first game. It was a fun kart racer with several of my favorite characters from Sega franchises. Apparently this iteration borrows from Mario Kart 7 in that there are water and air segments to the tracks. However, they look to be different in that the physics for driving could be changed while in these sections. Plus the flying sections involve actual flight as opposed to MK7's gliding. Thoughts? Opinions? Discuss it all here. I have to admit, this looks pretty darn nice. I never got the chance to play the first game, but I heard some pretty good things about it. So perhaps I'll pick this up when it comes out. Though I have to say that I'm not exactly a huge fan of SEGA. The Sonic franchise is about as far as I can go if I try to pick out any characters from them. And I must say, the flying segments here look like brilliant fun. Hopefully they'll play as smoothly as they look. But yeah I find that a lot better than the gliding in Mario Kart 7.
I know the feeling of not knowing anybody besides the Sonic characters. When I played the first installment, I kept asking myself who these people were. Luckily it had a bio page for each character. Hopefully they keep those in Transformed for people who may not know all of the SEGA franchises. Yes, the flying segments are one of the things I'm really looking forward to in this title. It just looks so fun.
It's seems more like a sleeker rip-off of diddy kong racing. nothing new here, just rehashed stuff from other games.
What's wrong with building upon something that another game did right? For all we know, it could end up being completely different.
It cannot be something completely different if it builds upon another game. I don't have a problem with them doing it. They could do it well. Regardless, Sega hasn't really been known for making anything original or high quality lately. this kart racing game is anything but.
I know I should've worded that differently...What I was getting at was that it would be similar, yet have it's own different style to it at the same time. And not to sound like a jerk, but their last few games that I've played from them were pretty good. Sonic Generations was a really good, albeit short, nostalgia trip. Plus the gameplay was fast-paced and fun. I don't have much of an opinion on other SEGA titles as I haven't played them. As for their kart racer not being fun, you obviously haven't played the first All-Stars Racing game. It was really good.
Looks interesting, though I have to ask why Eggman suddenly needs engines on the Eggmobile to fly. It's always flown fine without. .____. Well I was never that interested in racing games, but this looks okay. If it has Metal Sonic in from the get-go, I'll get it, otherwise it's one of those things that I'll consider but leave for ages.
I think it's more of a situation of he modified it to drive on land and water, while flight was already there. I don't know if you played the first game in this series, but I know from experience that's it's a really fun and well-done racer. Not all of the characters have been announced yet, so it's more than possible that Metal is a default character (Or maybe an unlockable one). Since you mentioned characters, I'm gonna add a list of confirmed characters in the OP. If Metal Sonic is announced, I'll put him there.
